Well steel is an alloy that is human manufactured so making rare would be logical. Iron on the other hand just exists so iron would be the common metal.

I have a similar idea in mind as far as steel (and metallurgy, forging in general) being rare and expensive. Rather than replace steel with something comparable, the emphasis is more on shittier materials and improvized gear.

You raise a good question I've ran into with "why smelt currency?" For my setting, there's a sharp contrast between richer cities and poor wildlands, with bartering being far more prevalent in the wilds. Making it make 100% sense on other situations, I'm not toally sure.

I plan on finishing painting my starter box (I'm a meh painter so no pics) and from there I'mean going to demo the game with a few of my buddies). I currently own Pandoras Box, Wahldgiests, Iggy, and a box of Insidious Madness. I want to pick up widow weaver though, but if I do, I need a Teddy and a box of Dolls

I always figured studded leather is just a misunderstanding of chingchong type armors where there are metal plates underneath cloth and all you can see on top are the studs.

When they released the first "doom" board game back in 2004. Love doom (vidya) and always had a passing interest in dungeon crawly games.

Tough. Well, let's say Shadows of Brimstone first, because I spent so much money in it and it's got enough variety to be replayable. Then I guess pandemic because I love me some coop... And finally I guess I'd need some kind of competitive game... Shogun (Wallenstein) because I love it and I guess if I had only 3 games in my collection, I'd get to play it often.

In Castles of Ludwig we call the role and wooden signifier of master builder, "master blaster." We also call the game itself "Mad Castles."

I get that it's her place and she's in the right that you can't trust randos, but god damn I just want some new players.

The initial goal of this thread is to really establish our leader and figurehead, Thodos the Ironbringer, and to establish iconography and paintschemes for the warband.

I mean we've established that the Chimeras make use of Raptors and Warp Talons and even have several flocks in the Bleeding Roost. But some input on the the status of our Heavy Support might be good.

Also our "Daemon Engines" should probably have nods to New Phyrexia as they are made in roughly the same way (Take five people, bolt em together roughly, hack the screaming mass of limbs in half and weld the halves to some large death world lifeform, turn the whole thing inside out and bolt armour and legs to it, inject Obliterator virus and then jam a Daemonhost up its arse.)

Both missing limbs have cables and wires exploding from the wound site and in the case of the arm these are flailing and writhing in the air while the leg has grabbed a servitor and reshaped it.

The power sword has been incorporated into his head and now visibly crackles with energy when he speaks.

No, they don't take prisoners, which means they can't break the Geneva convention.

Using an Autocannon on Orks probably wouldn't count as breaking the Hague convention, seeing as it likely doesn't exist in the 41st millenium.

Flickering and unexplainable lights are always a good way to get a mystery started. Better if starts out as a little detail, and then gradually builds into something more noticeable.
