Hey /biz/, I'm finding myself in an interesting place, and I'll try my best from making this sound too cliche.
I'm not rich by any mean, (50k/yr'er), but I started putting money into stock a few months ago and at the moment, I'm up 1k. Now, for me anyways, 1k of free money for doing nothing but look at numbers in the morning is pretty nice. I'm literally emptying out my bank account and throwing all of my money into the stock market, after all the bills are paid off of course.
The problem arises when I actually want to spend the money on something. In about 2 years, I plan to buy a 30k car. I'm not asking whether or not I should buy the car. I'm asking: how should I, or how do you feel about spending the money now knowing you've definitively reduced your eventual net worst (20+ years from now) by several hundred thousand dollars (if you would have taken that money and instead invest it)?
Basically, I can spend it now and get a car.
Or, I can continue driving my old car, invest the money, and in 5 years, get a much better car.
Or, I can keep continuing to drive my old car, keep investing the money and in 10 years, I'll buy a boat or something.
And so on.
I feel like I'm falling into some kind of trap. How have other people handled this dilemma?

I wouldn't buy a car as long as your current car has a decent look and can get you on the road. Keep investing it and if your car broke down in the future you can buy a new one and even have something left

I know ETH is a mess. I dont like it either, but its time to buy. This is the big bubble. Probably 3-4X in the next 3 weeks.
fundamental reasons:
united/productive community (regardless of ethics)
LOTS of ETHBTC shorts and many haters
fear of holding BTC due to exchange hack
Coinbase adding ETH wallets
ETC activity held down by fear for the next month
Technical analysis
We've completed a 6-month long bubble shape. We have now broken out on high volume. The price has held and we are climbing steadily.
I hate this principle-comromising forking shitcoin to hell, but I want you guys to know so you can at least get rich off of it. Consider selling around 0.05-0.06 BTC

I think it will climb as ETH holders diversify, but it will be suppressed compared to ETH gains because of uncertainty.
When the ETH bubble pops, I predict there will be self-doubting ETH nazis that repent for their bailout bullshit and support ETC. The ETC price should skyrocket when this ETH bubble pops.

Honestly, I would be a plumber atm. Its fucking sick how much they make, like it varies a LOT so I don't know how much you'll make but in my city its 50 an hour, I have seen 90k.
Then you can start your own plumbing business with that 20k and then live a very good life.

besides bankruptcy, what are some other options for dealing with a large amount of credit card debt that DOESN'T negatively impact my score? (besides paying it with money I don't have, obviously)
I'm currently 25k in the hole spread across 3 credit cards (with 15k still open)... long story, I didn't go on a blind consumer fest... previously my score was 770 but now it's 678.
I have income, but at the moment lets just say I can only make the minimum payments.
any tips?

Got a bs in psych here. A few tips.
Getting a masters or phd will give you much greater job opprotunities but will require you to specialize.
Bachelors can get you into a lot of jobs that prefer people with a degree. Its a pretty wide field so you can stretch it how you need it. You probably wont be making bucks right off the bat though.
