a couple years ago, i made turkey sausage for a friendsgiving in which we all try and do different takes on normal thanksgiving fare. i didn't (and don't) own a sausage stuffer, so i went over to a local restaurant that had a small butcher stand and asked if i could use the equipment at the store. lo and behold, the owner/manager/whoever he was in the chain of command just let me take a table-top unit home to borrow. he didn't even know me, want a deposit, check my id, nothing. hell of a nice person.

I tried to make some Teriyaki sauce for chicken without the fancy shit (sesame seeds, rice wine or "sake" or whatever the fuck you want to call it).
I basically used soy sauce, ginger, honey bee, and some water. Ended up using the same proportion of bee and honey, some ginger, and like 2/5 the proportion of water
My shit tasted good, but my sauce teriyaki sauce is literally liquid, I was expecting something "thicker", how do I fix it next time? Even if I hadn't used water, I feel like the sauce would still have ended up with a liquid consistency.
A friend recommended me to use some flavorless cornstarch next time, should I just do that? Is teriyaki sauce supposed to be liquid and I'm just being a retard?

normally I'm not a fan of sazon but it's actually really good in rice. Just toss a packet into the water while you're cooking the rice and you're set. do you have any onion, peppers, or similar? cut them up fine and toss those in there too. simple and tasty.

This creates more work for the chefs. I go to the same place a lot and I was worried that my eating quantities might make them hate me. Instead, I noticed they were going heavy on the fish, sushi buffets usually Jew you on fish to rice ratio. Also, the platters were relatively empty when I got there. After I got there, they were constantly full of the type of fish I usually get. This is really fucking with me, what's going on here?
