I work all night but the best election dishes are just spirits. Get blackout drunk and smash things whenever your candidate loses a state.
Who else is planning on getting smashed tomorrow night? If my candidate loses the election, I'm going to get so wasted that I won't even remember which country I'm in.

You don't find out who's president tomorrow dumbass
I'm going to stay up and watch some of it tonight while getting shitfaced, apparently the earliest announced it 4am UK time so I will probably be in bed before then.
This whole spectacle has been great to watch and follow, I am going to be sad once its done

Hey /ck/,
I'm looking for some inspiration for a great feast with multiple courses. I'd like to have at least one or two courses vegetarian.
Preparation time and cost are not an issue if it's worth the result. Some exotic ideas would be perfect.

HAVE YOU TRIED LOOKING UP EXOTIC VEGETABLE DISHES ON THE INTERNET
>>8258374
Of course. I am quite a diverse cook myself and I have lots of ideas, but still, some extra inspiration would be great.
This board has often more fantasy then Google searches.
IMHO venison with a sweet sauce is the tastiest thing on earth. Cherry, cranberry and orange are things I've tried, but there are a lot more possibilities.
In about 6 hours the steaks in the fridge will be salted for 24 hours. My girlfriend got called into work and I was wondering if I can postpone cooking them till tomorrow. That would be 36-48 salted in the fridge.
>till
If you had gone to a decent school, you would have used the correct word which is until.
And yes, they'll be fine.
>>8257732
till is actually correct, sorry

It's not, you redneck fuck.

soup/stew thread
What's your favourite soup/stew?
I love soup and stew, they are very good comfort foods and always nice to eat, especially when sick or cold. Chicken noodle is a classic, but I have been making a lot of broccoli cheddar soup lately and using leftovers as a "cream sauce" for chicken.
As for stew, I haven't really had much other than beef or spicy pork stew, both of which are amazing, but I really want to make or try other stews. Can anyone recommend me a stew that they personally like?
Stews and soups for me are simple. I have some family that live on farms and if we had extra veggies or meat around what do you do? Toss it all into a big pot with some water and season to your liking. So i guess the real hardy stews and soups are my fav.

I'm mexican as fuck, so either posole or menudo for me.
>>8255701
Man, I fucking love pozole. I love Mexican food in general.
>be 20 year old still living at home with parents
>dope neighborhood for the most part
>older mexican lady makes tamales 3-4 times a year and sells them/gives them out to neighbors
>be home alone one day
>had previously taken some vicodin because day off, no classes
>feelin' pretty good but hungry as fuck
>phone rings
>it's older mexican lady
>"is your dad home?"
>no
>"can you come down and get some tamales?"
>yes, absolutely
>saunter down the street about 4 houses down
>knock on the door
>she answers the door and is all excited and invites me in
>fucking loads me up with like 30-40 tamales
>makes me my own plate of tamales, rice, and beans
>get home and have one of the best meals of my fucking life
I will never forget that shit. Hands down, Mexican food is the best. Need to get some pozole now.

Who is this mysterious "130 pound person" that the chart refers to?
In America, only children are that light. Don't say women, because the average American woman weights 166 pounds.
abstain from fat. eat only 2 meals a day.
then you can eat a lot and not gain weight. but stay away from pasta and rice. bread is fine, but make sure it is whole wheat. and beans are good too.

I just got one of these. What's a good dish to break it in with? I'm probably gonna spend a couple hours seasoning it of course but I'm not sure what to actually cook.

Skillet fry some fresh salmon fillets and eggs sunny side up.
Carbon steel right? Season with crisco. Don't fall for any of the meme oils, crisco is the king. Flax seed was never as nonstick as crisco was for me, and it's more expensive.
>>8242385
I'm seasoning it right now with soybean, though I generally cook with canola (which is what crisco is). I now remember why I never buy soybean normally, it smells awful.
