My land came with a house included..

But if you bought empty land and built a house on it and then sold it all, you would make a profit.

That is a very healthy colony of mold, if you took that picture that room is now filled with spore, you need to bleach the area and scrape the mold off while wearing a mask

Hello /diy
any ideas for attaching an image to a metal surface?

Im wondering if i can print out a picture, glue it to the effect pedal and then maybe clear coat it?

will that seal the picture in there permanently?
maybe use photographic paper...

I'm going to try it out anyway but I wondered if any one has a better method.
Should I use a spray can or maybe epoxy resin?

any advice would be appreciated bros

thanks Andrew.
glue the picture first though right?
will I need to create a dam around the sides and plug the holes to keep the resin in? seems like it will spill over the edges and not set on the top.

thanks for your reply mate

I need to come up with a research project about 3D printing.

I have about $3000 in funding and about 2 months.

It can either be about hardware, software, or generally how people interact with 3D printers and the generals.

My original idea would be something about different infill patterns or the like (aka some sort of new default setting which would add a certain property to the print).

I have access to both PLA/ABS and a FormLabs Form 2+ printer.

Any suggestions?

Just a suggestion, this is what I would do. Investigate 3d printing electronics, most consumer 3d printers use 8 bit Arduino mega chips and they have been pushed to their absolute limits when it comes to processing power to the point where they are becoming a bottleneck especially with multi-extrusion systems.

Maybe build a good quality printer and compare print quality and features of different control boards.

I've been meaning to get tinyg g2 core working on something like the duet or buying a printrboard g2 control board and fiddle with that.

Does anyone know how to fix tears in the crotch of a pair of jeans?

I only own four or five pairs of jeans and every single one of them has a blown out crotch. I don't know why this shit happens, I'm /fit/ so its not like my thighs are rubbing together an unnecessary amount.

Any tips on how to fix this?
27 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
you are asking a question and posting the solution to your question.

tear in denim = patch it.

Just get to it quick before a lot of material is shredded, like your image. Get a heavy needle and denim thread from any hobby store (get the mottled denim/blue thread if you want to blend it in better than the golden)

Insert a patch made of more denim, either bought or donated from a pair of pants that is too damaged. Goodwill/thrift shops can be a good source for color-matching, sometimes. Sew it. The end.
>>
>>1142347
>wash jeans or lightly wash around the tear
>trim up the fabric around the hole
>sew patch over tear

Ideally you'd like to catch the rips before they become rips and just reinforce them by stitching over the thread-bare spots a bunch. that's just something to keep in mind for the future. inspect your jeans periodically for thread-bare spots or rips.
even if you are /fit/, the crotch/inner thigh is a high friction point for everyone. combine that with daily sweat and long periods of no-wash (if you're a raw denim guy) it can easily become a tear
>>
Put your patch inside the pants, then with loose stitches to hold pants to patch get the pant seams folded back together and in place. that way the outside of your pants will look as normal as possible. Do this as soon as the hole begins. Crotch fabric gets lots of wear because of all the stretch to the fabric caused by walking.

Hi /DIY/

So, I am about to receive $5000. I am 26 and living in an apartment just working a shit job to pay bills and hopefully save up some money. This $5000 is a god send.
I would like to use this money wisely, however. What are your suggestions for what to do with it, with the goal being I want to eventually live on my own sustainable land, or house, or property. I'm interested in gardening and farming and solar power and being generally self sustainable.
What would you do with this money?

Funny.. Looks like their doing it the right way... Notice the poured concrete in the picture? Once that sets up. Betcha they pour another layer stacking them. There for the container is merely a form for the concrete to cast around.. Shit you could do this with a giant block of Styrofoam.

They are worn, but good enough.

You of course checked the fuse and made sure power was getting to the motor before you tore its shit apart.. Right?
>>
Most of the time when I see a blower motor issues it's the blower motor resistor that is separate from the motor.

Tried to run it like standard PWM fan, assumed that arrow points for +12V and ground is next to it, did not work.
Anyone have idea if it's possible to run GPU fan without steering? just +12v.

Hello /diy/ from a small farm in rural India!

I have a small house on my land, and would like to have a 'personal' weather station in an appropriate location. The nearest actual weather station is ~140mi away.

My requirements: temperature, pressure, wind direction, wind speed and precipitation (rainfall). UV index would be nice to have.

Does anyone have experience with something like this? How do I get started while spending the fewest dollaridoos?

OT: I lurk AMD threads on /g/ and didn't know /diy/ existed until a few minutes ago. This place is way cooler.
