What's your favourite Yu-Gi-Oh card?
Between this and Black Garden. I used to run stall burn back in the day. I can't tell you how many times I've run this guy into a Lava Golem for the win.
Metal Reflect slime is pretty ballin' too, I remember when Monarchs used to run it, Before the lightsworns came.
Necrovalley and pretty much anything Gravekeeper's. The anime made me a sucker for anything Egyptian, even if the accuracies were as expected from a Japanese
I don't think I will ever find a card I like more, winning with it is the best feeling and never gets old.
Brothers.
During my meditations I felt a presence touch my mind. At first it was distant, cold, like a pinprick of light just on the edge of perception. But quickly it became a raging nova that surrounded my psyche. And yet...it was gentle, it was...familiar. And then he spoke to me.
It was him. The Emperor.
I had broken through the warp and touched a fragment of his shattered mind and in the fraction of a second that our minds touched, he bestowed upon me an image of him, illuminated in a aura to rival Sol, stepping forth from the golden throne. His body restored to its original youthful vigor and strength. The Emperor opened his mouth to speak and he uttered a single word. A name: "Isha". And then the image was gone. Replaced with fester and rot and a daemonic laugh echoed throughout my mind. I retreated quickly.
For 12 days and nights I considered the implications of this vision. I slaved over ancient records and tomes until I finally managed to develop an answer...
The Emperor had bestowed upon me a vision of how we might bring him back to his former glory, so that he might lead us once more. The knife-eared scum venerated a goddess of healing, and while yes, I too am disgusted my acknowledging her existence while the only one who may claim the title of God is our Emperor...it was said she could heal any wound, no matter how severe. According to ancient Eldar scripture, this goddess, this Isha, is the slave of the dark god Nurgle.
This Isha holds the key to reviving the Emperor, my brothers. If we could find a way to liberate her from Nurgles grasp...she would be able to restore the Emperor.
Make haste, Brothers! We must formulate a plan to see this dream realized! Not only would our Lord and Protector be returned to us, we would also deal the forces of chaos a grievous blow!
How might we go about this? Speak now!
>>49532710
You want us...
To march in to the heart of the Warp in to the putrid gardens of Nurgle
To rescue the ELDAR GODDESS
Because she MIGHT decide to revive the God Emperor
>>49532785
Yes.

GET THE ANGRY TITANS, BATTLE BROTHERS
WERE GOING PURGING
A Sister Superior along with her squad are assigned,on a short notice, to an inquisitor to act as part of his retinue. When the the squad of Sisters finally arrived they are greeted by the inquisitor himself. Who, by chance (Will of the Emperor?), the Sister Superior recognised as her own blood brother who she had lost hope of ever meeting again since their separation after graduating from the Schola Progenium. What do you think /tg/?
>>49532401
will this story include incest or you just wasting our time?
>>49532415
Sadly, no incest. The reason being a lot of story has a romantic undertone so I'm bored of it. though right now I'm asking whether or not this scenario is possible in 40k.
>>49532401
Sure, why not.
>Omg guys, it's another group of adventurers skulking around the tomb
>Quickly, shapeshift into something they will not kill on site, once they reach this room
what form do you take?
>>49531906
I hide inside my bag of holding and ready an action to attack them when they open - the signal for my team to get out of stealth and ambush them.
>>49531906
Shapeshift into OP so they're repulsed by pure faggotry.
He's too lazy of a shit to even proofread.
Talking sword.
"Ho, brave adventurers! I wish to aid thee in thy quest.
Alas, I am a meager sword of +1 strength at best.
However, I know of a way you could increase my power!
Though it is for the patient and will take many an hour.
Carry me to holy ground and thrust me in the earth.
Then return in one year and one day to witness my rebirth.
Reclaim me from the holy soil in dawn's embracing light
and we shall carve a righteous path with newfound holy might!"
I need random tables for character background/destiny/story
Why don't we make one? We'll post simple backgrounds to fill a D100 table.
1: Apprenticed to a blacksmith.
2: Cursed by a witch.
3: Grew up on the streets.
4: Ran away and joined the circus.
5: Raised by the clergy.
6: Born into a family of merchants.
7: Grew up on the farm.
8: Kidnapped by goblins.
9: Orphaned by war.
10: Created by a mad scientist.
Once you've got enough you should be able to fill in a table and trim out the ones you dislike.
>>49530474
>>49530871
Love it
11. Born into a family of guards

Destiny could be a separate table, though it might be more interesting to put it all together and simply roll two/three times for results.
1: Destined for greatness.
2: Born under a cursed sign.
3: Doomed to die a violent death.
4: Followed by a dark shadow.
5: Will attain all they desire, but always at the cost of something dear.

8: Harbinger of misfortune.
9: Their blood or their deeds will usher forth a new era.
