Probably similar to Kensei, which has all the armies sharing the same Core models, except in reverse. All the elites are the races of the world, the Core and HQ are your faction-specific troops.

Frigost, Amakna, Brakmar, Bonta, Sufokia, Astrub, Demons

I'd make Sufokia troops elite and hardy with leadership issues outside their HQ, Frigost the speedsters that control the battlefield, Brakmar and Bonta would be offensive and defensive, Amakna would be a jack of all trades, Astrub would allow you to take the elite races of the world as Core but had really shitty HQ, and Demons would just keep coming in weak hordes until their HQ is dead with the HQ being hard to control and like to just go off and do their own thing via leadership tests every turn.

Ok fa/tg/guys, I need your help. So I'm finally getting in to Warhammer so I bought pic related, some primer, and a few base paints to start painting my minis, and I have no idea what to do. I plan on doing Tzeentchey colors, and I have blue, black, gold, and bone right now. I just don't know how to actually paint the fuckers.

Prime them black, then detail them.

Put a wash on, Nuln Oil will do the trick for you

Then for finishing touches correct areas that got mis-colored, and drybrush lighter versions of your colors onto places you want to highlight(long edges of weapons and armor, glowing things).

Recently started playing YuGiOh with a friend of mine (we play magic quite a lot and thought we'd give YuGiOh a try),
and there are a handful of concepts in this game I just don't understand and I would really appreciate it if someone could talk me through some of my issues.

So in the game we played My friend managed to summon a Red Eyes Black Dragon and I had no monsters on the field, how do I stop him from attacking me ?
Every monster I had I had to put into Defense position just to not lose the whole game, then that monster would die and I could never get to a position where I could tribute summon for a stronger monster, this mechanic seemed broken to me.

In a situation like this, where one player has a really strong tribute summoned monster, is the only way to deal with that Spell and Trap cards ?

Second of all, can you tribute summon 2 monsters as soon as the second monster has been summoned ?
So for example:
>1 card is already in play, summon another 4-star monster, tribute them both, get out a 7-star monster then attack ?

And one last thing.
quick Spell cards, whats the deal here?
Can I play them in my opponents turn even if they are not set (i.e, instants in MTG)
or are quick spells just effectively trap cards that can be activated during your opponents turn.
If that is the case, why not just have them as trap cards, makes the quick spell system seem pointless.

Any help here would be fantastic, I would just rather talk to someone about this than spend hours looking on obscure forums for similar questions that might not even exist.

It's good to have a Trap card set, like Magic Cylinder for example, that can stop the attack, reverse the attack back at the opponent, activate an effect, etc. There are also quick play (I think that's the name) Magic/Spell card which can be activated under certain conditions. Sometimes Magic/Spell cards, like Swords of Revealing Light, can stop your opponent from attacking you directly for 3 turns. It's a bit overwhelming at first, but once you play some more and get used to the rules and see certain situations play out, you'll get used to it. Even though your opponent may be biding their time for an attack, you can start preparing your side with monsters and a strategy. Effect Monsters are really good for this situation, allowing you to take advantage of their effects even if they get destroyed.

I haven't played Yugioh for many years, like since Ancient Sanctuary t was a new booster pack. There are a lot of new card types and rules that have changed the meta game completely. I'd suggest just getting familiar with the basics first though, like Normal, Effect, Fusion, Ritual monsters, then Trap, Spell/Magic cards, and what you can do on what phases of a person's turn (Main Phase 1, Battle Phase, Main Phase 2, etc.). Oh and to add to that, my strategy suggestions may be different from others on here since I like to play with 'mill decks' (having the opponent run out of cards), which isn't necessarily a valid strategy I'm guessing in the meta game nowadays. It worked pretty well in the past though (most times).

I think (someone correct me if I'm wrong) that they allow for you to play from your hand versus using valuable space on the field, like Mystical Space Typhoon. Of course then you lose valuable space in your hand, but it really depends on the strategy of your deck and the situation.

Spells, Traps, or just special summon a stronger monster. In competitive Yugioh, the answer to a single Red Eyes Black Dragon would be to special summon 10 times in one turn and end up with a field full of monsters all strong enough to kill that red eyes and that all have actually good effects on top of that.

No, a tribute summon is a normal summon, and you can only normal summon once per turn. Special summon more is the answer to this problem, has been since nearly the beginning of Yugioh.

