So I draw like 4-6 hours a day studying my fundamentals and applying it to personal work as if I'm trying to become a professional. Which in retrospect is ridiculous. Why dedicate such a large amount of time to art when you don't even plan on getting paid for it when you could be using that time for fitness and social relationships
>>3107394
Because I actually enjoy drawing and don't care for fitness or social relationships.
>>3107394
I think this thread might be b8 but whatever.
I dunno. What do you want? Do you want to be pro? If not then practice 30min - 1 hr day, go spend rest time party and build gainz.
>>3107394
then why do you do it then if it's so ridiclous?
when can you start calling yourself an artist?
"art" has become so vague in modern times anything can be construed as art. aren't we all artists of some sort in life?
this is the type of bullshit someone who doesnt want to study

not important
GUys, this is my latest painting. I wanted to make a painting based off a sketch i did of my parents varanda. I was a bit inspired by cezanne .not sure if that is comming through. I kind of dont want to do perspective anymore...I want to add character to my paintings..really find a character in them (is that too deep?).
Harsh crit alwayse welcome.
ironically shit like this could be worth something.
How does it feel knowing that some modern artist is making bank while you fags grind fundamentals hoping to get recognized?
>>3106465
Looks good. Try an under drawing in charcoal on your next picture.
>>3106465
good composition, maybe try a limited palette next time. less is more sometimes
the tiles have a nice decorative feel to it, but the blue and orange are really distracting in the composition.
IF YOU ARE A /BEG/INNER IN ART, please use this thread to post pieces for critique or ask for advice. We should not have to make new threads or post in the Drawthread with our fundamental exercises.
Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make someone proud.
RESIZE YOUR IMAGES TO ~1000 PIXELS:
#1)
>screenshot the image and post that instead
#2)
>change camera capture settings to something smaller
#3)
>send to computer and resize in MSPaint

TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless.

Loomis isn't ugly tho
I feel like I can only draw for about 20 minutes before falling apart.
I certainly did. It was partially to blame for sycra. "drawing is the ultimate foundation, stop rendering turds and draw" so I took it to the extreme and just drew for 2 years. Pic related is where I'm at

just let it die...
anyone know anything about this sculpture? its about 10 inches tall and heavy. Seems to be carved out of one piece of stone. its about 20 years old. No artist signature or name on it.
My guess is its an aboriginal piece, and maybe soap stone, you'll probly never find out anything more about it, and its probably not worth much.

i think is made by or in the style of brancusi's artwork but i'm not sure
Why be an artist when it contributes nothing to society?
>>3100281
Society should fail and art should record its degradation over time.
>>3100284
our society is doing well though
we make hundreds of scientific advancements and slowly change the world for the better while the failures make videogames and porn of cartoon girls to express their virgin rage
>>3100286
Okay but I have no reason to care about upholding that because society is generally problematic
Is there a smudge guard that wont be detected on a touchscreen?
If your hand touching the screen is causing issues, just keep your hand lifted so it doesn't touch the screen. Thick enough fabric should also work.

Do you need to be great at drawing to make popular comics?
I made this drawing, but I'm unsure if I'm good enough.

Terrific. Delightful. You're a natural!
No, popular comics are all about the writing.

End me.
>>3104228
Just do gouache for now, it will build up your painting skills and transfers well to working in oils. Or open your window and get a fan to ensure ventilation then use oils and paint small.
At least you don't share a room