10: Their fortune is obscured by the fates and unreadable.
What religions do some of the people have in your post apocalyptic setting /tg/?
>>49530431
A few of them worship Max. But most have turned to worshipping local warlords as Gods, and vehicles as minor deities.
>>49530431
Meme worship.
>>49530431
There's a pretty cool French post-apocalyptic game where the Halley comet passed the earth a tad too close. The main effect, apart of creating a new little ice age, was about all the human population suffered from complete amnesia. The old technologies, religions and philosophies completely disappeared. Instead, the survivors crafted new myths from stuff they found (cartoons, video cassette covers, posters, etc.). Of course everything was inspired by French 1990's culture. So you have the Kid's tribe who worships Japanese Choudenshi Bioman and Space Sheriff Gavan (X-Or in French), while Charlemagne is vilified for having created the school system. You have the Vigilante's tribe who worships Dirty Harry and Mad Max. The Amazone tribe would worship Lilith, Saint Sarkeesian and demonize the Yellow-Haired Greek (those I made up because I don't remember who the original models were), etc.
No, not a stealth This Guy, or even just a bog standard player, a legitimate That Guy.
The one who has to burn the tavern you all meet in. The one who is presented with a "you probably shouldn't do that" and picks up his dice. The one who looks at his party as a bunch of meat shields and tools to further his own goals.
I've been playing with a That Guy for years, and as we sat back and reminisced over our games the other night, I realized he'd actually improved some of them, or at least given them noteworthy moments.
I'm going to share moments from my Actually Pretty Funnyâ„¢ That Guy. I encourage you all to do the same.
My That Guy has been my friend for a very long time. It's part of why I have tolerate his antics so long.
We first got into TTRPGs with D&D 3.0. His first character was an Evocation spec'd wizard that, I shit you not, was named "Trogdor The Burninator".
Now, despite his loony tendencies, and loony name, Trogdor was actually played, most of the time, as a fairly straight up Wizard. Excepting a somewhat unnatural lust for all things fiery. He did in fact burn down multiple taverns, some hobgoblin camps, and at least one forest, but he always managed to provoke me into giving him a reason to do so. And thus, the campaign remained underailed.
Until my other friend rolled up a Cleric named Raziel. This was when Soul Reaver was still a relevant game series. God I feel old.
Anyway, that was when he gave us the first sign he was going to go off the rails.
>>49530281
The cleric was the sort of needlessly edgy character that our sixteen year old selves thought was great. Except for Trogdor's player. Trogdor and Raziel butted heads repeatedly in game, never coming to the point of PvP directly, mind you. But they would fuck with each other in more subtle ways.
Hiring NPC's they knew were low level to stab each other or steal their shit, shit talking each other to powerful nobles and whatnot. We were pretty mature for our ages, I guess.
Well, mostly.
You see, eventually the game progressed to where I started handing out magical items of a certain level. Standard useful things like wands, staves, and wondrous items like immovable rods.
Then, just one time, I dropped some Sovereign Glue into a treasure hoard.
Never give a That Guy sovereign glue.
>>49530319
It started small. He'd put it on your saddle, he'd put it in the lock to your door. Standard prankster shit.
But there was one argument Raziel and Trogdor had over I don't even remember what anymore that apparently pushed That Guy too far.
He hatched a plan, the next day he changed his spell list, something our lazy teenage selves rarely did when we didn't have a specific challenge to tailor for.
Raziel's player wasn't dumb, he knew what was up. He took precautions, at first anyway. An entire in game week passed before Trogdor, Loony Destroyer of Worlds, could make his debut as my most memorable That Guy.
All it took was for one in game night everyone else to announce that they went to sleep before he had. I forget what he was doing, I know they were in a forest so I think maybe he was supposed to be keeping watch.
Either way, he saw his opportunity.
Magic The Gathering: low cmc yet over powered.
Looking for other cards that have a low cmc yet are way stronger than what it should cost. pic related, pretty deviant to what a similar creature should cost. it doesnt have to be creatures, any cards that have a low cmc but have abilities that outclass what the casting cost is.
>>49528875
White is the color of efficient weenies.
Green is the color of efficient bombs.
Selesnya is the color combination of super-efficient creatures, full stop. Outside of this (surprisingly weak) niche, it's useless.
>>49528930
i dont care about how good of a card it is, i want to see cards that are overpowered for its casting cost.
>>49528968
You're new, aren't you? Because it seems like you don't even know what "overpowered" means in magic.
Actually overpowered? Power 9. Mana Crypt. Mana Vault. Mishra's Workshop.
Efficient beaters? Just search for creatures used in Selesnya Modern decklists.
Currently on Kickstarter, Killbots is a game in which you build robots, upgrade them and use them to attack your friends. The action is driven by the fact that robots don't always act as expected; while the game is quick to learn, a roll of the die makes every move a calculated risk. killbotsgame.com

we don't like shills around here Doug.