You can play a Quick-play Spell from your hand on your own turn, even during your battle phase or your draw or standby phase. After you set a Quick-play Spell, it suffers from the trap spell limitation of not being able to activate it the turn you set it. Also, you cannot activate Quick-play Spells from your hand on your opponent's turn, you still have to set it to do that.

You do still have to put the Quick-play Spell in one of your Spell/Trap Zones to activate them. Same with normal spells, if all of your Spell and Trap Zones are full, you can't activate any Spells from your hand until you make some room somehow.

So /tg/, how many of you do the old gems are used for magic thing? I think it's an interesting idea, but it kind of takes away from the gems being treasures.

I've always liked the idea of magical gemstones. It's a bit of a cliche, but they look cool and you can do fun stuff with it. It also kinda makes sense in general fantasy terms, more 'precious' materials like gold, silver and gemstones always seem to turn up on powerful magic artifacts, so it sorta makes sense that they're better able to hold or channel magic and stuff.

Literally how? Making different gemstones useful for magic makes it even better for them to be rewards from a treasure vault.

For magic items, I usually just use a list of what gems are associated with and describe appropriately, so e.g. a wand of Cure Light Wounds would be topped with Jasper.

Depending on the edition of D&D, there were a few theories and in-manual explanations:

- Armor was too heavy to allow mages to perform the complex gestures needed to invoke spells. (Although some editions just added a spell failure probability, depending on the weight of the armor)
- Mages simply lacked the proficiency and / or physicality to wear armor. (This seems to be a popular theory for OSR)

Depends on the game/setting.

But a few reasons why some games do it:
Stronger identity. Warriors wear armor. Mages wear robes.
Niche Protection. Armor is the warrior's niche. If the mage can wear armor just as well as the warrior, why have a warrior in the first place?
Style enforcement. Armor changes how a character interacts with combat. Mages are frail and should avoid direct combat. Armor helps mages more than it would help the already hardy warriors.
Avoiding optimized builds. If mages can wear armor, why wouldn't they wear the best armor they can afford?

During the fall season Floors will resume but will possibly face changes and perhaps a new narrative.

>What is Floors ?
Floors is a Multiplayer "Skirmish" Variant where players assume the role of Runners. Runners spend their lives traversing dungeon like "Floors" in order to reach the stairs and outrun a universe consuming threat called the Malebolgia. The Malebolgia can't be stopped so outrunning it and building up " Turns" is the only option.

While we are still deliberating changes ;Here's the Hot Points.

1. You can keep your old character or you can join in with a new one at level 1.
But like any runner , if they die they fall to the void. You can also roll a new character and bring your old character from 2015's run later. I will stress this once more, however, One character per player only.

2. We're making reductions.
- SubFloors are just Floors now. We cannot support small floors, but its in our best interest to create smaller standard floors.

3. The story will depend on how many old characters return.
- Old characters that do not have simply wandered off elsewhere.
- New Characters will factor into this as well.

4. The rules from the last game are still in place.
- But some changes will occur mostly in the interest of reducing lag, processing, and streamlining play.


How Will Floors Play ?
Floors being a big game will likely go a rate of 1-2 turns a day, however there will be High Activity Days and will only occur if 60% player participation is confirmed. Players who cannot make this commitment consistently don't worry. Have a trusted runner [Bot] for you in the meantime.

Currently the classes Available.

For those just joining us you can only choose the base classes [Middle 6 classes] outlined in grey. The other classes [Advance Classes] simply become options to specialize in after you level up.

Ironically, I think the most fun I've ever had as an elf character is when he was incredibly in-elfy. To the point where he was basically subverting all the elf stereotypes in the setting. the setting was Dragon Age

Well, Spellweaver is the best occg on the market. So I mainly play that. Still I have tried some others...

I want to like Faeria. The art is maximum cute, gameplay is super inovative... but it has harthstone randomness, and a tiny card pool. The novelty might bring me back.

Solforge was a clever game, but then rarity bullshit ruined it. Only mythics matter, and the rate you can get them at (with money or time) is beyond unacceptable.

Infinity wars is the closest to spellweaver, and was my game till I found spellweaver. Really intresting bluffing game, still the card gain is slow as molasses. Intresting, but spellweaver is better.

I have a friend who is really into Stormwars. Then again, he is a bit wierd. The lack of any player imput during play turned me off.
