Okay, This is the start of a Kingdom Game similar to those of the last few days but a restart to bring in new players and new life

The Rules:
1. Select a kingdom that is currently unclaimed, ask if youre unsure.

2. When you select a kingdom role 1d10

3. Name your kingdom, and name our ruler.

I want to get into wargaming, /tg/. I'm thinking about giving it a whirl with the "Little Wars" rules set, as written by H. G. Wells. Is it any good? Also, what would be a suitable (affordable) gun to use in the game? Those naval gun replica's seem to be quite pricey :/

So I want to a campaign.
>One of the first manned deep space missions launched by humanity

What system should I use? They will see combat, where they'll use the weapons they brought with them, semi-futuristic combat rifles(think Haloesque.)

which talks about exactly that - why "apparently random noises" could actually be an optimal format for extraterrestrial communication. (tl;dr - pseudorandom noise encoding lets you communicate with a much lower signal-to-noise ratio, which in turn allows you to reach much greater ranges with the same amount of broadcast power.)

I'm not a fan of making ever instance of something in my fantasy settings uniform. I don't really want to play in a lazily copy-and-pasted world.

So I have a plan with the campaign I am going to be starting where I start the players off as next to nothing, wearing only rags and starving, unable to get food, but then slowly over the course of the campaign building them up stronger and stronger (obviously).
As the campaign goes on the weapons and armor they receive are going to reach ridiculously over powered levels. Things like a sword with infinite length and deapth. Stuff like that.
I'm going to end the campaign with them ascending into godhood and giving them the option to change whatever they want about the world they played in.
The next campaign we play (with new characters) I am going to include how they changed the world into the campaign, and make their old characters legend like figures with statues dedicated to them and bibles written about them. Make them the old characters the literal gods of the lore.

Do you have any opinions on how I should go about doing that? Has anyone you know ever done anything like that? Do you have any recommendations for it?

Sounds fun. You may want to include plot points or even just hints that the current gods were once mortals and that the pantheon has not always been exactly the same as it is now.

I think you're thinking a little too big at this point.

Campaigns are fragile things. Most end well before you'd like them to, and they never end the way you expected they would.

From what it sounds like. you've got a really, really, really long campaign in the planning stages, and my major recommendation is to just look at the idea realistically. It's probably better to plan more things for the beginning of this campaign, rather than focusing on the far distant potential future.

This is standard for me. Works pretty well, however, since you haven't even played the first adventure and are already planning for the next campaign, the campaign you're going to run is going to be shit because of it.

You should look up dawn of worlds, which is a minigame for setting creation. Do that instead of waiting twenty levels to do something which should be standard

What are some cool supernatural organizations? I'm running a paranormal game that needs lots of different spooky agencies. All i got now is SCP, Delta Green, and Taskforce VALKYRIE. Preferably government organizations but other stuff is good too like maybe a secret catholic church order or something

I remember seeing an alignment chart once that had a bunch of these but I didn't save it.

Can't forget the The Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defence, they're great. Unusual as they're both a spooky, supernatural government agency and more or less completely out in the open about what they do and the unusual abilities of some of their employees (in the comics, anyway).

As I've been on a 2000AD kick I remembered these as well - [Insert Nation] Psi-Division, Vatican White Ops, Cabalistics Incorporated and the Special Police Taskforce for the Enforcement of The Accord between the Kingdoms of England and Hell, and Vector 13

Is there a deck in any format that can potentially break this, or should I just trade it away now?

It would have to be some sort of weird brew.
Playing it in a flash heavy deck (Clique and Snap tempo?) Would aliviate the drawback.
Additionally Notion Theif and Leyline of Anticipation could turn into a finisher or a... exile the card they're playing at the end of your turn psuedocounter spell.

It's mostly a casual card, but some inane brewer may do something with it.
It probably won't ever be worth more than the EDH inflation though.

But I'm wrong more and more these days, so do whatever you want.

