Pet Pet Peeves

Why does this happen? I've had cats, dogs, and rodents that all do this.

my cat kept trying to climb up on the back of my monitor so she could attack the mouse pointer. I wouldn't mind normally but she was knocking the monitor out of place and off level

i put some double sided tape on the top edge of the monitor and she was pissed at me all night

I really hate skittish pets like mice and small birds. I mean like they irrationally piss me off. But of course I don't own anything like that.

Cats.

More of my dog's pet peeve, but she only eats half of her kibble.
Like, eats half straight down the middle and one kibble at a time.
Her 2 meals a day are then split into 4 small ones. It's very odd.

My cat in the past 4-6 months or so has been really weird and pestering me even after I feed her and do everything she normally wants. But I expected this. When pets hit the human equivalent of middle age, they seem to get a little neurotic about having the same routine every day. Imagine being 30 years old, not being able to shitpost, read, or play vidya and the food you eat is basically the same shit every day.

Now if I don't want this cat to keep pestering me I have to cook her fuckin' salmon steaks and prime rib and shit. I'll do it for her birthday, but otherwise I might finally put a lock on this broken ass door.

I had a very social mouse. He was a huge bro. Would walk right onto your hand and crawl around. He would even be pretty calm when I had to give him eye meds. He never bit me once.

However animals that can escape and get lost in your house pisses me off so I don't own small animals anymore

Eh, it's alright. Having several geckos ensures there is always at least one or two out and about during early evening hours. I wouldn't keep nocturnal species if the reclusiveness bothered me. One thing i didn't expect was the entertainment factor of the darkling beetles (mealworm beetles) i breed to feed the strict insectivore geckos. They have some funny behaviours.

Something similar happens to me
>cat sees me in computer
>wants to lay down on my legs
>let her come up, pet her, go on with my business
>decides she wants to sleep on my tablet
>constantly presses button and drags the mouse around with her feet and ass
She also makes me go to bed with her just so she can sleep besides me; if I go to the kitchen or to the bathroom she just follows me around and tries to lead me back
