Girlfriend saw this on instagram. She asked the seller how much and it was too god damn much.
I'm handy with a needle and thread on account of grams teaching us to sew as kids.
I remember an anon posting a how-toin the leather thread a while back. Does anyone happen to have it saved?
have you picked out a dog to get that fur from?

I am looking to build a device that uses as much power as possible, while not making much noise or light? help a nibba out
>>1143270
Seems like an odd request but I would think you could just wire a bunch of resistors in series. Won't make any noise or light just lots of heat. E=I*R
Whatever kind of machine you'll make, the power will always turn into heat in the end, so really it's best to just go straight to heat and make a powerful heater.
You have to think about how much power you can actually get from your source. A standard outlet here is only 3600w, and in America it's a petty 1800w.
You also have to think of how to dispose of the heat, if it's only 3600w then having it in a room is no problem, but if you build a massive 100kw heater then you need to think of where to make the heat go.

I would help you but I get the feeling that this is for some revenge scheme in someone. If you have a problem, confront them. Don't try to take it out on their electric bill. Let it go nigger.
Hey /diy/nosaurs! Just a quick update about my father.
As some of you may know I started a thread a few weeks back asking for OTC options for pain management for my father and a few anons pointed me to Kratom. We ordered some OG Bali capsules and my dad talked to his doctor who gave him the OK to try it.
After just 2 capsules my father said it took the edge off his pain and gave him an energy boost similar to caffeine. He had no negative drug interactions, no nasty side effects, and was able to get to sleep easier.
The medicine he takes other than the Kratom are:
>Crestor - For cholesterol
>Zetia - Prevents intestines from absorbing food fat
>Imdur - Nitroglycerin
>Aspirin - Blood thinner
He was taking Percocet for chronic pain caused by arthritis and a motorcycle crash, but his doctor stopped writing pain management scripts. Kratom has become a viable alternative for his opioid pain medicine!
So thank you to those anons who pointed us to this remarkable herbal supplement. You've given my father a new independence from opioids and the American pharmaceutical industry!
Thanks for the feedback!

My pleasure, it's the least I can do after the help I received!
Thanks for sharing OP
>Share your results! /diy/ loves to see problems solved and projects completed!
The DEA is in bed with big Pharma and wants to male kratom illegal like it did with CBD
Please share your story with your congressmen.
Wasn't really sure where else to put this, but I'm planning on hopping a freight across America. Is there anything I can do to prepare other than reading about it?
>>1142926
Tie some blankets around your chest so it won't hurt as much when you get kicked in the ribs by a RR worker.
This is a stupid idea, might have worked well in the 1950s, now not so much.

This, make sure you don't hop on Shack's train. He'll brain you real quick with a hammer.

can you stab someone?
I'm inheriting a house that has been sitting empty for about 15 years in an area with harsh winters and hot summers. It was well taken care of before it was vacated. What kind of dilapidation might have taken place since then? What kind of projects should I anticipate if I want to get it livable? It's closed to the elements/homeless people but might have had rats or mice. Anyone ever rehab a house?
Where is this house? Suburb, wilderness? What kind of climate has it been exposed to?
should get inside hte house and send pics
Insufficient data for a meaningful answer.
What are my chances of getting disabled/dying as an electrician?
Is it really as dangerous as it seems?
I would suggest you water it every three days until it dries.
That really depends if you're an idiot or not.

I spent a couple weekends hauling trash for some people with my pickup. Besides the general liquid shit found in residential trash, a couple toilet wax rings fell off and melted.
What's the best way to clean my truck bed?
I don't have access to a hose, but I can buy a bucket, brush, and whatever soap I need from the hardware store. My truck bed has some kind of spray on liner, so it's not just plastic or metal.
>>1142653
Get a stiff bristle brush with an adjustable handle. Go to a self car wash/use power washer and just get scrubbing.. A bucket with a mix of dawn and water might help too.

yep

This, but first use some stiff cardboard to scrape up as much as posible
Does anyone else like the look of hi-vis clothes? Picked up one of these the other day, and I think it's my new daily wear. I find myself wishing they designed safety clothes a little more sartorially.
This and more in tonight's edition of /fa/ Meets /diy/
>>1141444
If you got a job you would not be so excited about wearing work clothes.
>>1141457
Har har. Back when I was surveying, I was pretty excited about buying a sweet new safety vest.
That's still kind of my point, they should make clothes that a person would want to wear even when they weren't on the job.
>>1141457
don be harsh - come the robots, bit of Hi-Vis LARP'ing be all that remains of 'manual work' as a conceptual and factual entity.
So I learned about these japanese dome homes the other day. They're expanded polystyrene structures that the company claims is fireproof, ecofriendly, cheap, more resistant to natural disasters than traditional structures and have excellent insulating qualities. I can't find much info on these outside the company website and they don't mention any cons and their pros seem kinda out there. Would you guys use one of these as a remote cabin? And if anyone can tell me any negatives they see right off that bat that would be appreciated.
Also forgot to mention they're modular and come in pieces that you put together and plaster up. Basically you can make them the shape that works best for you and you can set up the whole thing by yourself.
>>1141304
Looks like an interesting way to build a single story cabin. Domes are stupid though, just build something square.

/diy/ what would be the best way to store 50 gallons of hard (and still in package) of cheese outside for 5 hours at a place with no electricity?
Im thinking like a giant crate, insulated with some material, and filled with an ice/salt mixture.
Can anyone recommend what would be the best thing to do?
Budget of $1000. URGENT
>>1141184
>best way
>$1000
>5 hours
wait until it snows, put them out, cover with plastic sheet, done
Build a crate out of 6 pallets (4 walls and a top/bottom) insulate with Tyvek sandwiched between 2 layers of plywood.
Use dry ice to keep inside cold. This will also keep bugs and animals away.
Put a tarp over it to protect from the sun.
>>1141184
Insulated box filled with dry ice.
Anyone have a clue what this is? I found more than 30 of these small glass bottles thrown into my crawlspace.
>>1140928
they have a strange top.
Could be insulin vials with a needle guide in the cap, pop the top off and if its got a rubber seal on the inside of the lid, that's what they might be
>>1140937
>covertly injecting insulin and chucking the evidence under someone's house
Insulin, suuuure.
Just got my CNC running. What's /diy/ working on?

>TFW precise curves are now only a G2/3 away
Currently working on machine #3. Just got it running the other day, still need to make the spindle encoder to deal with threading (manual-change gear boxes are fucking abhorrent). And put it in a suitable box.
Threads, tapers, and curves will now be easymode. This pleases me greatly.

Post what you found so far this year and share what you found last year.
Posting what I found last year. I use to live in a duplex behind a strip mall and shared dumpsters with them (the person that owned the strip mall also owned the duplexes).

Looking to maybe do a DIY off grid solar installation and I'm wondering how long AGM batteries will last assuming I use them heavily.
This will be the deciding factor as to whether or not I go through with it.
>>1139675
they should last around 2 years if they are well kept, but it depends how often you discharge them.
Does anyone have experience with the 10w 12v panels?
>>1139675
Use lifepo you goose
>>1139675
Batteries are the worst part of home energy. The fewer you can get away with using the better. Getting more panels or wind turbines to make up for fewer batteries is a far better idea and cheaper thing to do in the long run.
