When I woke up this morning and went to mist my frog, I noticed he had a white substance over his body that looked like mold or frost. Is this a fungal infection? If so, what can I do? I can't find anything about this regarding GABFs.

>went to mist my frog
:D
>>2313801
Literally looks like death.
>>2313813
I know. Definitely scared me, but he's very much alive.
I called my local herp vet and he said to apply Silvadene cream to his skin. Does this sound right? I looked it up and it seems to be for human burns
So my cat got one of these roundworm SHITS like 2 days ago and I had to pick it up off the ground for a vet sample/clean everything
I washed my hands like 4-5 times even when I didn't know they could be contagious to people, but now
>Be me with like no money for a doctor
>Wake up in the morning with your eye suddenly hurting
>Look in the mirror and see your lower eyelid/eyeduct is a bit red
>FREAK THE FUCK OUT BECAUSE YOU WERE HANDLING A ROUNDWORM 2 DAYS AGO FUCK
I really really don't want to have to go to a doctor holy shit. I'm hoping something just got in my eye overnight and I'm totally fine and just being paranoid. But it hurts and it's sorta red, not the eye itself yet but my eyelid
What do
>>2313565
Sorry OP but you're a dead man walking.
I wouldn't worry about it.
Even if you picked up the shit and just fucking smeared it all over your face and ate it, I doubt roundworms would be able to do anything in two days, so it probably is something entirely unrelated.
You have parasites in your right now regardless. Everyone does, enjoy your free pet worms.
or rather short hair ones?
Fluffy
>>2312243
Yes. Non fluffy ones as well.
What I don't like is when people call them "doggos" or "puppers".
There is nothing cute or endearing about baby talk. It sounds childish and immature, and I don't want these kind of negative attributes to reflect on my character.

Holy shit, I thought I was the only one!
I've lived all my life with this secret shame, only to find out there are others out there like me?

Hey so I just got this stray kitten a few months ago, and she's been constantly in heat. She'll be normal for less than a week, and then go right back into heat.
I know the obvious answer is to get her spayed, but right now I don't have the money and I'm trying to save up for it. But is there something wrong with her? Something I'm feeding her doing this?
>>2313475
stop being poor
>>2313477
Thanks Anon.
>>2313475
Look into low/no cost neutering programs near you. Ask at your local shelter. If everything else fails, you might be able to get her spayed in a trap, neuter, release program type deal.
And why is it california?
The following common pets are banned in cali:
>ferrets
>hedgehogs
>wolf x dog mixes
>degus
>chinchillas
>gerbils
>quaker parrots
>piranhas
>african clawed frogs
>finches
>starlings
>snails
>bufo toads (for good reason... they're an invasive in florida and breed crazy fast)
>fuckton of fish
Here is the official list

Chinchillas are not illegal in california.
I don't get it. Why does /an/ make such a fuss about cats? Cats are souless creatures that only care about you when they're hungry. They kill other small animals for amusement. They piss everywhere. They shit everywhere. They whine. And then they fuck off for a few hours, only to come back looking for food again. In my opinion, dogs are better. Sure, they can't climb walls. And sure, some dogs can be a bit dumb. But you can't find anything as loyal and protective as a family dog.
tl;dr fuck cats and I mean that.
>>2311130
I fully support this!

