What are some good Instagram people to follow for reference?
I've been using Rachel Scheer (pic related) as reference and I want more muscular/lean people.

There's some insta page called milleniummodels or something like that. They repost a lot of different female models.
>be me
>practice drawing everyday for years and want to be a professional artist
>finally got my first commission last month after years of practice
>mfw the first commission I got was to draw a furry porn with milf dog and shota rat
>I never even drawn a furry character before but did it anyway because I'm poor and needed the money
>after finish drawing, I realize that I'm becoming what I hated the most
>mfw it's only for 10$
I only ever want to draw cute anime girls for a living, is it time to stop bros?
Nah.
milf dogs >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> anime girls
>>3095799
yes.
well, you don't need to stop.
get a job and keep drawing anime girls as a hobby. it's already a hobby, you were just pretending you wanted it as a job.
>>3095799
You are being lowballed. Even if you were the shittiest artist in the world, furry nsfw should be worth at least three times that amount .

Are there any cheap dirty tricks to get all your values correct and locked down if you're working directly from a photo reference, so that you can focus on your brushwork? Without getting that cheap look of photobashing?
Check your colors by using the color picker.
in order of scuminess
Draw from Grid
Color pick
Paint Over
>>3104249
How do you do paintovers? It'd make sense if Photoshop have the ability to color pick off of specific layers, but it doesn't.
Have any of your OCs become used regularly on 4chan? I did this Aaron Rodgers ball and I see it regularly on /sp/ kek.

I once made a shitty 10 minutes pepe edit for a thread on /vg/ and then someone reposted it on leddit and it became super popular for a while, and I cringed every time I saw it
never again
MARKER
Hi guys. What minimal set of markers are you using for comics.
I am thinking of 0,3 hard and some wide soft brush
Zebra disposable brush pens for primary inking, an assortment of black pigmented fineliners for jobs requiring precise and/or detailed lines (I'm using Pilot drawing pens 01, 02, 03, 05 and 08) and a bristled brush pen with pigmented ink for anything brushy (i'm using a Kuretake No. 8 and a Pentel Pigment Extra Fine).

Wow
So much thank
I bought yesterday blk pig liner 0.05 (satisfied) and 1mm permanent marker (not good idea about the second one)
Anyway thanks again. Maybe this thread will help others too :)
Anyone here use oil? How do I consistently mix up a string of 10 values with even "distance" between them?
I can get there eventually by trial and error, but it means I'm adding more and more paint to the palette, way more than I need.
I tried doing it via the volume of each paint added, but the pigments don't seem to mix proportionally.
As you can see, even the gradation where I used 40 strips each mixed separately on the palette suffers from 'unsmoothness' of the value steps.
This is frustrating because controlling value in charcoal is SO easy. Fuck.
This is an example from Powell's Oil Mixing Guide.
Elsewhere in this book a ratio of 7:1 is given as a good neutral Gray. Best of luck to you, you may want to try using empty paint tubes so you can store more.

Some things to remember
It's easier to make things darker than it is to make things lighter
You can exaggerate light by continually lightening the brighest values. It doesn't necessarily matter what your darkest dark looks like, because if the brightest values are extremely bright it will create the illusion of darkness in the darker values.
Say your darkest dark is 70%. If your midtones are 50% and highlights are 20%, it will all seem muddy.
For the most part you don't want to continue adding darks after the fact, because you want to lay the lights on top of the darks.
It would be better to change the midtones to 25% light and the highlights pure white, than it would be to fiddle with all the values at once and try to have 100% dark and 0% light.
You can create the illusion of luminescence even if the darkest value isn't 100% black.
Just continue lightening the values. and pushing the chromatic elements of the painting where necessary.
As for mixing, you will get better at that the more you paint. Eventually you will mix correct colors and values without even thinking about it.
The most important thing when you are starting out is coaxing out the illusion of light and dark with paint by pushing the values to their extremes.
When you think it's light enough go lighter, when you think it's dark enough, go darker.

Nobody said anything last thread, and haven't gotten much asking elsewhere. I'm contently opposed to the face at the moment, so I'll be redoing that in whole but anything else that's painfully obvious that I'm missing?
>>3083350
i think its mainly the face (possibly the whole head shape being wide as well)

This thread is meant for artists who might want to try to make anime works in-between their studies, however, all forms of stylization is welcome here. It is strongly recommended that you use this thread in conjunction with learning the elements and fundamentals of art. You can also discuss the visual elements of various professional artists as well if you keep it relatively articulate and civil.
Submit your drawings, receive feedback or critique others! Share your knowledge and remember to thank those who've critiqued or red-lined your drawings. Most importantly, remember to have fun!

I haven't posted my art in a while.
Gonna color it later.
I just got a new drawing tablet (pen and touch) and started sketching in photoshop.
I mostly draw in sketchbooks but I feel that it's time I broadened my horizons. Anyway this is literally the first sketch I've done with this thing.
Any tips for photoshop? I cant seem to find an easy way to rotate the canvas.
Just finished this one. Done with mouse.
I need to stock up on charcoal pencils/charcoal in general, is there a certain brand of pencils I should look into getting? I need to get razors as well for sharpening.

The Pierre Noir (B or 2B) by Conte are popular. It's easy to control and doesn't smudge much. it's what all those guys at Watts Atelier and a lot of the California life drawing in general uses.
why are some people ashamed of looking at things?
i was and avoided looking at things and people. some inner voice berated me for having the gall to stare.
i started looking at things and i love art more, and my eyesight returned.
i feel like more people than i think suffer from this. an appreciation of beauty but strong shame?
>look at some chad's woman
>woman notices you
>woman tells chad
>chad approaches you

Staring at people is the equivalent of interacting with them and interacting with people is scary.

When I walk down the street I like looking at what cars people drive. But I don't. Because I don't know what to do when the passengers look back at me.
Help me /ic! After dropping our from college I decided to try following my dream, becoming an artist. My aim is becoming extremely good at drawing any subject from immagination.
Now, I can choose between two school, a very good industrial design one and a crappy fine arts one.
The industrial design seems the safest option with the highest chances to find a job, the problem is that it will be pretty hard and I don't know if it's exactly what I'm looking for, sure it will help but I don't know how much.
The fine arts one is pretty crappy but it will give me more free time to study by myself while some lessons will be useful, like the life drawing classes and maybe something about colour theory.
Opinions? What would you do if you were me?
>>3103134
Make better life choices.
>>3103134
Just curious, how do you muster the motivation to draw water filters?
>>3103134
Go for industrial design man if it's good, many great concept artists have background as industrial designers and self teaching is quite difficult without proper guidance.
Im looking for a cool mask for an art project im doing. Any suggestions. Posts pics of cool masks.
