Are these controllers worth it? £20 each on Amazon which seems pretty steep for a basic d-pad and buttons setup.

Hello there friend, I own two Buffalo controllers which I'm using in an almost daily basis for emulation.
I can safely say that they're among my best purchases ever made.
Their quality is excellent, and superior of the original ones. The d-pad and the buttons have a better feeling than the official snes one, and overall is more sturdy than the original ones too.
I got mine somehow cheaper, something close to 15€ from ebay Japan.
>>
>>3917763
Also, this or 8bitdo?
>>
>>3917763

I paid about $18 each for mine and I like them a lot. My only gripe is I wish the cord was a little longer.
>>
>>3917783
I've heard the d-pad diagonals aren't great on the 8bitdo
>>
>>3917763
Lad, you already made this thread

Which makes it look even more shill powered. Fuck off OP, unless you make a generic controller thread.
>>
>>3917763
I paid $11 for mine on Amazon a year ago but wouldn't pay more honestly. At that point just get the 8bitdo.
>>
These things sell for like 1200 yen in Japan where Buffalo is based. If you're paying more than $15, you're getting ripped off by the importer.
>>
>>3918114

I mean I wouldn't call like 3 or 4 dollars to ship me a thing across the Pacific a "rip off"
>>
>>3918382
3 or 4 dollars maybe, but I think £20 in OP's case is pushing it (or is that just because of Eurotax?).

Still, the Buffalo's a solid controller, I own 3 of them.
>>
>>3917763
no
>>
>>3917763
Yes, it's an extremely well made controller, in addition to SNES emulation I also use it for PSP emulation, only payed like $18 for mine tho, if you're seriously paying ~$40 for one you're being Jewed
>>
>>3918629
>(or is that just because of Eurotax?).
I bought one for €9.76 last year.
>>
>>3917763
is there a way to connect a Buffalo controller to a Wii?
I tried googling 'USB-Gamecube' adapters but all the results were for Gamecube-USB adapters

The problem is supposedly caused by a slightly thicker d-pad in 8bitdo's case, so it can register diagonals when you don't want to.
Swapping in a SNES d-pad, or creating a spacer on the PCB like pic related apparently fixes the issue.

If you're willing to go through the trouble to fix it, I personally feel that the 8bitdo controller is the better choice, but I've used the Buffalo controller for a long while and loved it.
>>

Yes. There are many ways. The best would be to remove the CPU and USB cable and replace it with your own CPU and GC cable. There are all sorts of ways to do it with adapters but you've really fucked yourself by going with a USB controller. With an original controller you can easily find a near zero lag adapter. But you fell for the meme so you eliminated that possibility.
>>
The iBuffalo is absolutely great. They have become more expensive lately when you buy them locally. A while ago I bought 6 of them for about 15 bucks each.
>>
What do you mean locally?
>>
>>3920768

In the country you live in instead of importing them yourself.
>>
>>3917763
Buffalo's d-pad is perfect.
>>
>>3917763
>>3920883
Near perfect. But yeah, the d-pad is really good.
The buttons are also good. And the shoulder buttons feel super nice. Yep.
>>
>>3921062
The pad is too sharp. My thumbs hurt after playing.
>>
>>3921070
I'm sorry to hear that your thumbs are made of mashed potatoes. Bless you.

And how good are these adaptors for the Wii?
>>
>>3921106
Not great since its a USB pad.

I use one of these for my wii. I think the same company make all different types of adapters.
>>
>>3921106
Get a Raphnet SNES to GameCube adapter. Near zero lag and plugs directly into the Wii's GC port.
>>
>>3921494
Should have got one of these >>3921534

It's by the same guy but obviously by plugging directly into the console you don't get bluetooth lag
