"So Mrs Miller" The headmaster says smiling as he leans back into his green velvet chair, his arms folded and his hands clasped together as his beard lays across his chest "I'd offer you some whiskey, but I think you have a different tastes in drinks than myself and"
"Is there a reason you dragged me in here?" I sigh, kind of angrily "I was about to see how a pet of mine was doing you know"
"Oh really, I thought you'd complain about this interrupting your time with your fiance" He says with a smirk as he leans forward, reaching for his half filled glass
"Oh I was about to" I groan, staring at the ceiling, and the art work of the woman with dark green hair surrounded by various symbols of luck, from shamrocks to horseshoes and plenty of others "SO can you get to the point so I can get back to her?"
"Oh you're more like a dog than a cat" He yawns "Well I wanted to tell you that our little visitor gave us some wonderful little gifts, after a bit of"
"Torture?" I ask, smiling almost hopefully "Should've asked me to do that nasty business, because I would've been quite happy to, what with her ruining Maria's and my night like that"
"Nope, buttering up and kindness, turns out she was willing to turn on her guild in return for a restraining order on lilith, a safe house next to the school church, free acess to requests and A whole lot of salt for reasons I am not entirely sure off" He laughs, shaking his head "Now I think you want to hear this little gem of knowledge...so you don't get mad for me not telling you"
"Really?" I sigh, I swear, every other person who breaks in here gets a room and gifts, is this a hotel service or something "Of course, I'm about as curious as a cat right now"

"We now know were the lord's Dagger's are hiding" He says with a self satisifed smile as he swirls his glass around before bringing it to his lips, I try to say something but he holds up a finger, and a minute later says "No, I'm not sending you to deal with them, or murder them or what have you"

How and what from would medieval melee be made of in modern times if military never dropped them ? Reason doesn't matter, perhaps we developed lightweight body armour that can actually stop high calibre bullets even at short range, we started to attach teleknitcs to units to stop projectiles, whatever.
I imagine it would include a lot of plastics and other lightweight materials. I'm guessing swords would probably be made from different stuff than modern knives (the material's weight, flexibility, durability might not translate if just up-scaled) ? Perhaps axes would double as light breeching tools ?
Say hello to "The Irons".
A Halligan Bar (or "hooligan bar" if you're feeling like a cheeky cunt), and a flathead axe, mated together for ease of carrying.
19 pounds total weight.
The Halligan consists of a pick, an adze, and a prybar. The axe is an axe.
Imagine groups of men in heavy armor charging at each other. Each man attempts to wrestle an enemy to the ground so that an "Irons Man" can break them open like a crab with his tools.

I'm not sure if they're optimized for fighting and what it would take to make them.
Is there any game taking place after nuclear war or similary devastating event that's not about being basdass wasteland warrior killing mutants and fucking hot raider sluts, but about surving and possibly rebuilding?
Why would you want to play a game about sitting in a bunker, eating canned food, and slowly dying of radiation poisoning?
>>44095409
Game on steam called "This War of Mine". It takes place in some third world country where not everything was shit, but then when to shit after people rebelled. Slightly frustrating at times, but it was fun for a while. Also you get your shit kicked in when you try to fuck with someone with a gun.

Welcome to The Lost Island Quest. Last thread our hero, Alan Rodain, had the would-be assassins interrogated and discovered that a rival healer by the name of Harnost had orchestrated the attempt on Calloway's life. Alan and his companions talked their way into meeting Harnost before killing him and subduing his guards. Alan learned that Harnost's lover, Deliria, may hold a grudge and try to get revenge on him and his friends. Another complication in the aftermath of killing Harnost was Dolah's stark disapproval of taking the law into his own hands, a plan she was sure was Gabby's fault. Afterwards, Alan decided it was time to join the Circle of Mages with Eve and Quissonce. He now stands before its doors.

http://pastebin.com/W5vqnRBU
You walk up the marble staircase towards the door to the Circle of Mages. The door is rather mundane, with common iron fittings and what looks to be a regular lock. In front of the door, off to the side on the landing is a small, bookish looking man with thick reading glasses sitting in a kiosk. He wears a long black robe and is hunched over, poring over a thick tome. He mouths the words silently to himself, guiding his finger across the words as he reads. He only notices the three of you when you're standing right in front of him. He looks up and after recognizing Quissonce and Eve, makes an 'ah' sound as he dives into some compartment behind his desk and pulls out an even bigger book, which he flips to a new, fresh page. He pulls out an ink pot and a quill.
“I see you've brought yourselves a friend. Alright, name.” You clear your throat quickly and respond.
“Alan Rodain.” He scribbles your name on the first line.
“Yes, and do you possess the necessary fee to gain entrance to the Circle?” You hand him a bag of 100 platinum pieces. Thankfully there was banker able to do a currency transaction of that magnitude in Seaside. You still are forced to wait a good, few minutes as he carefully counts out your money. Once he writes in his book that you've paid the fee he looks back to you. “Alright. What are you?” Um.
“Human.” He squints at you, trying to see if you're joking with him. “Um, male?”
“No. No. Are you a sorcerer or a wizard?” Uhhhhhhhhh. He looks at you oddly. “Summoner?” What? “Magus?” Mage-us? “Please tell me you aren't an alchemist.”

