people are very divided on crate training.
I'd say, outside of the scenario of house-breaking a very young puppy, crate training is terrible. dont do it

bones are great, but make sure they are uncooked (otherwise they'll splinter) and the right size for your dog.

Today marks the possible last week for my dog, Rocko. Here's some back story to him. We purchased him from a North Las Vegas project in Nevada, he's also a pitbull. He is only a year old, but he's been acting strange and attacked my brother today, which is why we are putting him down. This hurts me emotionally as my bond with this dog was strong. As I'm typing this, tears are rolling down my cheeks. The first thing Rocko had was a red sleeping bag that he used to sleep on the way home. It was Nov. 25, 2015 when my family purchased him. He was joyful and loved to play. When summer rolled around, he couldn't handle the heat and didn't eat often due to the pigeons stealing his food. He spent most of his time inside, which meant it was staying with he as everyone else was working during summer break. Every time I would get home it would be saying hello to him and meeting him inside. Fast forward to now, he snip my brother's lip over him taking his bone. Now I wait till next weekend for my dog to be put down. I don't know what to do for his final day. Any ideas would be great. His life with my family started off with a red sleeping bag and it's going to end over the blood dripping from my brother's lip.

Sorry it was a rough draft. My dog didn't eat due to the heat in the summer plus pigeons stole his food when he would rest. Plus he attacked my brother due to him taking away his bone when he started randomly growling at me when I was laying down on my bed.

I lost a very close friend today and I don't really have anyone to share this feeling with. Oscar was the name of my 6 year old tabby and he was an indoor outdoor cat who loved being around me. I hope there's a special place for our creatures that we become attached to who eventually perish. Anyways wanted to share this thought, I'll post a few pictures of him.

He was being treated in a vet clinic for an injury iirc. A cat who's uncomfortable and in a strange environment acting like a hell beast is common. Most places have a set of two of heavy gloves for handling the worst ones because of that. Doesn't help calm them down any, but it's necessary.
At home, he's probably a perfectly happy, normal cat.

Guys i need some advice for my cat. (pic related)
so here's what's happening. since Sunday i noticed my cat wasn't eating food anymore and only drinking very little bit of water. he also hadn't taken a shit since Saturday.
we took him to a vet to see what's going on and ended up paying $600 to get some test done. they said his kidney and liver looked great for his age (he's 16) and his blood work was also great. they gave him some medicine for nausea and treated him for dehydration also.
Everything seemed cool when we brought him home, he seemed like himself again. he came home went straight to the food bowl ate food and drank water. going into Monday we noticed again he wasn't eating hardly drinking water and still hasn't taken a shit. Tuesday was pretty much the same thing, only going to the bathroom to pee only and still not eating and drinking very little water. only thing he's been snacking on are some cat treats but that's it.
could it just be he's constipated? I don't have money again to spend on all these test they wanna run on him :(
tldr : is my cat dying :(?

Let's have a chicken thread, I couldn't find one in the catalog so I made one. I took pics of my roosters earlier. Can anyone tell me which one I should keep for breeding? I want to sell the other two. Thinking that I will keep the big one in pic related, I call him Jack, he looks the biggest to me. I just immediately assumed he might be the best to keep. And does anyone have any idea how much I can sell the roosters for? I guess they don't go for much but anything helps with buying more feed.

I'm looking at getting a cat, a bit of info about why it's such a conundrum for me:
Single guy with an apartment (no roommates), and when I go to work, I am gone for 3-4 days at a time. Then I am back for a week, and go back and repeat the process. Would that time alone be too much on the cat? I just want to make sure I'm not neglecting it by leaving it alone, and if so, I will just give up the idea altogether, since I cannot change my work schedule.
I went and saw the cat at the shelter today, and he was probably the nicest cat I've ever seen. Super affectionate, and wasn't shy at all around strangers. He's allegedly 9 months old. Thanks in advance for your advice!

im looking to keep a blue ring octopus, possibly the southern blue ring. i live in Australia so climate isnt much of an issue but how feasible is this? id get a large tank for sure, 4 foot wide. i know larger octopuses are intelligent but how does that scale down considering how small they are (10cm with legs i believe is the smaller species).
then of course keeping it entertained might be difficult.
