So /ck/, what's your favourite stuffing/dressing recipe?
Regular or corn bread? Do you put any meats or fruits? Does it come in a box?
>>8160582
Regular bread. Onions, celery, sage, thyme, mushrooms, oysters. Chicken stock and oyster juice for moistening. Tastes and smells like Thanksgiving afternoon.
Whatever kind it is it needs celery.
why is flank steak so nasty
Because skirt steak is better
if it ain't filet mignon get it the fuck out my face
Because you're a woman who has a vagina.
Dear /ck/
will i die if i eat food that has been prepared in a
rusty pan? or food that has been sitting in a
pan that has the tendency to rust?
if you've ever gone outside you've eaten from far worse cookware than whatever it is you have at home
>>8160161
Nah. Rust is just oxidized iron. I'm guessing that rusty shit is often dirty shit, because it wasn't cared for properly, but if you clean it then rust will only make it a bit more difficult to cook, though not actually harm you.
>be is Sweden
>need cumin
>buy cumin
>mfw those fuckers put ground caraway in the pack
Did Swedefags just troll me?
What am I supposed to do with a whole bag of ground caraway? Anyone got recipes?
>live in a country
>can't speak the language
Faggot.
Caraway in Swedish is kummin. Cumin in Swedish is spiskummin.

As for what to do with a lot of ground caraway, I use it mostly for soups, stews, sauces, gravies and to flavour buttered carrots/parsnips/carrots-and-parsnips but it's also good for quick breads, like soda bread, and yeast breads, like white rye bread.
A favourite, quick recipe to make is fakemeout vadas mártás, a sauce based on carrot. I say fakemeout because I make mine with carrot juice and stock powder rather than puréeing carrots, parsnips and celeriac with the stock in which they've been boiled.
Recipe is simple:
butter, 4tbsp
flour, 4tbsp
onion, chopped, 1 medium/medium-large
stock powder, to taste
>use a vegetarian one or one to match the meat with which you'll use the sauce
caraway, 1-1.5tbsp depending on how much you like (I go with just 1, tbqhwy)
carrot juice, 2 cups
dill and/or parsley, finely chopped, a handful
Cook butter, flour and onion together until the flour is completely hydrated with buttery goodness.
Add stock powder, stir it through, then add caraway.
Add carrot juice and stir to dissolve flour mixture and evenly distribute everything throughout. Sauce will be quite thick.
Off the heat and stir in the greenery.
You can make smothered beef, smothered pork, smothered chicken thigh or smothered beef boiled tongue (as well as most other meats) in the sauce. To do so, pan-cook slices of meat until coloured but not cooked through then remove it from the pan. I like to 'salt' the meat with stock powder before cooking them. Thereafter, add the butter, flour and onion and cook the sauce as directed, omitting the stock powder (because you added it to the meat).
Recipe makes about four servings. It's traditionally served with bread dumplings, but rice or pasta is fine, too.

That's some good eatin my man. What do you plan on doing with all those calories?
What is your favorite brand of packaged deli-style turkey?
I've started taking turkey sandwiches for lunch instead of eating out, but I've yet to find a brand that's knocked my socks off.
>>8159709
>packaged deli-style turkey
Go to the actually deli in the grocery store.
Anyone else like eating chip flavors not from their own country?
I know Lays made a Masala flavor for the US to celebrate the olympics, but the actual Masala flavor from India is so good. My store nearby sells it.
>>8159681
I love foreign chips
Maybe it's simply because I've grown sick of eating BBQ chips since I was like 4 but I find the foreign ones to be at least more interesting if not of a higher quality overall
>>8159856
Seems like america just get screwed with extremely unhealthy and inferior tasting chips.
Frito Lay makes a puffy cheeto type snack thats not sold here and it tastes good.
>>8159870
I think it's that way with most of the snacks I get here
I order foreign candy and chips semi often and they are always made of a higher quality than what I find in a store
Plus they don't flip their shit about the current health trends and make random things gluten free
Let's talk deli foods...antipasto, hoagies, heroes, what have you
>>8159674
Why the fuck is there a pasta section, and then an antipasto section but the antipasto section still contains pasta dishes???????????? And why the F do they even have that word "antipasto" it's like a burger joint giving you a menu saying "burger section" then below it it says "anti burgers" and they put a chicken sandwich in it or some shit LOL. 'Antipasta' triggers me so hard.
>>8159679
What?
>>8159674
Why not ask for it raw?
>>8159546

How does /ck/ feel about escargot? I tried it for the first time last week and it was pretty fucking tasty.
Enough garlic butter and anything is good. Escargot is overrated.
>>8159483
Makes sense. Just tasted like mushrooms and butter
Parents just got themselves a cast iron skillet.
Tell me about them /ck/, I've heard a lot of rumours about them, ranging from "you can't touch them with soap or metal floss" to "they have the protection levels of tank armour, scrub them with whatever you want"
It also says it comes pre-seasoned, if that's of any note.
Why do you care what your parents bought if it's not yours?
>>8159482
So he can tell them how to avoid fucking up their purchase? Pompous asshole
/ck/ what foods do you eat to avoid anemia? I usually take Floradix iron syrup but it makes my stomach hurt sometimes.
>>8159191
I'd suggest eating less seminal plasma
Apparently tofu is a good source of iron.
I eat quite a lot of it and didn't know. I guess I probably don't have to worry about iron deficiency then.

So what's a good brownie recipe that will fill a 2.5 quart casserole dish (pic related) pretty nicely? Obviously it doesn't need to literally fill up the whole thing even just half way full would be acceptable I'm just tired of coming across brownie recipes that barely fill it a couple or few inches.
>>8159061
3 cups of flour and 1 cup of water equals one quart, add a cup of chocolate bull shit and you have half of 2.5 quarts, which is what the you want. Tardis.
Are bottled lemon and lime juice an ill substitute for a freshly cut/squeezed one?
Sort of. It takes a lot of lemons to get the same concentration, which is really what you're after.
I went through this same shit with making my own soup recipes.
>>8159039
Nah, work fine. Only downside is no zest. Just make sure to get good quality, not that lemon shaped bottle garbage.
