Is Raw milk better than pasteurized? I've heard the bacteria is essential for getting the calcium to work (raw milk builds bone, pasteurized decays it) and that calfs will die if they drink pasteurized, and that raw milk is really only dangerous when the cows are fed shit.

Where raw milk is illegal though they saw it's all garbage.

I drank raw milk for a month until the farm owners returned from vacation and told me they only had a bull.
>>
>>8259031
They actually sell bull semen in some restaurants as a novelty. Groups of whores often buy it.

milk makes my buuuutt itch

So I just bought a bottle of this shit (omg stupid dumb fat gay americans eating ranch dressing)
I opened it up and used some but it doesn't taste at all like ranch dressing like it says on the bottle. It tastes exactly like blue cheese. What the fuck is this? Why the fuck does this ranch taste like blue cheese? Is it expired? I literally just bought it about 6 hours ago. Did they somehow fucking put blue cheese into a ranch bottle and I bought it? Someone explain this.

Does it say Blue Cheese on the label?
>>
>>8259023
No, I actually just went and checked. It says ranch on the label. The bottle looks exactly like the one in the picture I posted. In all realities this should be a normal bottle of ranch, but not this one apparently. In some other parallel universe I am currently eating a salad with some actual ranch dressing on it instead of this ranch blue cheese.

Well, ya got me. I have no idea what happened. Chalk it up to a mishap.

Sup guys, i am wondering if there are any good cooking classes/videos to download to be a better cook or is it better to just cook whatever i want from recipes over and over?

good eats is a great starting point
Alton tries his best to produce recipes that don't require weird obscure ingredients or tools you'd shell out 50 bucks to use once
He focuses on the science behind it so it prepares you to make other more complicated recipes

There should really be a sticky about stuff like this, but there isn't

Cooking Live with Sara Moulton was fantastic. She had guests who were experts at something, and they would talk while preparing the evening meal together, all within an hour. She would teach technique while doing it, and all the visual cues to do the steps right, knowing when to flip, etc. (Sara was editor of gourmet magazine and former intern of Julia Child, iirc)
As far as making things over and over, it really is a kind of 3x rule for you to kind of perfect it, remember it for next time, and get through any possible mistakes you might make that you won't do again.
Frugal Gourmet was great, and he had companion cookbooks that are still relevant. One of them was chicken soup from every world cuisine. He cooked the classics and talked about some of the history. He was geeky professorish.
Earlier Good Eats were very educational, but more often were kind of only fun for the production style.
Anne Burrell has some good technique lessons, and makes sensible delicious foods anyone would order in a restaurant. She does a great job teaching timing, all the countdowns to the point everything is ready at the same time. That can be hard for a newb, and she focuses on that.
>>
>>8263142

Good Eats is worth buying on DVD. Informative, fun... greatly improved my cooking. Check out some of the Cook's Illustrated books, which are all excellent.

So I'm trying this out. Only problem is I'm finding it really expensive, since all the stuff you're not supposed to eat (dairy, grains) is cheap and plentiful, but stuff you should eat (e.g. good cuts of meat) are expensive, and I don't have a huge budget.

Where is a good place to go to buy paleo stuff? Or any general advice for doing it on a budget?

You don't need that much protein and fat in a day. Get 50-80 gr of protein in, some fats from nuts or a good olive oil, then fill up on veggies and berries.

Cheap protein: offal, tinned fish like sardines and tuna, eggs, blood.
If you live near the sea get into fishing as a hobby.

Many people in Italy eat pizza with a knife and fork. There is absolutely no difference in taste. As a matter of fact I prefer to use a knife and fork and savour the taste of a good pizza instead of taking large bites and getting cheese grease all over my face.

Is this a thing? Pic related.

Green onions and a yellow pepper Sautéed in butter. Then two eggs, un beaten partially cooked. 2 day old rice, minced garlic, pomegranate vinegar and soy sauce. After i added the rice i stirred it and let it fry until the egg was done cooking. Packed it into a tiny bowl and flipped it onto a plate.

I been using a set of old aluminum baking sheets for years. Roasting veggies, bacon, cookies, etc. But it's time to upgrade.

So, /ck/, what's your recommendation for baking sheets?

What's the best material? Steel? Ceramic? Aluminum?

What's going to hold up to heavy usage?

What's least likely to poison me with weird chemicals?

Pic related.

Hot pockets, doritos, mac and cheese, etc. Basically anything unhealthy and tasty that you exclusively microwave.

Well if you call chicken tenders "tendies" then that
>>
why does it matter? What do you care what other people think? If you like it, it's safe to eat and you don't consume it in excess then just go for it.

VEGAN ICE CREAM? WHAT THE FUCK.

Got a CA recently and I'm loving using it, since it allows me to get the most heat of our shitty glass flat top stove.

I keep hearing you shouldn't use CA on these types of stoves though. If I'm not totally retarded is it safe or will I eventually just scratch the shit out of the top?

>>
>>8263086
Don't know why I abbreviated Cast Iron as CA, meant to put CI.
>>
Well scratching would only be the start of it.

Cast iron is heavy and rough. All it would take is one drop and it would shatter the whole cook top.
>>
>>8263107
If the pot is painted I doubt it will scratch the glass and if you're a big enough retard to drop a heavy pot on your stove it wouldn't matter if it was glass or not

Superheated steam can be stealthy in that kind of way, especially in microwaved drinks. I've only ever heard of the girl who swallowed the dry ice in her fogging out bar cocktail. Bartender told her to drink it, but she got -75C that burned and destroyed her esophagus and stomach, both removed.

OP, mouth, palate and tongue wounds are very fast healing, they just seem slow because they are so omnipresent.