Fuck cats, they are the worst and dogs are the best

“Throw a stick, and the servile dog wheezes and pants and stumbles to bring it to you. Do the same before a cat, and he will eye you with coolly polite and somewhat bored amusement. And just as inferior people prefer the inferior animal which scampers excitedly because someone else wants something, so do superior people respect the superior animal which lives its own life and knows that the puerile stick-throwings of alien bipeds are none of its business and beneath its notice. The dog barks and begs and tumbles to amuse you when you crack the whip. That pleases a meekness-loving peasant who relishes a stimulus to his self importance. The cat, on the other hand, charms you into playing for its benefit when it wishes to be amused; making you rush about the room with a paper on a string when it feels like exercise, but refusing all your attempts to make it play when it is not in the humour. That is personality and individuality and self-respect -- the calm mastery of a being whose life is its own and not yours -- and the superior person recognises and appreciates this because he too is a free soul whose position is assured, and whose only law is his own heritage and aesthetic sense.”
Guys what's wrong with my dog?
It's too cute. You should take it to the vet to make sure everything is OK.
- it's disgusting
- it carries diseases
- you're touching its disgusting disease-filled genitalia
It's shiny
>no ant thread
What's wrong with you fuckers? You can literally keep them in a bottle and they're by far the most interesting invertebrate you can keep outside of going full sperg and being a beekeeper.
Tru
I am waiting for the season to catch my first camopnatus pen queen. They are my favorite local species.
I captured a few pavement queens but they were infertile so I am bust until it warms up.
>>2310081
I've had bad luck with Camponatus queens just up and dying after getting some larva. I suppose I'm not catching enough.
>in front of computer
>cat jumps in front of me
>start petting its back
>it keeps rubbing cheek on my mouse hand as I'm trying to internet
WHY THE FUCK YOU DO THIS, YOU CAN'T BE SATISFIED ENOUGH BEING PETTED THAT YOU WANT TO REDUNDANTLY MARK YOUR TERRITORY ON MY FUCKING SHIT THAT YOU'VE ALREADY DONE A COUPLE HOURS AGO!
The entire fucking page has been selected...
>>2309543
its a cat what do you expect
throw it away and get a real pet
>feed animal
>it eats a small portion of food
>leaves
>within minutes begging for food without returning to feed area
>walk it back to feed area
>it immediately starts eating
Why does this happen? I've had cats, dogs, and rodents that all do this.
my cat kept trying to climb up on the back of my monitor so she could attack the mouse pointer. I wouldn't mind normally but she was knocking the monitor out of place and off level
i put some double sided tape on the top edge of the monitor and she was pissed at me all night
ITT: We discuss Paleozoic fauna
I've always thought the Permian synapsids are really fascinating, especially the Gorgonopsids.
>dimetrodon is now an upright-standing, spike-sailed hell lizard
How does OP feel about the new Dimetrodon?
>>2304688
I like that expression. It's like
>please stop eating my baby. It's a good baby. It's not food.
>>2304984
I think the 'thing' walking like it doesn't care is funny
>Tiny crocodiles around the size of a green anole
This is a pretty selfish reason, but I've always wanted a small crocodilian as a terrarium pet. It'd be nice to have a tropical semi-aquatic tank and watch a miniature crocodile death-roll a cricket.
>Giant Insects
I don't mean giant as in horse sized, but as in fist sized horseflies and arm length dragonflies. Smaller insects would still be common of course, but It would be interesting to see if society or would change with the introduction of room sized wasp nests and mosquitoes the size of sparrows.
>>2306856
if giant insects like that still existed, they wouldn't ever exist in first world countries outside of captivity as it would be a threat to public health/safety (dragonflies less than wasps, of course, bug giant bugs like that with no intention other than to kill anything it thinks it can kill would pretty much have an open season on them constantly)
>>2306869
this
we'd make them extinct in the civilized world very quickly. you ever encountered an asian giant hornet before? i have. i was in a school building when one got in. the entire floor it was on panicked but nobody wanted to try killing it because it survived some attempted smackdowns and just got pissed off because of it.
i'd be concerned about large horseflies and arm-length dragonflies as they'd probably be able to kill children and small pets.
>>2306856
I wish there were sturgeon that stayed baby-sized their entire lives.
'sup /an/.
My puppy's reached her adult size, and now I want to buy a good harness for her, lasting several years.
What's a good and comfortable harness for a dog, then? She walks good in a leash, doesn't pull much and stops when reminded to, and she has a good "leave it" so I don't have to pull her off stuff either.
ruffwear has good quality harnesses but they're expensive
Why a harness OP?
If she's well behaved like you say a simple collar will work.
Show me your raw fed animals and their meals.

Doggo had venison/vegetable mix, blueberries, coconut oil, dehydrated kefir and kelp powder for breakfast
>>2313984
heh heh get a fucking hobby you weirdo. obsessing over your pets food is degenerate. you have a biological imperative to produce 3 offspring and you spend your foreveralone time buying kelp powder. hahah this board is pathetic as shit.