>>49529218
That's why there are so many 40k threads here, we hate shills so much!
How dare your thread not be about 40k!
>>49529290
There's 10 40k thread open on the entire board.
Chill out Doug you fucking retard.
/tg/ I have all the expansion packs and a flatbed scanner, would anybody be interested in scans? Which one should I do first?
I'm mostly just going to do the cards for my roll20 group but I can do whole sets if nobody else has yet.
>>49528843
I haven't seen shit get scanned at all, but I would be interested in the Kingdom Death books. Really, any of them.
>>49528843
>>49528889
It already was done you colossal mongoloids. Not only that a full module was made for TTS.
>>49528917
The only stuff I can find doesn't include the expansions.
Just a ninja general thread. Anyone got good stories of playing as or with ninjas in the party? Got good art? Tips for running a ninja character in general or systems for it?
What US cities have good /tg/ scenes?
I'm currently looking to switch jobs and move out of my dinky little college town, but I'd hate to move somewhere that has zero people to play with.
Major cities of each state.
>>49528642
Silly anon.
Nobody here actually plays tabletop games.
I assume Seattle does. I don't really do any /tg/ stuff outside my group, but a fair amount of the relevant companies are here
So, question: How do I run a Night Lords army in 40k? And I'm talking more about the traditionalist Night Lords, who mostly shun Chaos, not the faggots under Kreig "litteraly who" fagbus. With how gimped the CSM codex is, and its skew towards big buffed up Chaos units, it seems that the Night Lords dont really fit in. So should I just use the regular SM codex, and claim that they stole a bunch of shit from a loyalist chapter/forgeworld?
>can I have my nightlords as counts as space marines
Yeah fuck it why not?
>>49528605
You dont, you join the big boys and play 30k, join us! We got primarchs!.
>>49528630
Yeah, but I wanna kill xenos and stuff.
I mean, I have about 120+ Tactical marines at this point, but the problem is that most of them are Mk.7's or Mk.5's, so I'm afraid that people will not play me for that. There's also not that many people who play 30k where I'm at.
So I'm working on running my first pathfinder campaign from scratch. I need help fleshing things out.
the first few sessions need to be very VERY "on rails" so I need help identifying areas where a douchey party could diverge, and then I need ideas on how to keep them on track.
Also... Trap ideas, so much fun, and I'd like to illustrate a collection to show my party whenever they trip an especially complex or sinister one.
/qst/ told me to fuck off...It's getting hard to fit in even on the chan these days...
Yes I know, I draw and write like a 15 year old.
I stopped trying to be good at drawing the moment I got my second rejection letter from digipen.
Some build ideas for these characters would be appreciated as well.
Spoiler alert, the cleric isn't a cleric at all. I'll go into deeper lore if I get...human interaction I guess..
You were told to leave /qst/ because you couldn't even bother yourself to read the sticky.
I have to wonder why you're doing this. Is this just one massive cutscene, or do you really expect your party to just ask what you should do next all the time? You're clearly expecting them to follow a script, but haven't shown or told them at all. What do you expect them to do?
>I decide to leave town and not explore the vault
>No you don't, you have to explore it because it says in my notebook that you do
https://1d4chan.org/wiki/RPG#GNS
What's /tg/ is opinion of the threefold model/GNS theory of game design?
Personally I find it to be quite a informative and insightful way of categorising game design goals.
However the very mention of it on forums tends to get the same visceral hate filled reaction as bringing up a carl jung or sigmund freud quote to a psych undergrad...
>>49528374
The problem is that GNS theory is just tribalism at this point.
It's one group claiming that everything "good" or "pure" about RPG's actually belongs to their super special part of the pyramid while everything "shitty" or "ruining the industry" belongs to the other two points.
Case in point: people's utter insistence that Simulationism refers to both simulating "reality" while also simulating the narrative conventions of a genre despite that logically falling under the realm of narrativism but no narrativism only REALLY applies when it's in reference to abilities that're more player input on the world than actual character derived powers. An arbitrary distinction but one peolpe will fight tooth and nail over to claim is really their own game's style rather than someone else's.
>>49528374
It's certainly one way of examining it, though I'd argue not the only lens by which we might categorize games and game theory.
The visceral hate comes from people married to one extreme (or trolls pretending as much) hating on the others. A good example is the dedicated crowd that shits on the narrativist goal, where it can actually be fleshed out into new elements to enhance other design goals. A Narrativist element to a Gamist design goal could add a narrative campaign system to a wargame, and a simulationist aspect allow for elements of resource management and upkeep for a continuing campaign.
Also >>49528403; it's devolved into tribalism by idiots.
>>49528374
it's useful as a general and vague model. any attempts to go beyond that have turned out to be retarded.
