Every cake/brownie I bake ends up burned up top and raw down bottom.
I'm using aluminium trays to bake them.
Is there a way to prevent this as is? Should I start using my brain and buy a tin tray?
>>8164108
Yes.
Or double your trays to get better heat distribution.
no you don't need to buy different pans, start using your brain and lower the temperature
This may sound crazy, but have you considered your oven knobs are switched around? I'm saying this because that's actually what happened to me and that's how my cakes used to come out, the knob I thought I was setting to 175°C was actually turning on the top grill, and the knob I thought was setting the heat to top and bottom was actually setting the oven to like 90°C. Hence raw, burnt cake.
I need some help here. I'm going to try experimenting with some crab cakes and broiling, but I've never broiled food before. My oven has two settings for the broiler, Low and High, yet every recipe I see for crab cakes doesn't mention broil settings. So which setting should I use for them, Low so they can cook more evenly?
>>8164078
Look into your oven's manual or ask your parents. Most broilers are over 250°C.
>>8164078
Broiling is about using high direct heat, otherwise you'd just bake - low seems like a ruse
>drink a can of soda or something similarly sweet almost daiky
>at the same time drink nearly a gallon of water a day
>eat pretty unhealthy and live a completely sedentary lifestyle
>blood sugar somehow normal but cholesterol a little high
>diabetes runs in family
Am I destined to get the beetus?
If you were telling the truth, no. That said, we all know you're gulping down more than one soda a day, fat boy. Or do 64 ounce big-gulps count as one now?
>>8164035
I really don't. I have a can of Arizona maybe twice a week, and other days I might have some chocolate bars or a donut or something. I work in an office with snacks galore.

What are some good dressings for coleslaw besides the usual creamy mayo one?

sauerkraut is much better

It's not just a meme bros, cold brew is like 10 times better than regular.
The coffee flavor is so much less watered down even when it's diluted.
>>8163874
i really enjoy cold brew, but its fuggin expensive
How do I do?
What do I need?

what
make it at home bitch wtf
Trying to buy myself a sauce pan to be able to cook 6oz of pasta at a time. How big of a pot should I buy and where can I get a decent quality one for basic cooking. Also only want non-stick.
Pasta is best cooked in a very large amount of water so don't go nuts trying to find a small pan. For boiling pasta, larger is better.
Nonstick is also totally irrelevant for boiling pasta.
Actually, the pan you posted is very good value for money. Brand is Update International, just google that.
>>8163787
ok but how big should I get? 2 quarts?
>>8163818
I'd get a larger one. 4 or 6. 2qt saucepan is pretty damn small. You can always fill a larger pot partway if you need to cook just a little.
I'm going to share my rice recipe with you twats.
pls no
First, wash your rice. I used 2 cups of Kroger brand jasmine rice.
I don't know shit about rice. Btw
Now it's time for the seasonings...
A fried sardine sandwich with mustard is a true classic, but there's a loss of recipes for when these Chinese grocery braised eel and roasted baby squid ended up in the pantry.
What can be done with braised eel and roasted baby squids? You have any other canned seafood recipes that you can't stop eating?

YOU LIEK EELS BOY?

Not triggered, but I would never buy any Hormel products, nor chili in a can.
My accounting professor liked these

Love this shit, especially on top of fries and smothered in nacho cheese goo and topped with pickled jalapeños. Fucking Achilles heel m8
So after seeing this video posted here a few days ago, I decided to give this meal a try myself and holy shit do I enjoy it.
I just used a potato diced into small cubes, a small onion finely chopped, a hot dog sliced up thinly and about a third of a tin of spam cut into small squares. Never even eaten spam before, but saw it while shopping and thought it might go with the ridiculously frugal nature of the dish, and hey it's actually not bad. The ingredients total up to a little over £1 per meal, so for poor anons, check this meal out.
Now I've eaten it two dinners in a row and especially with the nights getting longer and colder, it's a really nice warming dish.

Does anyone else have some incredibly frugal meals that taste delicious and leave you feeling satisfied and warm inside?
Its really a shame so much cooking like this and other traditional western dishes will be lost forever.
>>8163658
God damn she's adorable
>>8163658
my frugal/comfy meal is game stew
take stew meat of venison (or squirrel/moose/fox/raccoon - anything with red meat and a bit of fat)
slow cook for a few hours with mirepoix
add root veggies, onion, garlic and spices to taste
dash of port or red wine, or a bitter irony stout
serve with dark rye bread or rye flatbread.
(for frugal mode, skip the wine/port/stout unless you brew it yourself)
If you put these on a sheet of aluminum foil* and lower them down into a pot with a steamer basket, and steam them for 8-10 minutes, they taste just like the real thing. They get scorching hot and not the least bit soggy. I was expecting them to be warm at best, but they really do absorb a lot of heat from the steam.
*The box recommends it. I think it serves a few purposes. The steamer basket will conduct heat into the bun, and possibly make it tough. Aluminum sucks at conducting heat. Also, the water might bubble up and get the bottom wet. Makes lifting them out of there a cinch, and you don't have anything to clean.
So its still shit?

You have an opinion. Neat.

Howdy boys, I'm in the mood for questionably shitty Chinese food for lunch. Their General Tsao's is legit, and their sweet and sour pork was God damn awful.
Any suggestions? Will post results.
And what the heck is 4 seasonal food?
the answer to this question is always
THE GENERAL
Get the Cashew chicken or the pepper chicken. Orange chicken is good but from some places unreliable in taste.
Anybody else tey these? They're local and everyone at work drinks these so I decided to give them a try. Most of the flavors taste like testes and ass, but the euphoric caffeine effect has got me addictes.
Rockstar zero calorie has Yerba mate in it and it's cheaper and tastes okay
