POST EM !
I was bored enough to do this but your template is too small desu multiply that shit by at least 4 imo
How many continues are you supposed to use when emulating MAME games?
>>3920402
As many as you want.
Unlimited 4 life.
Or 9 since some don't go past 9 credits.
None :^)
I have both Half-Life and Half-Life: Source in my Steam library, which do I play?
>>3920392
Just play the original, the new one for the doesn't really change much for the better but it doesn't have goldsrc mods
>>3920392
Source was just a slapped together port that doesn't really improve anything and even has some extra bugs. Also I think gibbing was removed in it.
>>3920392
Neither, buy or pirate a CD copy. They butchered a bunch of stuff with an unnecessary (and forced due to steam) update.

This game is great. The music, graphics, level design, and gameplay are all spot on. They finally made a good SotB game.
that's hard to believe when the first game is just DUDE PARALLAX LMAO
>>3920341
how many mega power is it
>>3920341
Just play it, it is actually a great game. The cinematics aren't as good as II, and the graphics aren't as good as I, but the gameplay is some of the best of any Psygnosis game.
Hi VR! So a bit more than a week ago I posted about the issues I was having connecting my pc to my crt and I got a lot of really helpful responses and first I'd like to thank everyone for the help already. So I was let in on the fact that my primary gpu (gtx 980) was wholly incompatible. So I took all the advice I could and picked up a new card (an AMD Radeon HD 7850) and went through all the steps described by Calamity in this thread here: http://geedorah.com/eiusdemmodi/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=1052#p1052 .
The installation of the drivers go through without a hitch just like in the thread but I begin to run into issues trying to complete the next step in VMMaker like Calamity shows in his thread. I've tried both the generic 15khz crt and arcade standard crt moniter profiles, then I move on to the emulated EDID making sure to uncheck "Extend desktop automatically on device restart" and select the right output analog. Now here is where in his guide, Calamity is able to just enable the emulated EDID and then his standard moniter will lose sync and upon plugging into his crt he has a usable picture. When I get to this step however my moniter does not lose sync but does change to a 640x480 interlaced looking resolution. Trying to plug in to my crt from there still leaves me with a signal not compatible with my tv as depicted in the first screenshot
>>3920267
Looks great!
Lastly to give all the information possible. When I switch back to my standard monitor and use it's OSD to display information about the current signal I get this screenshot here. Which tells me my computer is still only sending a 16khz signal for whichever reason. Any insight would be really appreciated
>normalfags are willing to pay $400 (not even fucking joking or exaggerating, look up Drakon) to have someone solder (hotglue, kek) some wires so that they can play their NES in glorious 16:9 aspect ratio
>they then complain that something went wrong
if you've ever payed someone to mod something for you, then you deserve everything that you get
>>3919891
I'm not sure what your point is. Some people just don't have the necessary fine motor control in their hands to solder microelectronics. And you need to learn how to use those tools too, I broke 1-2 consoles partially and 1 completely by the time I learned how to do it. And even after learning how to solder my own custom RGB cables, I'd rather just buy one online because it is a stupid fucking chore.
NES RGB upgrade is something else altogether, since it needs PPU replacement I think, or something like that. It's not just soldering a SPDT switch.
$400 for a Drakon hotglue job is over the line, but everyone agrees that that shit is a joke.
But you know what irks me more? People who install extra RCA or S-Video outputs, and then they connect them to the PCB with thin, unshielded cables.
>>3919925
>install extra RCA or S-Video outputs, and then they connect them to the PCB with thin, unshielded cables
Wait, really? I know diy modders are mostly dipshits but seriously?
That's like using cellophane and rubber bands as a condom
>not being crt master race
Fuck is wrong with people
nobody bothered to post so we died again edition

Tibia is a top down mmorpg from 1997. It was very popular in the early 2000s, and it still has a substantial amount of players.
It has a huge world which the player can explore and has a lot to do in terms of hunting and quests.
Currently we are on the world secura, a non pvp server. The official guild is yotsubas, and to apply you write your name here and we'll invite you. New players will get help with gear and on what to do, and help with hunting.
Latest news:
Cip is currently working on implementing Battleye into the client to combat the widespread botting problem

