What's the big deal with gas? Why the taboo?
Its humane. Its efficient. Its a better way to deal with a belligerent populace than fire bombing (buildings aren't damaged). And its certainly better than leaving a populace to its own devices (see Cape Town or Baltimore)
Lethal gas should be more common in the battlefield and in law enforcement uses, not less. Let's applaud its use, its cleaner than any gun could be.

Was the MiG-23 any good? We hear a lot about the MiG-21, -25, and -29, but never about the Flogger.
Also, is the M-G-27 any good as an attack jet?
>>33578214
>Was the MiG-23 any good?
Good god no. The MiG-23 was a poor attempt to create a frontline fighter with better takeoff performance than the MiG-21 and the ability to use radar guided missiles. The result was a sub-par fighter with a horrifically high pilot workload and numerous design flaws. Engine issues on many models meant that pushing the aircraft to its limit would have fan blades shear off and kill the engine, and with the pilot responsible for not just flying the plane, but
>managing swing-wing mechanism
>managing workload-heavy radar/missile system
it's no surprise that the MiG-23 suffered from a pretty poor accident rate and service record. The Ethiopians, for example, had arguably the best trained air force in Africa when they received their first MiG-23s, and almost immediately started crashing them once they entered service. The only positive combat reports I've ever seen about the MiG-23 were over Angola, where Angolan Floggers had all-aspect IR AAM and the SAAF Mirages didn't, so they could fire off missiles as they closed without any real threat to themselves.
The MiG-27/23BN was a bit better from what I understand, with the variant coming about after many of the kinks of the MiG-23 were sorted out. It also greatly simplified the design and ended up being a slightly higher-tech complement to the Su-17. However, once the Su-24 came out, it ended up in this unique niche where the Su-17 did "dumb" bombing cheaper and the Su-24 did long-range precision strike much better,
>>33578214
Swing wings were all the rage.
Then people noticed that they tend to be a bit more trouble than the benefits given.
That and the 23 is pretty mediocre compared to the comparable US and Soviet planes before and after.

Assuming my assumptions are wrong and you actually have shot a gun in your life...
You don't have to go get more ammo when you use all your ammo at the range?

this is why it's ok

mud.

And an open design.
Cause the bolt has to reciprocate to cycle the weapon. And that exposed spring in the back gets easily fucked with mud.
In my wonderful state i can only hunt with single action guns no semis.
My plan is to get a cheap sks take the gas block off. Weld / drill tap and put a hex screw in the hole.
Boom straight pull sks for hunting.
Thoughts?
>>33574927
A cheap SKS nowadays is like 450 bucks and it's getting hard to find good ones, so don't do that.
You can get a new Savage Axis for like $330 and it'll kill durr better than an SKS can.
Just buy a cheap durr gun, a good one will be less than a sks and you don't have to bastardize an otherwise good rifle
Bubba, pls no.

I got conned into depositing a "police officer's" paycheck because he really wanted the P320 I am selling and couldn't wait. Once I gave him my name and address for the check he sent me a tracking number. I got this weird piece of paper saying something like "We are thankful for your help but there is one more thing we need you to do. Please call blahblahblah." I can't find it but it wasn't the best English, if you know what I mean. The "paycheck" that came with it was $2500.
Then came the badgering texting. I mean this guy was relentless-- over 200 texts in 2 days-- in getting my attention and getting me to wire him the leftover funds after considering the price of the gun and shipping and a finder's fee. And he was also specific about sending amounts less than $900. And when the transactions wouldn't go through because the amounts were too similar he gave me the names of people in CA and TX, while he claimed he was a police officer in MA.
After I sent the "fair" amount I tried for the third time to go ship it to the FFL he provided. He then told me he didn't want the item anymore since he found a better deal. Of course he wanted me to transfer the rest, minus a $100 "restock fee." I was pissed but did it because I committed long ago to making the sale and not being a bad guy in business. And of course there's a hold on my account with the check I deposited-- it may not have been certified as he claimed (and I wouldn't know how to tell when looking at it, anyways).
So there goes two years of savings and I'm now officially one broke ass motherfucker if this money really disappears, which I am all but certain it will. And what can I even do about it but bend over and take it?
Lesson learned-- don't be a nice, trusting person in trade and don't be a dumbass-- if it seems fishy, it probably is.

You're such a retard you deserve to be conned. Actually I wish I was the one conning you.
>>33574645
How did you lose money if he was the one buying a gun from you, and he never took delivery? Your post is terribly worded.
What is the one gun you have that you would never be able to sell? One that has no price tag?
It doesn't even need to be a gun. Just the one thing you will turn down the world to keep.

Guilty. I'm a cheap fuck. I did end up paying less than 200 before tax at least. Been selling stuff on the local craigslist like crazy to make it happen. Even all of my snowflake brass for funs I don't own.
