If you like networks look up the network+ test by Cisco. You may want to also get some other certs offered by Cisco, Microsoft or compTIA

Make a few projects, build a portfolio website, register on Angelist, apply to startups... interns in the Bay Area make about 85k/yr now (my company did a survey of 30 of the top startups so we could figure out what to pay our interns)

Degree doesn't matter. No one cares in the startup world. They care if you can ship code
