>Playing?
Death's Shadow. Loving it
>Hating?
The one guy at my LGS who also plays Jund. He's extremely obnoxious and I always get paired against him every night
>Thoughts on the current meta?
Pretty satisfied, but mostly because I have the best deck. Hope they do some unbans soon.
>Playing?
Grixis Control / Delver / Midrange
>Hating?
Nothing Much.
>Thoughts?
The meta seems healthy all things considered.
Should I buy a playset of Tarmogoyfs to complete Death's Shadow Jund or will something get the axe?
Why is /tg/ so negative about 3D Printing?
Shills from an industry that doesn't want to have to invest in writers and designers instead of a monopoly on legal figures.
A combination of the understandable scepticism towards any new technology plus the fact it's in its infancy.
Right now, 3D printing is a very basic thing not up to the standard of the vast majority of traditional games. It might be able to make decent replacements for simple board game components, for example, but consumer grade 3D printed miniatures are vastly below even low standards.
Will it get better? Yes, in all likelihood, and attitudes will likely change along with it. But people aren't generally in the habit of investing their faith in that kind of promises before they're given solid evidence.
>>52036973
Change will never happen if you just wait it to happen.
Are humans at the top of the food chain in your setting? If not, who or what is the true apex predator?
Dragons. Sure, humans Can kill them. but dragons kill a lot more humans than humans kill dragons.
>>52031106
Frankenstein Tarrasques.
>>52031106
elves and dragons
Are many people on /tg/ keeping an eye on this game?
I've heard a couple of people suggest it could draw a lot of the Warhammer Fantasy fans who were turned of by Age of Sigmar, since it's a rank-and-file fantasy wargame. But I personally doubt that alone would be enough to really draw the WHFB crowd in, especially considering how generic the Runewars setting seems to be. There are only two factions revealed so far, and they're mostly generic fantasy humans vs. generic fantasy undead.
What I can tell of the rules looks interesting, though. It looks like a combination of rank-and-file fantasy with aspects of X-Wing (secret, simultaneous action planning and upgrade cards) with an objective system like Armada's.
I guess I don't know what to make of it. Maybe if there were more than two factions revealed I'd have more of a feeling about it. Because god are the two factions so far generic.
>>52022964
no idea, if that game takes interest in the WHFB crowd
but I guess, they are rather interested in Kings of War anyway...
>>52022964
Saw demo on GenCon, Humans looks a meh, but skelies are good
>>52023089
Yeah, that was the other thing that occurred to me. If WHFB oldfags were looking for a new game, they probably already found one.
>>52023113
In terms of models, or in terms of strength/abilities?
How would Warhammer 40K change if the Flood appeared. Which faction, other than the necrons, would be able to beat those abominations?
>>52019497
None of them, including the crons.
/thread.
>>52019497
Salamanders.
>>52019533
Necrons would have an advantage over the Flood as they do not have biomass for the Flood to consume. I think the Tyranids would be completely eviserated as the Flood is a massively more efficient and virulent version of them

Thread Question:
Weapon speed. Is it good, or is it wack?
>>51998762
dammit, I forgot the header :(
What do you guys think about a multi-genre OSR system?
I feel like something where everything is a stat 3 to 18, and rolls are 1d20 + the stat versus TN 21.
Skills, if they existed (and probably would to a small degree if it was generic) would work similarly.
Not sure about hit dice or how attack bonuses would go.
I dunno, does this sound at all interesting or just total whack? Cause I'm leanin toward the latter right now but the idea still intrigues me.
>>51998824
I like it, but I feel we already have what we need if we want to do the set Challenge Rating in the shape of the "Seige" engine.

