If you are given an assignment you don't understand, research as much as possible into the confusing aspects. I mean serious levels of research too not just a quick google search where you give up if you can't find the answer.

Also, don't be afraid to ask your colleagues for help. Don't rely on them unnecessarily or throw your work onto them, but if you make a friend in the office or can offer you the occasion pointer, it will help you.

Just find genuine friends, OP. A genuine friend is going to want to talk to you when you want to talk to them about 8 out of 10 times. A facebook friend is more akin to an acquaintance or class mate so when someone suddenly tries to escalate that into close friendship it comes off as clingy.

Granted, my family is heavily involved in multiple aspects of the medical field so I'm a bit biased in that I have absolutely no qualms about putting a doctor in their place because they are know who I'm related to, but still.

Basically they interned, went to a different company, stayed a few years (they knew the boss's daughter which is how they got the job according to the rumor mill), got fired, got the engineering technician job that they're trying to move out of.
