Are the more expensive sauces worth it?
no
make your own
More expensive sauces are less likely to taste like baby food, but I can't remember the last time I bought jarred sauce, or didn't at least doctor it up.
Learn to cook.
No, I buy the cheepest one. And I use it with instant ramen because seriously cooking pasta is way too much work.
what are some high-effort /fit/ recipes? it seems like all /fit/ food is incredibly simplistic because it's mostly made to appeal to men and men are fucking children.

Sup, OP. Today I'm making some black beans and split pea soup to eat throughout the week. I usually eat black beans +quinoa for lunch every day. I could post a recipe if you wanted?
>>7910165
sure.
>>7910170
Bulkin' beans:
Ingredients: 5 cans of beans (Any mix of garbanzo, kidney, and black beans)
3 limes
half a pack of bacon
mushrooms (optional)
kale (optional)
In a big pot cook the bacon until it's done.
Drain off excess (Keep a decent amount) grease.
Add beans, stirring.
Cook for ~1 hr.
Add in spices (Salt, cayenne, paprika)
Squeeze in the limes.
Add sauted mushrooms.
Serve!
Bacon makes it. It's about 25% protein by calorie, so good for bulking.
thoughts? also Dr Pepper is the best
my thoughts are who gives a crap. Drink what you like and stop worrying about other people and what they eat or drink. It does not matter in any way what so ever.

thoughts on what? a dumb list? go fuck yourself
You know this is a food and cooking board. People come here to talk about food, and cooking. But what is your post about? Sure the image which you post lists the names of a few famous brand of soft drink, along with various social media outlets. But this is just a superficial connection to the topic of food and cooking and what you are really aiming to discuss is the connection between the social media outlets and other peoples opinions. In that instance I contend that your post really doesn't have that much to do about food and cooking at all, and is merely a means to go into a lame social media bashing frenzy where we can all have a good laugh at people for using X or Y social media haha how funny is that WELL IT'S NOT FUCKING FUNNY. IT"S NOT FUNNY AT ALL. WHY ARE YOU ON THIS BOARD? WHY ARE YOU HERE.
I recommend you take this to /pol/ or some other board you may get a much better response for your sponge-brained post.

I have several litres of blueberries and would like to hear some suggestions what i could make from them. I thought about doing jam and maybe a pie, is there any other way i could use them?
I would just make a few pies, maybe even a crumble. I love homemade blueberry pie.
I like to make blueberry limeade and blueberry compote. The compote is good on pancakes and in trifles.
Make muffin or plant them
Why doesn't /ck/ like bacon?
It's delicious.
Bacon is the m- word

Funny, because it clearly says bacon on the packaging, dumb cunt.
>I bought a gallon of milk from convenient store/gas station.
>I poured a glass and took a drink and it was bad tasting.
>Saw weird off white things floating in it.
>Left the glass and it developed bubbles and coagulated after several hours room temperature
>I'm poor as fuck and needed that gallon for a quadruple batch of hamburger helper to last me for a week.
>I don't have a receipt but it's a local dairy
Should I just go back with the gallon and tell them that the shits bad and recommend they check their stock? I need that 3 dollars but don't want to take my chances with another gallon. I'm hungry as fuck they really screwed me on this deal.
>Wastes money on hamburger helper and milk
>Wonders why poor
Good going
>buying stuff that isn't loaded with preservatives
>not checking the date
>being a poorfag yet not hoarding receipts for every purchase
You fucked yourself. Make those hamburger helper with water and take it as a learning experience

Do you have suggestions on meals that I can cook that can last a long time? I usually buy bulk beef on sale. Maybe a spaghetti type deal?
Hi /ck/, anyone here eat much Sauerkraut? I want to make Choucroute Garnie sometime soon, but I've never used Sauerkraut personally before. These 3 are the only brands at my local, should I be picky with brands or look for something in particular? Thanks lads.
There are definitely differences in taste between brands. Only thing you can do is test them yourself or read reviews and trust the reviewers. There are 2 main varieties - plain and with white wine. Also there is pasteurized (regular) and pre-cooked.

