What do you do with your egg whites /ck? I've got three in the fridge right now and not the slightest idea what to do with them.
Add them to regular scrambled eggs
egg white omelette
Make baked alaska, or some other variety of dessert
Meringue makes most desserts better
Meatball?

I'm making shrimp scampi with linguine today for the first time. Is there anything you do to yours that improves upon regular recipes?
Cum in it
Don't overcook the shrimp, that's literally the only thing that can go wrong.
Also tons of garlic and chilli go a long way
Oh my gad what is that even supposed to be!?!? Is that fucking food, OP!?!? Is that what youre callin food now!?!
So, a few months back I promised my girlfriend some swordfish, just before life sucker-punched our bank account for three months.
Now I'm pretty sure she doesn't remember the promise, and I'm all set to surprise her, but I have zero fucking clue how to cook swordfish steaks.
How does /ck/ cook their swordfish?
>>8576952
It's no different than cooking a steak or a pork chop.
Season it, stick it on a hot grill or a hot skillet. Get a good sear on it, flip it and repeat on the 2nd side.
If it's a thick piece and isn't cooked through yet then move it to a cooler area of the grill (or lower the heat on your pan) and finish it.
>>8576973
Wait, for real? Just cook it like a regular steak?
Isn't fish way more fragile, or am I just too used to cooking salmon filets?
Also, what goes well with it? I see a lot of lemon dishes, but when I think lemon asparagus. Besides Asparagus, what other sides can you think of to compliment it?
>>8577011
>Wait, for real? Just cook it like a regular steak?
Of fucking course.
>>Isn't fish way more fragile, or am I just too used to cooking salmon filets?
Swordfish is a different type of meat than salmon. It's much less fragile. Also, if your fish (any kind) is actually falling apart on you then you are overcooking it.
Lemon pepper is a classic seasoning for many kinds of fish. That would certainly work. As for the sides, steamed veggies would work and that's also super easy.
I bought some chicken feet on a whim today. I've never cooked them or eaten them before, but I've always wanted to try them.
How should I cook them? I have
>green onion
>bamboo
>water chestnuts
>ginger
>garlic
>soy sauce
>rice wine
>lao gan ma
>sugar
>star anise
>chicken stock
>orange (peel)
If I throw all of that into a dutch oven for a few hours will they come out good? Some recipes I saw online call for oyster sauce and clove, which I could get but not sure if necessary. Should the feet be browned first?
theyre shit. dont waste your energy.
if you must ust deep fry them and get it over fast.
If you want to actually eat the feet, you have to do a long braise to get the cartilage tender.
I use chicken feet along with pork hocks to make my tonkotsu broth nice and gelatinous. Chicken feet are killer for a good broth, but you have to roast them first, like most bits.
>>8574963
Don't be so quick to dismiss things just because you don't like them in one application
Chicken feet are probably the best part of the bird for making stock since they're rich in gelatin
Is there a food that makes you feel sick every time you eat it, but it tastes so good that you eat it anyway?

Why is fruit so underrated? If someone just went and invented fruit today, they would be considered the steve jobs of food.

because someone went and told kids it's healthy

>>8579482
No. He has a point.
Some people get awfully butthurt if you try to feed them something they consider healthy.
Is there an appreciable health difference between whole milk and 2%?
The 2% knows too much
>>8579072
Depends on your dietary needs. If you have a low fat diet and a lack of protein and you have the calories to spare whole is a better choice. If you already eat a lot of fat or are watching your calories then go with 2%. For most people the difference is pretty negligible.
>>8579072
Whole milk is usually around 3.25% fat so yeah 1% is closer to 2% than 2% is to homo milk.
This is about to get sloppy, my dudes.
real.
fucking.

>Forks
>Made some chicken in my slowcooker
>Had to go out of town for a week
>Meant to throw out the chicken
>Left the slowcooker sitting on the counter instead
>Came back to an unfathomably foul slowcooker
I've washed it out twice by hand and sent it through the dishwasher, and it still smells like rotten chicken.
Is there anything I can do to get rid of the smell or should I just buy a new slowcooker?
>>8578963
Yes
Did you soak it?
Helps to soak it in something scented, like lemon oil...
>>8578972
Yeah, I soaked it before work with dishsoap and water.
is this a meme or is it actually good
>>8578828
Right up there with onions. Fag.
>>8578828
>Is this a meme?
Yeah, im not going to give you a bump...
If it's more work and tastes the same, it's meme shit.
This can be applied to basically everything in life.