You recognize her voice instantly. It's the only person who visited you at the hospital. You're surprised, especially because apparently someone gave her your number.
"Yes, I am John. You're the girl who visited me. I have kept my promise: I haven't forgotten you".
For a few minutes, she doesn't say anything. Then she answers. "Thank you. It means a lot to me. Are you doing alright?" Hard to answer that question. You've been dragged into a deadly war, and maybe you should be grateful you're alive. Then what's this bad sensation overcoming you? Guilt?
"Yes, sort of. Classes are boring, but I have nice friends." Why would you feel guilty to begin with? You were just defending yourself. You haven't harmed anybody.
"Oh... are they nice?"
"Who are you talking about?"
"Your... new friends, you know"
Something's off with her tone of voice. You catch a hint of disappointment.
"I guess. I haven't had time to get to know them them properly."
"Ok... well don't forget you have a friend here, too, ok? A friend who cares very much."
"I would never forget that", you say, oddly confident in that statement.
This seems to cheer her up, as she laughs softly. "Good bye Johnathan, see you around"
"See you", you answer mechanically.

'See' whom and how? You don't even know her name, and you didn't bother to ask her either. What a failure of a friend.

Thinking about friends, you gaze upon your 'new' arm: Saber's gift. You feel another pang of guilt. Maybe if you had talked with Rin yesterday she would have given you something like that, too. Saber is lacking an arm now, possibly because of your negligence.

the military tone and the cadence with which he asks questions, coupled with his mood, make you feel profoundly uncomfortable.

I have always wanted to run a quest based on shitty doodles, and today is the day I finally give it a try. But enough preamble.

You are an ogre - a bundle of muscle and hunger. While your mental capacity may leave something to be desired, your capacity for crude violence is something to be admired.

Having recently come of age, you've set out to make something of yourself. A strange wanderlust has come over you, a zest for adventure you never knew you had - and besides, if you show up back home again without at least one cool trophy to your name, the tribe shaman has threatened to use you for spell ingredients.

Now the world is your oyster - all you have to do is pry it open and eat it.

I mean you always wanna make sure your character is good at what they do but sometimes its just fucking ridiculous.

Another player in my Edge of the Empire game is a regular person who discovered they were force sensitive and is on the run from the empire. It makes sense that he's already a jedi class with high strength and melee skill from the start right?instead of civilian class with high strength that could grow into a jedi as the game went on right?

Depends on the system, sometimes you have to be lenient with their builds because a game is a game, not a book, and their farmer with zero knowledge on self-defense isn't going to survive shit nomatter how much of a main character he's. Players lack the plotarmor characters in narrative have.

It is, the dude is blatantly power gaming though. The girls built for hardcore melee and nothing else, with Brawn 5, and 2 in every other stat, training melee above everything else.

When we last left off, you, Gabriel the Golem, had just entered stand by mode for the night after a long day of work and learning.

Now, it should be stated that Golems do dream. But not in the way organic beings do. Organic dreaming is more often than not gambled and random, and lacks any sort of coherence, and is usually forgotten shortly after waking up. While not ALL dreams are like it, most of them are.
Golems, on the other hand, when entering standby mode, relive moments of their lives. At least, Golems like our friend Gabriel dream this way, but he is not your typical Golem, now is he?

All that being said

As your body shuts down, you awaken in a workshop. The walls are made of stone and you feel much smaller. Examination of yourself reveals your are not a mighty stone Golem. You are a man made of steel pipes and bolts. The only thing that remains the same, is the glowing gem in your chest. It is wrapped around your pipe torso like some sort of organic rock. It looks... smaller than you remember.
The room is filled with all sorts of tools, and a large forge in the corner of the room. There is a wooden door next to it.
You are free to move around the room, but cannot leave it.

A while a go we had a server for minecraft called Parnatha. Lots of /tg/ presence. It got shut down because of lack of funds and time.

I'm going to start it up again on a new world, many new features. Any of the old players out there? Or any new players interested.