Thanks, I just went with the Polish Kraut this time as it had a good review all round. The dish came out delicious.
I'll have to find more dishes using it to experiment with.

And served. Looks great!
7-Eleven Hotdogs are AMAZING.
They taste good and they have that nice little bar where you can add fresh toppings like onions, pico de gallo, ketchup, chili, jalepanos, etc, to your fresh hotdog
all for $1!
What is your favorite hot dog /ck/?
Pic related is mine, just picked this bad boy up.
>>7909375
I actually agree, 7-11 has really stepped up their game in the last few years; the dogs are above golf course tier now.
That looks fucking nasty.

You still have a flip phone, OP?
Best appetizers thread.
Post name and picture of your favorites.
I love bacon wrapped cream cheese jalapenos
>>7909360
We had those last night.
Used banana peppers instead of jalapenos, and the filling was laughing cow light swiss with some shredded cheese mixed in. Wrapped them in turkey bacon.
Great appetizer.

Soup
Always
>>7909360
Fucking hell that sounds good. A bit memey though.
What's up with the threads recently of people eating entire pizzas and feeling like shit afterwards?
Who else just grabs a good slice from their local spot (or Costco), and is appropriately satisfied? Pizza even after the first slice starts to have serious diminishing returns.
>>7909335
>paying $50 a month so you can shop at a wholesale store just to buy pizza
LUL
>>7909335
I buy clearance frozen pizza then cut out slices and toast them when needed
>>7909345
It is $55 for a year, not a month.
I'm an Alcoholic. There I said it. My problem is this, I like going to the bar, I like riding my bike. I don't like getting arrested, endangering other people, endangering myself in that order respectively. That being said does anyone have experience with non alcoholic beverages at the bar? If a drink 5-6 odouls/st pauli NA will I pass a breathalyzer? I don't care if I get pulled over if I'm innocent, but I rather help the police than run from them.
I want to go out now, they have music, possible random encounters, but my freedom is super important.

How do I make the best pulled pork?
Do you guys do anything different with it or just put it on a bun with the standard stuff?
Carnitas
Carnitas, or Mexican pulled pork. Good for tacos, burritos, quesadillas, nachos and whatever else.
I rub the pork shoulder with salt, pepper, chili powder, lime juice and slow cook it with some beer.
After I shred it I add some more seasonings, to taste, then put the shreds under the broiler until a bit crispy.
>>7909247
I never braise it. I just get an oven enamled crock pot, put in the pork roast after giving it the rub down and maybe letting it rest up to RT, then I put that fucker in the oven for a gorillian hours (usually 6-8 including broiling time after forking it) and take it out and make it fall apart for the afformentioned broiling. If theres too much liquid I usually reduce it all in a pan and then pour it back over the meat when I'm done browning that shit.
Who /IBS/ here?
>>7909122
I feel you OP. I've had IBS since I was a kid. Currently shitting out ungodly terrors as I type.
ulcerative colitis here. I can actually eat whatever I want now that I'm on Remicade, it suppresses the symptoms entirely. but I might get lupus from it. OH WELL
>>7909154
lol
I have a friend with MS who takes some fucking crazy medication to suppress the symptoms. One of the side effects is literally that he could just randomly die for no apparent reason.
UK Kitchen Nightmares
>all the episodes are different and nuanced in situation
>licensed music plays in between the scenes
>focuses on the restaurant with few bullshit activities
>changes are often minimal such as a new menu, or a slight renovation
>many of the places stay open
>Ramsay is a rather reasonable person asking more of competent people
US Kitchen Nightmares
>All the episodes are literally shit frozen food and a shit kitchen with forced drama
>forced stinger music and dramatic sound effects to raise attention
>focuses on the crazy personalities of the restaurant owners rather than the restaurant
>Changes are outlandishly large, calling for complete redecoration and new kitchens sponsored by some product trying to sell itself
>A whole entire season of restaurants have closed
>Ramsay looks like a repetitive mad man screaming his head off.
Look at these two clips alone. How can the US even compare?