Don't be discouraged if you like playing the game.
I assume the guild is active on Secura?
The general interest in this game tends to fluctuate
I recently replaced the 72 pin connector in my NES, as I couldn't get the old one to work. It's working great now, but there's a strange new issue. Some games won't read unless the cartridge is pushed down, while others won't read unless the cartridge is left up. Still others require the cart to be balanced somewhere in between, with an object wedged in the slot to keep it in place.
What's going on here? There doesn't seem to be any logic to this. Different copies of the same game may require different positions. And while I can still play like this, having to remember the position each cartridge takes is annoying. Additionally, my Game Genie now requires the down position for some reason, which makes using it impossible.
Does anyone know why this is happening, and whether I can fix it?
>It's working great now
>Proceeds to list multiple ways how it's not working great.

1. Sell your NES to some hipster faggot.
2. Buy a Famicom.
Should have bought a BLW.
Why are Threads about Xenogears so rare in /vr/ ?
Shh, nobody else answer and just ignore this thread. It'll be funnier that way.

No idea. I've never posted there. But Gideon is kind of a hack. Although he's produced a lot of stuff, the quality of his work really isn't that great, and most of it involves collaborative efforts that are something like 20% Gideon and 80% translators or other third parties. He readily takes credit and donations for other peoples' contributions, however.

Aeon Genesis is pretty notorious for taking forever to make any progress so I wouldn't be too worried. Hell I've been waiting over a decade on SRW Alpha now.
Are these controllers worth it? £20 each on Amazon which seems pretty steep for a basic d-pad and buttons setup.
>>3917763
Hello there friend, I own two Buffalo controllers which I'm using in an almost daily basis for emulation.
I can safely say that they're among my best purchases ever made.
Their quality is excellent, and superior of the original ones. The d-pad and the buttons have a better feeling than the official snes one, and overall is more sturdy than the original ones too.
I got mine somehow cheaper, something close to 15€ from ebay Japan.
>>3917763
Also, this or 8bitdo?
>>3917763
I paid about $18 each for mine and I like them a lot. My only gripe is I wish the cord was a little longer.
Can we agree that pic related was superior to its american equivalent?
>Got every NES game that mattered and more
>More genre variety
>No translation errors
>Loads of unique and interesting accessories that actually added something
>You could fucking make your own homebrew games with the Famicom Basic
>You could save in Metroid
>You will never be a plucky young japanese kid in the showa era growing up with a famicom
>>3917589
As much as I like the NES I can't really think of anything it has over the Famicom.
I suppose I kind of like the VCR aesthetic it has going on, but the front-loading mechanism did more harm than good, so I'm not sure how to feel about it.
The NES has detachable controllers and composite out rather than just RF. Those alone are huge advantages. If you have a flashcart or an adapter, their libraries are effectively the same.
>>3917589
>You could save in Metroid
Look, if you wanna dicksuck on the Famicom, that's your business. But ask any japanese kid who had to deal with it, the FDS was a bad idea and the cart versions are superior just because you don't have to deal with the disks or the FDS unit itself.
Has there ever been a good Saturn emulator? I have been wanting one for 20 years
Good? Not really.
Somewhat decent? Yeah, SSF and Mednafen.
>>3916730
nope. I use SSF but its annoying to use
Ill jump in just to say I found it easier to ebay the console at 60 bucks, then buy the games. Not that I wanted to, I just live in Illinois and there were quite a few sold here so games arent as hard to come by.
Why is this game is so good? It's literally a perfect platformer. Nothing even comes close.
>>3915486
Probably because you like being rewarded for thinking ahead as opposed to having twitch reflexes. Try ghosts n goblins for both at once.
>>3915486
Castlevania 3 is a lot better
>>3915491
Why a troll? I genuinely think this is one of the best platformers ever made. The design is flawless, everything in the game has a direct purpose. The gameplay would be ruined with a fluid jumping mechanic, for example - very rarely is jumping a wise thing to do in Castlevania.
Super Castlevania 4, with all its fancy movement abilities, doesn't approach the straight-up challenging nature of CV1's levels. In fact, I find that game to have way too much filler areas and pointless enemies. In comparison, the six stages of CV1 are masterpieces in theme and restraint.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of this whole series and enjoy most of them, but I could play this fucker every day. If I were to pick my second favorite, it would be Dracula X.
tell me about the pc-98. what are some good games?
Another rec. thread...
