Basing doesn't seem too specific. Round or square, lipped... so long as it's reasonable it should be fine. Most things on a 25mm base, bigger dudes on 32/40mm bases, and tiny things on 20mm bases. Maybe some cavalry bases if you're playing modified rules for mounts. Shouldn't need anything larger.

So... Here's an interesting, if roundabout thing I found that you can do:

Here's a huge list of official and unnofficial Lego Building software, where you can create fully colored 3d models. Most, if not all of them have the ability for you to export to a 3d model format, colors intact.
From there it's a simple matter of converting and exporting it from Blender to be usable with TTS, or BattleBox3D(A free, Windows-only alternative to Tabletop Simulator)

I also dabble in 3D Modeling, so I'd be more than willing to create a large 3d base for BB3D that will work with the Snap-to-grid feature.

I'm interested in this, and it'd be awesome to see /tg/ get shit done again, but you have to realize something: /tg/ is lazy as fuck. If you want to make this a thing and get it going, you're going to need to do a lot of the legwork to get this started. Namely finding a game, gathering the models, and creating a repo so anyone can drag, drop, and get started playing.
Fortunately, there's two incredibly popular Wargames with most of the models already made officially by lego: X-wings and Armada. Get that started, and work on other stuff, and you'll get something started.
Oh, and don't bother with 40k at first. The game sucks, so it's really about the models and the lore, not actually playing.

This is a recipe for civil war right quick. The peasants that were in support of killing magic uses just for being magic users will end up under the thumb of nobles that hate me.
The nobles are either going to pass a shitton of laws that undermine the edict that grants rights and citizenship to mages, for example making it illegal in the region to be in possession of "magical paraphernalia that may be used to undermine kings peace".
The only way to actually avoid this kind of situation is to roll all magic users into the Royal army, granting them citizenship in the process. This way only I have access to magical troops, giving me a significant advantage should the noblemen get out of line.

It's important to know that the regiment is now in the employ of a radical Ordo Xenos Inquisitor, with influence from an Ordo Malleus Inquisitor and under the watch of an Ordo Hereticus Inquisitor. Yes we've been through a lot of shit.

Hahaha. No, not really.
It's good enough value that it's an autoinclude in most blue decks, but it's not oppressive or format-warping in the way that Twin or Eldrazi Winter were.
The REAL problem with snappy is low print runs + the ability to easily slot into every deck leading to a huge disparity between supply and demand and therefore stupidly high prices.

For the pure of hear the area in the vicinity of "Blinded by Rainbows" takes on a fairytale appearance. Colors are more vibrant, noises are clearer, and everything seems a little more brighter and more magical.
If there's evil in your heart, however, the noises and colors become grating to you. Most people are a little bad and find the effect unsettling. Worse than that, and the effect becomes distracting or even nauseating if you're a really crap person. For the truly evil, the effect is overpowering and they become literally blinded, deafened, and stunned by the goodness surrounding them.

Were Slayers ever good? I can't remember them being used on tabletop rather than the usual Dorf Artillery tactics. Even in TW WH I can't see much use beyond monstrous guys & that's not when they're being raped by cycle charges.

The lack of armor made them useless. I saw a single, ten-dwarf unit of Slayers in some dwarf armies I faced every now and then, but they ware brought because of fluff reasons or because they are cool (they are!), they pretty much always ended up getting slaughtered as nobody wanted to spend points on a good character for such a nonsense unit.
