How the hell i can compite with artists who gives pretty cheap prices for commissions? I cannot compite with a full render body commission below $20 or less than that.
>>3101413
Make higher prices as people feel that they're getting a high quality product.
>>3101413
Agree to draw ANYTHING. Corner the market on cub scat. I cant imagine many are willing to draw that.
>>3101413
Welcome to currency exchange rates. You will never technically be able to outbid an artist from the Philippines or SA to whom $20 could be the equivalent of $200 or more.
>>3101422
Pretty much this, just price your stuff honestly, it's all you can do.

What art style is this? I want to be able to sketch like this.
For those who may know I have a few questions:
1. Any particular resources for learning the fundamentals to this school of art?
2. How many hours would you estimate it requires to make a single one of these characters (with and without coloring)?
3. How much money would I need to spend to be able to start making art like this?

>What art style is this?
I'm not sure if there's a specific name. It's just realistic illustration. Basically just learn solid draftsmanship and painting, there's nothing magical or out of the ordinary here.
It'll take you a number of years to reach that level though. Once you are at that level each one might take anywhere from a day to a few days, depending on your personal speed and how good your reference is.
Get good reference, then draw it

if it is the 40s/50s style you like, look into american commercial illustration. and read loomis books. this is literally the type of work andrew loomis did.
Hi everyone! I am new to this board and came here because of it being for art (and it seems critiques are available too!) These are my artworks. To give some idea of what I like to draw and for how long, I like drawing Sonic art and comic style. I've been drawing for as long as I can remember, and I love drawing frequently but I am a hobbyist as well.
These are my drawings of primarily OCs and Sonic art and some other stuff. I would love a critique. :D For starters, this is my Inkling OC Takana done in pencil.

My take on Garnet from Steven Universe using a palette challenge. The next post is from another palette challenge but this time of Arin Hanson/Egoraptor from Gamegrumps.
is normal to be jealous of others to the point of not enjoying their art anymore
>>3096694
Yeah, but I usually get over that soon enough
I used to be like that when I was younger (as in 15), after a while you will learn to get over it and their artwork will start to inspire you to work harder to someday reach that level. Dont worry.
>>3096694
Yes, it happened to me with akairot.
that guy bastardized my favorite characters from nintendo with all his senseless lewd art from smash bros.
He's quite good though

I think this is the only time I lied about drawing something that wasn't mine, which is why it's such a strong memory.

Same here, except instead of bugs bunny I traced Final Fantasy characters from the manuals and said I did it.
I've never read anything by Loomis.
i'm not a robot
where do i go to learn to make memes? :D
I'm very lazy, I'm usually too lazy to make art as it's time consuming and difficult. I was also too lazy to get a relevant picture, so there's my cat.
I've looked at Lazy Nezumi Pro and I'd probably be a lot more motivated to draw whilst using it.
Does anybody have a copy that they could give me?
Thanks guys.

What if it's risky? I don't want to be tracked by anybody. God forbid somebody finds out about what porn I'm into.
Actually, I have a question about Lazy Nezumi. How many of you use it? I haven't seen it mentioned on this board anywhere, but an artist I know says that like every professional uses it. Is it true?
Hey people of the internet wassup...
just kidding, I was wondering if you guys could break down The Pit's art, I really think his female characters so stunning, I can't even get hard looking at it anymore, I just admire, and I would like to learn his style for tthe female face, any tips n tricks n shit ?
>>3101760
Literally who?
>>3101760
He's using a fabled, secret shovel style.
let me explain in a bit.
First you tak a shovel and orient it on a canvas in the way you seem fit.
Then you draw a guidlines based on shovel's properties.
Then you slap Pit™ certified lips and cartoony style nose and eyes with excessive ammount of thickness
Add some detail and remove the shovel!
Here' you go.
Who are some people who made really good life-life sculptures?
Pic related is by Jean Antoine Houdon.
>>3103475
man I don't think you're going to get a lot of responses, given this is more of a 2D art form board.
I really love the sculpture where Mary is holding a dying Jesus, I can't remember what the sculpture is called *googling* ah yes Michelangelo's pieta.
>>3103475
Look up Roman portrait sculpture.

WHY IS EVERYONE BETTER THAN ME
Hey
I did not get any answer in the question thread, so i thought we could have a thread discussing this.
so, i watched sinix's new video on design theory
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZluGXgpdJj4 [Open]
and i got pretty interested in boosting my design theory knowledge, any good resources to learn more about it?
Feel free to post inspiration, tutorials etc..
Pic unrelated, posting from phone.
I remember reading about this once on muddycolors but I can't seem to find the article anymore and google doesn't turn it up either. Maybe someone else has the link. It had a bunch of examples of artists making use of small medium large shapes in their designs, including some character designs by Milt Kahl.
Go through - http://www.autodestruct.com/ - his design lectures.

sorry i am a famous painter and i dont want to reveal my masterpieces to 4chan, you can find it in one click on internet though.

I'm not a famous painter but I am an artistic genius and if I was to reveal my work on here you'd be like WTF? You'll be seeing me in the future.
>>3085284
I'm an amazing artist but horribly disfigured and I don't want to offend anyone with a masterfully crafted depiction of borderline-gore. You can use your imagination if you want, but I wouldn't recommend it.
Thoughts on my clay Pepe?
