Thoughts on Starbucks?
>>8470055
Garbage coffee. But besides that I dislike the people who regularly go there. Dumb soccer moms, stupid white girls with yoga pants are garbage taste. The shit they put into their drinks is carcinogenic I mean really. If you're going to spend $5+ on a drink you can get something infinitely better at independently owned cafe's.

If you need caffeine it serves a good purpose.
If you were to factor in ethical issues, then i'm not sure (i'm not sure your that kind of person, neither am I).
But it also has a lot of flavored coffee drinks which is draw card for persons who are not simple after coffee.
Finally, starbucks during the afternoon in China is a great place to stop if your a foreigner since the people that go in their shut the fuck up and don't smoke. I went to one in Chongqing early in the morning and was able to use the wifi and get the caffeine I was after. So it serves a kind of quick convenience where you can blow an hour and the will not try to kick you out.

I do not believe that the creator of that image understands the meaning of the word 'toxic'.
What is the intellectual's drink? Is it green tea?
are tea or coffee fags bigger autists?
It used to be strong coffee among the literati back in the day, and in France it was the good old green fairy (but that's because it was dirt cheap and being an artist doesn't tend to pay much). Nowadays I'd say tea and certain craft beers, but I think the true intellectuals just drink what they want to and enjoy themselves accordingly.

anything that requires any sort of not fucked up by soda palette to taste,
tea both green and more oxidized varieties, coffee, beers, liquor. also theres a lot of variance in these drinks. some suck, some are drunk by wannabes(overpriced) and then you've got the good stuff

Those of you who go for the pretzels, make sure to stay hydrated if you eat a bunch because you will get dehydrated and a massive headache because dehydration + sodium levels.
Sure man, bring me some Fritos, that's some good shit. Don't you dare come back with shitty Doritos, though!
I'm trying to lose weight and I can't hit 2000cals a day. I'm not a good enough cook for most things, is there any way for a complete amateur to eat healthy or am I fucked?
It's simple for me to cut out soda and fast food, but apparently not eating enough calories makes you gain weight. I had porridge this morning, carrot and coriander canned soup+melon just right now and I don't know what to have this evening. Any tips?
your question makes no sense

What doesn't make sense? I'm autistic sorry.

Have whatever you'd normally eat, just a much smaller portion of it. Then fill up on something with lots of vegetable fiber, like cooked greens, whole grains or a big salad (not drowned in dressing).

Does anyone have any vegan recipes to share? I don't mean stuff like "chop these veggies and tofu, saute and toss with rice" type stuff, but like making cheese, tricks to making seitan with different textures through different ingredients and unconventional cooking methods, and other stuff that you see in good cookbooks but don't often see in blogs.
Pic related, made some garlic bread using home-made garlic "butter" (recipe coming)
>>8475738
Would that be good for my wife's son? He's 5 and we're trying to get him on a vegan diet
>>8475738
Here's the butter recipe. I used an immersion blender to mix in around 6 cloves of garlic until smooth, then folded in another 2 or 3 minced cloves for texture. Spread on some normal french bread and sprinkled with some seasoning spices, and broiled until golden.

>drive by an olive garden on a friday evening

Old people.

>not preserving your own lemons
Are you guys even trying? They make every single Mediterranean dish they're added to significantly more delicious.
http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/preserved-lemons-231570
>>8480304
Mainly because I can buy them right down the street at a market, and since it doesn't take very much per recipe, I'd rather just buy a jar when I need it than find a place to store the homemade preserved lemons. That said, nothing wrong with making them yourself, they're essential for a lot of middle eastern, moroccan, and north african recipes.
>>8480304
My family pickles it the Vietnamese way. We make lemonade out of it and it's just delicious because it's salty and sweet.
We make these at work for a sauce. Sour as fuck and the taste is strong, but it makes the sauce
Do you guys think Gordon Ramsay tells his employees to fuck off regardless of whether they quit, retire or get fired?
>be me

>Gordon Ramsay shows up
>Wants to tell me something
>"Get the fuck over here" he says
>Shakes my hand
>Pulls me into hug

If this is all you have to offer, just kill yourself.
How the fuck do you deal with this? It was a simple meal of homemade tortillas, pinto beans, chicken legs roasted and then soaked in a hot sauce, along with vegetables for the bean tacos. Suddenly the kitchen is a nightmare, and I refuse to clean it tonight.
>>8480185
just throw it out and buy new cookware.
if it's a shared kitching, you're an ass
if not, garbage anything that will stink, soak anything that will cake on and dry, and put all the small dishes into bigger dishes so it will be easier to tackle tomorrow

I have a 6lb bag of freezer burned Cod portions. What can I do with it?
>>8479886
Microwave 2 portions until warm, then rubber band the two fillets together, then insert penis
>>8479886
>freezer burned Cod portions
you could just have posted a pic of them. depending on how much is freezer burned, you could just cut that off and cook the rest
What exactly IS freezer burn, anyway?
What's your personal motivation to develop your cooking skills? Mines have diminished lately and I find myself making simple meals like omelettes, baked potatoes, sandwiches, porridge and microwaved vegetable dinners with plainly seasoned meat.
>>8479724
>personal motivation to develop your cooking skills?
because i haven't had anyone coo for me for most of the last two or three years and that is probably not going to change for some time anyways. so if i don't want to eat the same crap every day, i have to expand my skills. may also be useful if i do get a date again someday
>What's your personal motivation to develop your cooking skills?
My dad is a very good cook, and when I was growing up, he made it clear that cooking was a necessary skill and that being good at it was worthwhile. I don't regard it as a novelty like a lot people my age seem to.

I can't digest meat properly because of my Crohn's so I have to work harder to get good meals. I thoroughly enjoy it now.
