"Lucy?" Kandence hisses, tapping on the side of my tank, waking me up with all the ripples and shaking she's making and putting into me "Are you awake, please be awake...please?"

I groan, forming my arms and head as I can peek over the edge of my bed to see what my roommate once.

"Whats wrong, why'd you have to wake me up, I mean it better be good" I yawn, as I struggle to stop myself from melting back into a puddle of goo and slime.

Kandence looks at me with her fear filled eyes, her long black hair hanging in a mess over her face and brown skin. Her fangs peek out from under her quivering lips as she points towards were the television is.

I sleepily turn, my "hair" drifting through my surface as I do so. Well the television is on, and Baba yaga is still taking up space in our room. And judging from her expression, she's really liking what's on. and, oh it's a horror movie, that'd explain things.

I groan, why does she have to do this kind of crap when I'm sleeping, can't they just watch something both of them like I mean it's not like...well actually, considering who Baba and Kandence are, it might actually be impossible to find something that Baba yaga would enjoy that wouldn't scare the scales off my friend.

"Oh sorry" Baba says, leaning her head back to look at me as she grins widely, her far too white teeth making me feel uneasy just from looking at them "Didn't mean to wake you, I mean she wasn't complaining about it before now"

"That's because you turned the volume up during the jump scares" Kandence says angrily, her tail rattling as Baba giggles

"Sorry, I just wanted to figure out what they made the screams out of' She says frowning "Honest, I think I've got it down to either a cat or snake mixed with a blender on high pitch"

"Don't you have better things to do besides terrorizing her?" I groan angrily, making Baba shrink down in her

How do I fluff and write powers for a group of zombie demigods, whose themes are grotesque body horror and surgical replacement, WITHOUT making them come off as pure distilled Magical Realm?

On one hand, they have an entire martial art dedicated to projectile vomiting on enemies, and "turn yourself into a hive of super-powered locusts who give people a disease that makes you shit our your liquified organs" is a thing they can do. On the other hand, they can appeal to practically every Magical Realm fetish in existence with enough surgery and body-warping.

You wake in the morning, face and hand sore despite the healing brought on by the raw flesh consumed after last night's combat. Emma lies curled at your side, snoring loudly. Djanna has already left the hut, presumably to rejoin Baltas and her mother on the deck of Malir's ship. You rise slowly so as not to wake the slumbering kitsune, wincing as you put pressure on your hand. The wounds had mostly sealed, but perhaps it was something more making it ache. Perhaps guilt? You flatten your ears, banishing such thoughts from your mind as you make your way out of the hut into the dim morning light, village men already making their way to the boats for the work ahead of them. The elder is seated outside, facing the ocean with a thoughtful look on his face, staff leaning against his shoulder. Moored to the long dock, Malir's ship rocks in the gentle waves, he and Baltas making repairs to the damage brought on by the gem-like tortoise monster.

Vela is nowhere to be seen, nor is Cain. At this point, you're not certain you want to talk to either of them, but their absence is somewhat conspicuous. You pick up on a few of the village men talking about the trial of honor as they walk to their boats, some casting sidelong glances at you, some even nodding respectfully. Huh... that's new. You feel your tail wag just a bit, almost involuntarily. Almost.

I've fucked up /tg/.

I've designed a rather simple style of TTRPG where you control fleets of ships and colonize worlds in a sort of post-galactic war setting, d100 combat, etc etc.
Instead of levels or some-such, there's research for new gear, tech, and ships. And it's gotten out of hand.

Right now, mechanically speaking, the players are way more advanced than just "bump up the numbers" style of difficulty increases. They have weapons that ignore shields, shields that make conventional energy weapons useless, and fighters that can suicide into ships to board them.

There's two universe-stage warring races, and the players are caught in the galaxy equivalent of a factory for one of the races. Short of pitting the players along their lines of conflict, not much is really occurring.

I've run out of potential ideas for enemy fleets. I need encounters. Wacky shit that will push the envelope, and actually pose a threat, besides just potentially wiping out a ship here or there. Things that make their stats kind of useless without feeling ham-handed.

So a friend of mine has played D&D once before and excitedly called me to say she found Character Sheets for the Sailor Scouts adapted into D&D. She wanted to know if I could help her set up the scenarios and give her tips to DM.

After clearing the vomit from my mouth I told her if she doesn't have a strong system mastery of D&D then she should use a different system that actually is made for this.

So what system is the best for a magical girl campaign? I've heard of magical burst but know nothing about it.

Slithering through the gateway, you move with purpose in hopes of finding Veles. Passing through the rookery, you suffer Daisy's attention, letting the young hawk down on her roost as you exit. Heading down through the tunnels, you find the old lamia in the main antechamber. Arm still in his improvised sling, Veles looks up from the deer that he's awkwardly butchering. You see him wince as he reflexively tries to grab one of the animals legs to gets better access with the small but wicked looking dagger in his hand. Instead the snake opts to crook the hind leg between neck and shoulder, cutting more by feel than by sight as he attempt to skin the animal.

You cough politely and the giant snake promptly disengages himself with the animal, dipping a bloody hand in a container of water.

<Apologies Sasha.> He starts, <The claws of our kind take some time to regrow, and I am loathe try and swallow this whole. Antlers aside, fur never was that palatable.>

<No apologies needed. Is that giving you trouble?>

<Better part of a century since I've lost a claw. Longer still since one wasn't a clean break. Just forgotten how much of a bother it was.> He responds dismissively.

How dangerous would a BBEG human fighter with an aura of "realism and historical accuracy" be in a D&D game?

The aura is a mile wide. It acts as a dead magic zone, because magic is not realistic.

The aura deletes from existence any object that did not existence in the "medieval" time period that D&D purports to be set in: no plate armor, no rapiers.

All fantasy armor and fantasy weapons become useless hunks of metal that merely encumber the user while in the aura. Anyone trying to operate a weapon (or even throw a punch) in the aura MUST do so in a realistic and historically accurate way, with a proper description from the player or the GM, or else it becomes ineffectual.

All fantastical creatures lose their fantastical qualities. Elves drop dead and die, because humanoids living for a long time is unrealistic. Giants and dragons collapse on their own weight, realistically.

Could your D&D party even hope to stop this BBEG?
