Nothing in particular, but usually Audio and Video files as if I need to reduce the size of an audio file (e.g. WAV>MP3) or just transcode videos because Sony Vegas doesn't support the file format (even with Mega Codec Pack installed)

What can I do to overcome self-loathing? All the advice I can find says some variation on "focus on the positive". I can't think of anything positive to focus on. Nor do I have nay friends to ask.

I had severe depression growing up. I got fucking pissed about it and decided to do something about it. I literally just said positive and happy over and over in my head. It was exhausting but I didn't want to feel the pain of nothingness anymore. Another thing you can do is everytime you think something negative immediately spin it in a way that looks positive. Example I just broke up with my gf. I think, no will ever want to be with me, I'll be alone forever. Positive spin. "Fuck that bitch, there's a lot of girls out there that are better and want me" you don't even really have to believe it. Just the act of thinking it will do. Laugh more even if it's not real. Smile more. Body posture can really effect you mood.

sup /adv/. college dropout here.
I'm trying to write a resume, never had to do this, because I haven't had a "real" job in years. I'm a musician and play around town and do odd-jobs for a living. so basically my resume is about as valuable as a blank piece of paper.
how can I possibly get a real job in my condition? should I just suck it up and work at a McDonalds for a year...? hell, I'd take janitorial work, but they're always looking for someone with experience.

This is going to seem like an odd subject for most; go along with it.
Why would someone(a sibling) attempt to implant or revive a molestation memory from childhood that they were the culprit of? Why would someone reveal themselves to be the predator from years ago of a repressed memory?
Also, even if the memory is fake, how do you deal with someone like this or tell your family why you don't associate with them? If it's real, the outcome would not be good for anyone, and if it's fake, I'd probably look like I'm worrying about nothing.

My 92 year old grandmother is currently decaying away in her home losing her mind. She has been injured various times but plays it off with insane excuses. She is clearly not mentally fit to be all on her own.
Currently she is in the "care" of my aunt, in which her daughter forced her so that she controls all my grandmother's finances. Right now the aunt does nothing at all, and worsens my grandmother's physical state with her nonexistant care.
In general the aunt is a big obstacle.
What can I do to help this situation? Ideally I'd want my grandmother to move in with me so I can actually take care of her but im unsure if my aunt would let that happen. It's come to the point where the aunt drains her pension each month not even leaving her enough for groceries.
Unfortunately I live a few states away and my grandmother defends anything my aunt says.
So really what are my options? Its not safe for her to be living the way she is and my aunt is just draining her.

So I work as a Software Engineer in Switzerland, I have 3 years of experience. So, statistically I'm on a rather "junior" level, but I would say that I absolutely outperform everyone on my level.
Right now, I'm on a 93 k wage, until a week ago, I was on 87 k.
I have one coworker which has 6 years of experience and my same education. He was on 89 k and has been upped to 101 k.
The point is, that we are in the same team, we deliver the same amount of code and quality and I feel like by giving him so much more increase than me, the management is underestimating my work.
I am aware that with my level of experience, no-one else is probably going to pay me much more. Since a few days, I've been rather unmotivated because we have been put apart on the wage scale so much, while delivering the same.
I talked to my girlfriend, and her reaction was just happy about my increase, she didn't see the point. My father also only pointed out that I now make more than him and that I shouldn't be that butthurt.
I don't know how to properly bring it up to the management and I don't know if I'm maybe complaining too much or exagerating, but my personal point of view is: "if have the same performance, we should be more or less paid the same". And we went from a 2k difference, to a 8 k difference.
What should I do?

Don't do anything. You're forgetting that experience isn't just a measure of skill, it's a measure of responsibility and CONSISTENCY working in a team. As someone who has to appreciate math, given your profession, I'm sure you can respect that (if I were to use a video game as an analogy), that someone having a 5:0 KDA being 100-20 is more consistent than someone with a KDA of 5-1.
It's not anything personal, you just need to realize that businesses, even from an operational expenditure aspect, have no incentive to give people people with your amount of experience the same wage as someone who has been in the field for 10 years because of things outside of just raw skill they can contribute to the company.

When I had a cat my family took great care of him but he would still like to hang out with my neighbors like he was 50% ours and 50% theirs.
Did you ever have a cat before? (sorry if you already said, I don't remember). Many owners don't mind when their cat goes around town for hours because it's pretty normal. They usually worry when the cat has been gone for over a day though.
