I am looking for a deep RPG with lots of interesting mechanics.
Games I enjoyed:
Baldur's Gate
Pillars of Eternity
Xenogears
Grimrock
Wasteland 2
Star Ocean
Phantasy Star series
I just want something fun with crafting, creeping, good progression.
Please and thank you.
SaGa is a given, since this is /vr/ and all.

Lost Saga? Saga Frontier? I'm sorry.
>>4108150
Romancing SaGa 2-3 and SaGa Frontier yes
Old prerender art, give me only the best ones.
Replaying BG2, and onto THrone of Bhaal, right at the end in fact. Reviewing everyhting before the big showdown with Melissan, and I noticed that Imoen had a charisma of 5. Remove curse, restoration, nothing I can oviously do brings it back to 16. I tried checkin out my saves, and she seems to have had a CHA of 5 since Shadows of Amn, although I'm not sure exactly when, as the earliest save in this playthrough is a while after getting out of the Underdark.
I'm honestly more confused than anything else. What on earth could have caused that?

this game is butt
Use the google option to search within websites "charisma" site:http://www.lomion.de/ and see if you can find monsters in 2e that cause loss of charisma.
>>4094572
Did you have her wield the Rod of Terror at any point? It has a chance of permanently lowering the wielder's charisma every time you land a hit with it.
The only other thing I can think of offhand that can cause permanent charisma loss is a wild magic effect.
I went to the bowling alley to play pinball, and I was pleased to find three new games. The lineup is:
>Black Rose
>Tron
>Dirty Harry
>Road Kings
>Simpsons Pinball Party
>Pirates of the Caribbean
This was the first chance I had to spend a lot of time playing Black Rose, and I like it a lot. Probably the best use of a player-controlled cannon in pinball, and a good layout overall. The only negative is that the video modes are kinda dumb, particularly "Walk the Plank" being nothing but mashing a button.
I also haven't been able to play Simpsons or Pirates in a while, and I'd forgotten how good they both are. Simpsons might have the best layout of any Stern game in terms of creativity.
What pinball have you been playing recently?
I'm assuming video pinball and stuff like Visual PinMAME is included in the discussion?
Any /toronto/ here? I need to know where I can find and play a pin in the downtown/midtown area.... I know there's some games at the Playdium in missasauga, but that's such an annoying trip for me, and I heard its closing down soon to be replaced with a more standard 'arcade' filled with redemption games.

Been a minute and these threads are always good.
I played the shit out of Karate Champ before there was Street Fighter. Some guy down the corner from my house has a cab in his garage that I saw (untagged) during a garage sale, perhaps the very same one I put so many quarters in.
Then through sheer chance, this girl I know was living in this black dude's mom's house along with an additional couple and the dude from that couple is related to the people in that house. We were drinking "moonshine" and I found this out and additionally that they wanted to sell it so maybe I should have asked at the sale. Been waiting for word to creep back that I should throw them a low ball but a bunch of drama has happened with those people since then, the black dude and that dude's girlfriend are a couple now.
This arcade manager looks just like my half-jew bro who was my best man.

Did anyone ever complete this game?
I remember beating it, but never could find all the ham chats.
Holy shit, muh nostalgia. I loved Hamtaro.
I remember seeing this back in the day cursing being a dirt poor child who couldn't play it. Is it actually good? I recall Nintendo had a hand in it.
>>4123650
Haven't played this game. but I did play the other Hamtaro game

It's good and super comfy. Play it.

Don't forget the deadly Glog!
I'm wanting to get a laptop for use with retro gaming. Doom specifically.
I'd like to use GZDoom features which means Nvidia works best.
Anybody have experience with a Lenovo thinkpad?
>>4122656
It's Doom, fucking anything will work!
My 8 year old laptop with a core2duo and nividia 320m doesn't even heat up.
>>4122660
Yes you can run doom on many things but AMD is shit for opengl, so if you want to edit things/make maps or use more advanced features (by doom standards) it can get annoying
Does doom go alright with windows 10?
I wanna hook up composite consoles to a VGA screen, but I have a couple questions...
1) Is there a difference between a 10$ chinese and a 50$ converter?
2) Do these cause input LAG?
3) Do I need anything else?
also, I dunno, general stupid questions thread I guess
>implying the $50 option isn't Chinese
All consumer electronics and their peripherals are made in China.
Of course they cause lag not to mention tearing. Why on earth do you want to convert composite to vga?
>>4122862
>Why on earth do you want to convert composite to vga?
cause I dont have the space for a CRT, modern TVs arent apt for old vidya for the reasons we all know, and an old repurposed laptop screen with CRT input is the only option available to me at the mo
has there ever been a better villain?
plenty, kefka is over rated
Psychopath who gains the "ancient powers of the magic gods" who destroys the "source of all magic" and "reshape the world at his own will"?
NEXT!
>>4122405
ok so suggest one & explain why
>>4122417
>implying that this is not a perfectly valid endgame for a villain or that one beyond this is even possible
i remain unconvinced
kefka > not kefkas

Anything MSX here. Post best games.

Why wasn't she in Tooie?
>>4122023
but she was
Real reply: because she was a useless mcguffin character.
From an interview with Chuck Santos (head of logistics RARE) for part of the 30th anniversary RARE interviews:
> CS: "The character, Tooty, was very near to Chris's [Stamper] heart. When we started working on Banjo 2 (later renamed Banjo-Tooie) Chris would spend hours locked away in his office drawing pictures of Tooty ."
> ESG: We have heard that at one point the obsession Stamper had for the character reached uncomfortable levels.
> *laughs* "Well... it was during one of our staff retreats to discuss ideas for the game. Many of the coders and staff brought their wives. But Chris brought a life size cutout of Tooty used for promotional purposes. He spent the entire retreat alone talking to the cutout while the rest of us discussed development on upcoming titles."
>ESG: We understand it also led to the eventual divorce with his wife, Samantha.
>CS: "I think Chris's obsession with Tooty was definitely a big factor. In the end Ken [Lobb] and I decided the best thing to do was to leave Tooty out of the game rather than fuel Chris's obsession with the character. In the end though we did leave a lone references for fans."

I have a 5.1 Sound System in my living room. But my Sega Megarive sounds much too weak, pls what can I do for better sound quality?
>>4121975
Do you have it connected to the audiojack? Did you put the reciever on Stereo?
Yes the audio jack is from tv to sound system. no, i let the receiver on 3d sound
>>4121981
Do you have a Stereo setting on the reciever?
What are these games like?
Much better than Final Fantasy but not as good as Dragon Quest.
Play if you want a break from the usual turn-based formulas and enjoy exploring.
>>4121691
>Dragon Quest
>good
PFFFFFFFFT
>>4121691
They are on the opposite side of Dragon Quest, can't really compare them at all
Can anybody link me a functional rom? i can't get the one i found to work because it's missing files
PS: I'm using MAME 0.185
>>4121665
Don't bother, SNES support on MAME is very preliminary and the game is literally just the SNES version with a timer that you can extend by inserting coins.
Load the game from command line and read the error messages. Google the files that you are missing.
