What are some alternatives to an eye-patch for a character who is missing an eye, or can only see out of one eye?
Character is a druid so I'm tempted to just have them keep that eye shut a la Guts.
I can think of a few.
>Cloth/bandanna wrapped around head.
>Just keep it shut
>Glasses with one lens blacked out
>A patch of fabric sewed into skin over eye
>Phantom of the opera style half-mask without an eye hole
>Flower/plant over the eye
>>52065804
To build off >>52065917
>Crystal/Wood/Stone Eye. Runes or carvings optional
>grown over scar tissue
Barkskin grown over that side of the face to look almost treeant like.
So, I'm planning to run a game of World of Darkness soon where the masquerade has been broken.
Is there anything I should be aware of for such a game? I'm thinking about ruling that supernatural enforcement of the masquerade is still up and running. This means Lunacy, Disbelief, and Changeling Masks are still running at full force. A mortal might know and accept that a mage is magical, but their presence will still fuck up their magic. Does this make sense according to WoD's cosmology?
I've also written in that Detroit has been surrounded by eternal darkness in a 300 mile radius. Vampires still fall weary to daysleep but otherwise no longer have to fear the sun. How would this impact vampire society? I imagine ghouls would become less useful to younger/higher humanity vampires.

You mean to tell me we got blood suckers heavily conesraed in this one area? NUKE IT
>>52064625
No, the second everyone knows that magic is real the Consensus would change and reality would modify itself accordingly.

>the Masquerade has been breached
Everywhere on Earth? And it's been irreversibly, undeniably shattered? How was it breached? Who was behind it? Was it mages? Hunters? Maybe even demons? Some kind of international supernatural investigation agency?
Before you can even begin asking "does this make sense with the cosmology" you need to provide a lot more detail on how and why the Masquerade was broken to this extent, because that will have an incalculable impact on how your setting differs from regular World of Darkness.
Help me /tg/, 3 years and i canĀ“t solve this shit

I'm making a card game to play with some friends of mine for fun. The rules are similar to YuGiOh but gutted with some tweaks made.
Anyway, I'm making cards and need good pictures of ships, fighters, planets, space scenery etc.
So, ship thread? I'll start by posting a few of the cards I have done. Warning, they're really basic as we're just kinda doing this to pass the time.
So I'm making a mermaid PC for a modern fantasy RPG and I'm having trouble deciding on attributes and traits for her. I generally like my characters to be grounded in a cultural heritage, but the background of mythological creatures is kind of a blank slate. Given that every major seafaring culture has had merfolk myths, I'm thinking merfolk probably don't have 'one' society anymore than humans do, and can be roughly divided by ocean and region.
I know how I want her to appear physically more or less - she has a human form that's 'normal', but subtly alien. Slightly too large eyes, pale skin, dark black hair that's actually green, two rows of teeth (the front are sharp and sawlike like a shark, the rear are grinders). I want her to have webbed fingers and toes, displayed by the fact she wears bridal gauntlets and stirrup legged wetsuit like cloths that leave her bare handed and barefoot. I'm thinking about some kind of tattoo markings or natural skin markings, at least lines over her gills.
Right now I'm thinking of making her terribly British, mostly because I find that amusing.
For contextual background, mythological creatures were just reintroduced into a modern world along with magic within the last few decades, so myth creatures are sort of reintegrating with modern society and bringing their own twist along with it. Magic exists but is technically explained via quantum physics.
Due to the events of the previous campaign and an alien invasion the tumult and bloodshed you would usually imagine to come from this has been handled, though of course there's lingering shades of 'fucked' all over the world which is encouraging a push towards off world settling. It's sort of like Shadowrun but space opera instead of cyberpunk.
So right now I need suggestions for what a merfolk society that is a reflection of post modern human society might look like. What their culture might be. For arguments sake let's focus on atlantic/north/Baltic Sea, though I'm open to other suggestions
Things I've nailed down:
She likes sweets because they're mostly alien to her
She has a pet miniature kraken
She sleeps in a literal water bed
She likes Japanese food for obvious reasons
Do you ever brew your spells?
Do you ever stop posting shitty fetish threads?

Alas no, there was a lack of interest.
From a starframe design and tech-specs perspective, I love the Luna class from the Titan novels, but I think they completely jumped the shark with the muh diversity overload in terms of the crew. Is there any material dealing with Luna-class starships that isn't a Tumblr wet dream, or am I going to have to write it myself?

>security guards starts taking potshots at the party, they all pile in the van
>guy with best driving skill fails roll, van crashes into side of concrete gate
>they all pile out and breach the main building, all of them going in different entrances
>FBI agent #1 walks through the main door, instantly dies from burst of 5.56
>DEA agent takes cover in a doorway, takes a 9mm to the shoulder and passes out, bleeds out a few rounds later
>FBI agent #2 tries to shoot M4 guy, gun jams, gets shot through the wall and dies next turn
>EPA analyst tries to shoot MP5 guard, gun jams, takes a 9mm to the chest and bleeds out a few rounds later
>literal TPK from two glorified mall cops
>>51987559
When we played it took every time loop. Half the party got sucked up by the Azathoth blob because they were out of Willpower (thanks to the constant 'POW save and lose D4 WP and SAN' rolls) and taking a nap in the car while the other two agents went inside to kill everyone. The rest of the team ran away and hid in the woods after killing the researchers, and since they weren't "observing" the effect anymore due to temporary insanity, the portal closed with nobody watching it and mini-Azathoth got slurped back up.
>literal TPK from two glorified mall cops
Not really a problem (besides the SAN damage) unless the last 'save point' was after they got shot, right? Also if I remember correctly from the briefing, the guards at the array are combat veterans, hardly "glorified mall cops".

Because my swole dudes/ladies tend to be too chaotic, self-interested, or focused on things other than fitness and sportsmanship to be Kurgess followers.
Your right hemisphere begins to acts independently from your left hemisphere.
How much of a hipster are you, /tg/?
As in does something you like getting popular/mainstream bother you?
The obvious example would be ASoIaF or, to a lesser extend D&D.
>>52062950
I don't like Game of Thrones, because I think it's a bastardization of the books. Does it make me a hipster?

I don't like ASoIaF, because I think it is a bastardization of the war of the roses. Does that make me a hipster?
>>52062950
I sometimes get that, mostly for manga getting an anime adaptation and people gushing about stuff I've read years ago (also mostmanga styles lose a lot in the transition), but I mostly manage to not remark upon it.
As in, I don't particularly care for Will Wheaton or his show, so I just don't watch it.
>>52062981
Wouldn't think so, since your gripe is with the adaptation, not its popularity.

Question for DMs: What blatant 1:1 ripoff for a story/NPC/adventure/hook/quest/item/etc. were you able to get away with without the players realizing they were in the middle of your take of the Empire Strikes Back (or others)? Did it result in flying colors or a flat-out bust?
Question for Players: When was the last "horrible decision" moment your party had? Has it affected the campaign severely or not much?
