Movie design doesn't work for a lot of girls in all honesty, it's hard (even with shapewear) to get your body's silhouette to resemble a guy's in a body-fitted black leather suit.
The Kotobukiya figures have been around for ages and actually look pretty decent in terms of gender bend designs. At the very least she's using an official design/reference rather than making 'steampunk fem! edward scissorhands uwu' or some shit like that.

I've seen better-made versions of Kotobukiya Scissorhands but her's is fairly decent. Wig could use more texture and some more detail on the bodice would be nice but it looks pretty good.

Diff anon, but personally I much prefer ozcc. The venue is much better-looking for cosplay photos, and has a lot more sheltered areas if it's too cold or windy. Plus you don't have to buy a ticket if you're okay with just hanging around outside taking photos. With supanova you needed to buy a ticket just to be on the venue.

I will say though, melbnova this year was a huge improvement on previous years. Seems like they're upping their game.