What do you say to that?

>>44095263

Would you consider Western Europe in the 500s/600s/700s a post-apocalyptic setting?
>>44094818
No.
>>44094818
Europe isn't the entire world. Shocking, I know but true.
I'd call it an early medieval setting.
For the rest of the winter, you are consumed by the thought of having your own pack of wolves. There's so many advantages, not least of which being their capacity for hunting. Wolves can track their prey for miles, keep watch while you sleep, even provide warmth and companionship, if not an extra set of hands. In a pinch, they might even be able to pull a travois for you.
Of course, there are risks too... They might never see a human as their alpha, or if they do, they might attack others. You feel sick to even think about what might happen if a wolf took a dislike to any of your children. Then there's the matter of Soqed. He clearly sees himself as master of the packs in the valley, but does he care for the outcasts you saw scavenging the waste pile? You somehow doubt he'll be as easy to fight a second time, if it comes to that.
Eventually, all you can decide is that it's worth a try. The prospect of friendly wolves is just too tempting to pass up.
The snow slowly melts and life returns to the world as the green of early spring sweeps over everything. You've sadly run right out of food.
What do you do?

The hiss of your door opening up alerts you. “Hey, Rhys.” You turn around in your chair, looking back to see Misri in the doorway. As dirty as ever, wearing only a tanktop and the jumpsuit pants. “Breakfast time. Uncle Kuvasz is making some weird tingle casserole or whatever for breakfast, he says it’s good,” she says, trying to coax you out of your room.
Truth be told, in the past several days you’ve been in hyperspace, you’ve rarely left your quarters at all. Only to go to the refresher, maybe grab some food out of the galley, or direct Vikker at the helm in the cockpit. But overall, it was just sitting, staring at the holonet, staring up at the ceiling as you lie in bed. Basic sulking stuff, nothing you aren’t familiar with, especially back in Flight School when this was really all you had to do was sulk. You shrug. “Just send bring it around to my quarters, Misri…” You blink, then narrow your eyes. “’Uncle’ Kuvasz?”
She smirks a bit. “What, jealous that I don’t give you a pet name?”
“What’s so ‘uncle’ about a Mandalorian?” you ask.
“Hey, he cooks food, he tells really funny stories, he’s pretty old too.” Misri steps inside, looking around your somewhat barebones Captain’s Quarters. You had a few trophies set up on the wall, celebrating your achievements at Flight School, your Ace-in-a-Day medallion as well, nothing too valuable. They’re nice to look at though. “Oooh…” Misri grabs your medallion off the wall, then compares it to the necklace she wears. “What do you think?”
You scowl a bit. “I think you should put that back where it belongs.”
“Ooookay.” She places it back on the wall, a bit perturbed by your sudden hostility. “But seriously, Rhys.” She leans on your desk, looking down on you. “I know Lotte screwing us over might be sad, but… you know, we haven’t seen you leave your room a lot and we’re just getting worried as well.”
[1/3]
>>44094154
[2/4]
You grunt, leaning back in your seat and folding your arms. “Misri, have you ever had family betray you and become the worst kind of people you’ve ever known?”
She shrugs. “Wouldn’t know.” She says this quietly, “I didn’t really have a family.” Oh, damn it. You didn’t mean to hurt her feelings.
“Hey, look. I’m sorry for worrying you, I just feel I need some time by myself,” you say.
“You’ve had plenty of time.” She grabs you by the arm and gently tugs you, smiling. “Come have breakfast.” She leans in a bit, smirking, swaying her hips a little. “I’ll let you have my pudding if you’re a good boy.”
You squint. “We have pudding?”
-
-
You do have pudding. Kuvasz is busy washing up the dishes, having already eaten long before everyone else did. His sleep schedule seems to work quite similarly to yours. He doesn’t sleep in late, but unlike you that’s more by choice rather than by instinct. He wears only the undersuit of his armor, and a black apron to keep it clean as well. You’d almost mistake the old man as some sort of house slave for a Zygerrian. “How are you enjoying your tiingilar, children?” he asks.
You chew on the soft soft casserole he cooked up for the lot of you. Vikker has already consumed it, apparently immune to the spicy effects. Misri meanwhile struggles to even breathe with it in her mouth, the spices apparently burning her insides. You yourself only feel a slight tingle, but Flight School might have spoiled you a little. Back in Flight School the Instructors would occasionally slip incredibly spicy peppers into the rations randomly. It was part of the indoctrination process, to keep TIE Pilots alert, predatory, and paranoid. Suspiciously, you always drew it every Friday, usually when Captain Jag was overseeing the Mess Hall. “It’s pretty good, Kuvasz. All Mandos know how to cook like you?”
>>44094445
[3/3]
He nods, wiping his hands on a rag then running his hand through his grey hair. “Certainly. Cooking is an important skill that all Mandalorian children learn when they’re being raised by their mothers, that and hunting as well. Hunting is something do with your father, but cooking is the matriarchal thing.” He steps over to the table and sits down, then notices Misri tearing up as she chews on the casserole. “For goodness sake, Misri. You don’t need to eat it if you don’t like it.”
She spits it out onto the plate. “It’s so hot!” she whines. “Why do you make these things so spicy?”
He blinks. “Oh?” He looks down at the casserole platter in the center of the table. “My wife always told me mine were unbearably mild.”
“This is mild!?” she squeaks.
“It actually kind of is,” you say. “But it’s got a bit of kick to it, initially at least.” Misri grumbles, drinking her blue milk to sooth her tongue.
Vikker grunts. “And you eat Tiingilar everywhere?” he asks. “This is considered a breakfast food?”
“It’s considered an everything food, very simple to make. The recipe especially is designed for the possibility that you don’t have an oven but do have a flamethrower,” says Kuvasz. Kuvasz tilts his head, looking to you as you eat carefully and quietly. “So, Rhys. Since you’re finally eating in the galley with the rest of us, I assume you’re feeling much better now, correct?”