Thoughts?
The worst part of Acq Inc is that Wil Wheaton should have been a staple the whole time, but they killed him off.
I do like Perkins as a DM though. Sad it doesn't look like he'll be a part of this.
>>52049394
If he was still there, I wouldn't watch it any more because he's perhaps the most unbearable cuck in the world. I can barely stand the fat fuck as it is without him.
>>52049446
Who, Weaton or Perkins is the unbearable cuck?
hello /tg/ i need some help.
im looking for a new role play system.
ive tried gurps, d&d3.5, pathfinder, d&d5 and ashes of valkana.
what im looking for:
-low fantasy or even no magic
-the characters arent OP or even not exceptionally strong.
-its hard to make ends meet.
-getting into fights is very dangerous, and is far from being the first instinct.
i know a lot of people are looking to become demigods and command the universe, but by any chance is there a system to play filthy peasants in?
>>52047061
I'd also like to know.
im looking to run a campaign with the focus not on an epic quest, but on harsh survival and transition from basically street urchins to powerful people in society.

Do you think it's funny replacing the Duncan videos with gay unrelated trash? Fucking kill yourselves.
Alright /40k/, since guilliman is back we can expect new things to be invented by him and the ad mech in GC 2.0
So what is the number one thing you would want to see for your favorite imperium army? A new tank for IG, mk9 power armour, or spmething really creative, like actually good rough riders?
So, this doesn't work, right ? As CSM I can't take an allied detachment of CSM, the fact I pick them as word bearers while the main detachment is night lords doesn't allow me ?
Pathfinder General /pfg/
Guns Edition
Guns! Everyone loves them... except not! What is your opinion on firearms in fantasy settings? Do you like them or prefer bows, crossbows and sword duels? Let's disregard Pathfinder rules for firearms and pretend they are usable, that's a more general question. You can still bash Paizo, that never goes out of style.

Great image OP.
You got both katana and guns, two weapon with complete retards that whine and bitch when their weapons can't finish encounters in a single attack.
They are pretty helpful in identifying worthless players but just like most other DMs, I remove both of them for my setting to avoid conflict with players who spend to much of their money collecting those and want to masturbate a game when they dominate.
Guns are like dragons or demons
They could have a place in high fantasy if people did not ruin it by trying so fucking hard to be THAT edgylord with his special darkness guns.
So! How was your weekend, /pfg/? Do anything fun or exciting, game-related or otherwise?
How would you react to the idea of a fantasy setting where a significant portion, if not the majority of noblemen were once Adventurers?
I don't think it's too much of a stretch. Nobles earned title through great deeds, in the real world through political or military support of the Monarch, but such rewards also being given to those who slew dragons or saved princesses is a quite common fantasy staple.
But while the ex-adventurer noble is often an exception to the rules, it could be interesting to see a world where it was expected for every nobleman to have once been a spell slinger or sword swinger of note. Even generations down the line, nobles might require their heirs to go adventuring, to win a degree of fame and reputation for their deeds to be considered worthy of their inheritance, and so on.
Do you think this could be an interesting addition to a setting, /tg/? What sort of plot hooks or characters do you think the situation would create?
I can see there being tension between the adventurer nobles and the more standard political/mercantile nobles, complicated by the fact that marriages and so on are still a necessary part of the social fabric, which those with the experience of free spirited adventuring might rather balk at.
>>52046084
The Border Princes from Warhammer Fantasy are all city-states that were founded by ex-adventurers from various human nations.

The backstory to Majesty 2 springs immediately to mind as one possibility.

After the End Times, I decided to take a step back from GW, even 40K. So, tg, (and this anon writes as a former Tomb Kings player) is it worth getting into 9th Age? I don't want go anywhere near Age of Sigmar, and as much as I love 40K; I refuse to buy into GW for the time being. Regardless, how does 9th Age look? Is the competitive scene good, and the player base alive? So-on and so forth.
9th Age is a pretty solid game. It has strayed a bit farther from WFB than some would like. There is a decently sized competitive scene though and the rules are much better than 8th was. Balance is pretty great.
They talk about 9th Age in the WFB general thread.
>>52044344
T9A has turned into garbage. Solved some issues but has now generated its own batch, but the issue is that the players are so up their own ass they don't want to believe so and they are more entitled than princes of caledor.
Seriously, go play KoW and avoid those cancerigenous elements, it will be better for your health.
>>52044411
KoW is dog shit.
Though I haven't played 9th in a while. It would be a shame to hear it has gone down hill.
