a classic american plate of three well done ground chuck burgers on white bread with american cheese
as classic as the cobb sandwich
Doesn't look very balanced op. Maybe get some starches in there with French fries. Get your veggies from the ketchup(tomatoes) and a soda for that caffeine rush you'll need after that huge meal
Is it good value for money for a lunch or is it an overpriced sandwich stall?
Going on the $3.50 sandwich day, making it deluxe, and getting a decently stacked sandwich for under five bucks isn't too shabby.

As a worker there I think they are over priced and mediocre at best. The only sub worth getting as far as value and taste go is the spicy italian. The other cheap subs are pretty much shit: meatball(shit smells like dog food when you open the bag of them), veggie(rip off), cold cut combo(turkey product posing as deli meats)
The BMT used to be decent years ago but now is just less meat. They steak is edible but not worth the price- same for the roast beef. All of the chicken is frozen and/or processed. The rotisserie chicken isnt horrible but you can buy a whole rotiss chicken for the same price that tastes better even from walmart.
Being better than mcd's doesn't make it good. I am at least hoping the rye bread reubens coming out this month will be decent.

I enjoy Subway tuna subs. A little salt and pepper on the tuna before anything else, then some cucumbers, tomatoes, light lettuce, and banana peppers. It's delicious, I honestly might take a walk downtown and go get myself one right now.
Why do so many people say that "in today's society people are too busy to cook"?
If you ask me that's completely backwards for two reasons:
1) Thanks to technology we have never had more free than in the part. We have high-speed public transport. We can work remotely. We have all sorts of things like Email, text, fax, internet that let us share information, legal documents, pictures, etc, far faster than past times. Modern machinery does more work with less effort. Automation reduces the amount of labor needed to get work done. We have tools that let us work much faster.
2) The accessibility of cooking has never been higher. We can learn recipes from any corner of the globe by watching experts demonstrate on our PCs, Tablets, phones. Want to learn a dish? In mere seconds you can learn from a 3-star chef. Hear a cooking term you don't understand? Google will explain it to you in seconds. Need an ingredient that's not local to your area? Modern markets have massive selection, and you can mail-order food from any corner of the globe. It's never been easier to learn how to cook or get the tools you need.
I think the excuse is not that they don't have time. It's mainly just exhausted after work.
>>8266836
That doesn't make a lot of sense though. In the past you had people that busted ass plowing a field from sunup to sundown or doing hard manual labor all daylight hours. Nowadays you have a 9-5 job which you travel to in an air-conditioned vehicle so you don't even have to walk. in today's world a person would be far less exhausted after their day's work. (excluding, of course, those few jobs that have really long high-stress hours)
In my opinion it's because people choose to prioritize other things--often recreational--over food. They'd rather play skyrim or binge-watch breaking bad then get up off the couch and get in front of the stove.

There is no excuse to not atleast cook a stew every 3 days its 10 minutes of real cooking that will feed you 3-4 days
Hello /ck/
I have never been to a MacDonalds before but I will get the opportunity to go to one tomorrow. What should I get?
I have heard of the big mac and nuggets before but not sure what is the best choice.
Before you all go off saying troll how can nobody have been to one before. I live on a small island off the coast of the UK. I've been to the mainland many times but never had to opportunity to go to a MacDonalds and I'd like to try it. I have been to a Burger King before but that was several years ago, it was delicious.
What I order needs to be on the UK menu, also, I am a big eater so would like to order a few things to try.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Let's have a comfy sick food thread. What do you guys eat when you're feeling under the weather/ill? Soup? Rice? Veggie stew? Homemade, or just pop the top to a can because fuck this, you're getting dizzy just holding the can opener.
I have the walking pneumonias, relapsing after over a year. Was almost hospitalized for it last time, and let it go untreated for months because I had a new job I had to work at. And now it's come back to bite me in the ass. Poop. Currently not eating this, but wanting it. Just water and beef broth so far.

is ginger coke the vanilla coke of our generation?
So it would be..... half a teaspoon per 1.5 liter bottle, or 1 teaspoon per 1.5 liter?
Or 1 teaspoon per half gallon?
>>8266732
Fucking retard.
>>8266736
Vanillin is about 1 drop per 2dl glass.
Or 7-9 drops for a 1.5 liter bottle.
what the fuck do I do with these things?
You give it to your oneitis and let her step on it.
make tartare
Eat it
Found a young doe at the side of the road and took it home, never cleaned an animal before but after watching a few youtube videos and spending a couple hours with a knife and a hacksaw I had freezer full of crudely butchered meat.
Tried it for the first time tonight, thawed one of the backstraps and pan fried it to medium rare.
It came out tough as fuck, the animal was really young, the whole piece of meat can't of been more than 8oz so I expected it to be tender but it took some serious chewing to get down.
Did I fuck up? Is this because it wasn't aged? At the videos and I have seen show people butchering and freezing the deer the same day they shot them.
>>8266150
If I had to guess I'd say it was the circumstances of the death. Being hit by a car can mean a whole lot of laying around by the side of the road bleeding to death and I've heard the longer it takes the animal to die the worse the meat gets.
>>8266150
Road kill is going to have some serious tissue damage which will definitely affect the meat.
It could also be you overcooked it. Having said that, was the carcass stiff? If so, you can't cook any of it in any manner other than well done. I'm not sure I'd really want to hold that meat in the freezer if rigor had set in.
Enjoy your sepsis
Ok, never been on this board before but wondering if any of you foodfags can help me out.
There is a truck stop/restaurant in my area that makes the most amazing fucking hollandaise sauce I've ever had.
It tastes nothing like traditional hollandaise sauces. It's thick, dark, and super buttery. Doesn't even taste like eggs.
I've tried all kinds of recipes found online to mimic this and they just don't measure up. Can anyone offer any pointers/ideas/their own concoctions? (short of asking the restaurant for the recipe, which I don't think they'd give me).
>>8266092
You could always try asking them
sounds like a brown butter bechamel, kind of a cajun thing imo
r u 500 pounds? don't eat that stuff
Am I allowed to post my snow mans here? I'm gonna post my snow mans. I've got lots more in the works, single/duel wielding snow mans, etc. here is sample though. good luck have fun. I am available to cook these for you in NOVA area @ rate of like $62/hr.
I also cook the best looking steaks, always PINK on the inside with ho bull shit fat staining the texture. Images found here as well.
Lets get started.
We start w/ a fully loaded snow man.
here is my steak preview, if your steak doesn't look like this, you are not very good at cooking. please ignore shitty plating and focus on the steak.
bow tie snoman, woo fun
if you don't like fully loaded noodles, I make this for you as well. decent snow man, nice steak.
Has /ck/ ever done streams of Kitchen Nightmares. I feel that it would be hilarious although most of us at this point have probably seen most of the Kitchen Nightmares episodes.Any other shows that /ck/ would like in a stream would be much appreciated if recommended. Assuming we get one going.
Kitchen Nightmares is a very good show, very funny. I love when Ramsey goes fucking ape shit on people.

A lot of boards have been using rabb.it for streaming COPS and other shows. The only problem is that it has a viewer limit of 25. Which would be a huge problem.