It used to be daily and I plan to restart it tomorrow evening. I might have something to do on the 12th, but in that case the quest will be delayed and not deleted
>Why has the quest stopped?
It's a temporary interruption. I am working on additional material for the "second season" as well asoriginal material

>Who was he
Hisao Nakai. AKA the guy who died before your arrival.
Your people have always been a simple folk. But you are smarter and more cunning than your brothers and sisters. Once your father died you claimed the title of chief, no one opposed you because of your skills as a Hunter and Tactican You are J’amp Guud Big Chief of the bullywugs. You will lead your tribe to control the Swamps, or die trying.

The scout who first rode the hoppers is named [name him], and put in charge of future scouting missions because J’amp looks for creativity and inventiveness in his tribe. (hero unit bonus to scouting)
While observing the now docile hoppers, you find they seem to eat vegetation.
The special spears are ready. We call the ones for trees axes and the ones for digging shovels. -20 wood and stone. +20 axes, +20 shovels
The art of combining vines together is perfected! We now have many nets we can use for fishing, and with research we can make nets bigger and better.
Growing up is hard for a bullywug, not all of the eggs make it to tadpoledom, and not all the tadpoles make it to adulthood, thus is life.

Is there a fantasy world set roughly at an equivalent epoch as the World War 1 in Europe?
And if there isn't, would /tg/ like to create one?
We should start little by little
>>44094003
I am writing a book with this sort of premise.
Most of it takes place in the Not! Holy Roman Empire.
Cool part is, WW1 had a lot of crazy tech alongside more traditional equipment.
Like early tankers with chainmail meshes and half-plate.
I would suggest focusing on geopolitics, as the tangled mess of aggrements and alliances is what started the war.
Prussia is awesome, especially in a fantasy setting, include Not! Prussia.
If you want dogfights, The Luftwafte considered themselves knights, and personalized their planes with family crests, meaningful symbols, and crazy color schemes.
>>44094003
Panzerfauste is a fantasy mash-up of WWI & WWII.
>>44094417

Napoleon called, he wants his Peace of Pressburg back.
The great debate.
d100. Necessity, or luxury?
Should dice sets come with 2d10s or just 1?
Only the great questions on /tg/why thursdays.
>>44093974
Necessity? Given the prevalence of d100 systems?
>>44093974
Sets should come with 2d10s with one giving tens place digits and the other giving ones place digits because using the fucking golf ball of a d100 is simply impractical.
Additionally percentile systems are okay and a lack of way to roll d100 would be bad.
>>44093974
My flaming autism cannot stand d100 sets like these, the zeroes are off-putting.
I prefer to use just two regular d10s, one white, one another color, the colored one comes first.
