Wanted to make a collaborative setting with /tg/.
Things i like about the settings above:
Castelvania has tons of different monsters that somehow work together.
Bloodborne mixes very well Dracula with Lovecraft
WoD allows for more iconic monsters to be sane and common enough to form communities and PC parties.
>>50374302
Just say you want a roughly Victorian horror setting.
>>50374302
lots of settings and systems do these things already. the little details can be included or changed by the GM to match what you want.
>>50374358
>>50374337
yes i want a Victorian horror setting, but with constraints. A coherent setting where i can play dracula and try to kill a shib niggurat progeny.
i haven't found one yet.
To start i need ideas from where monsters are generated. cosmic horrors probably have something to do with it.
Are we, /tg/?
>>50305171
Anons worked out that point-buy system will be best for Skullduggery Pleasant system, especially since Adepts are a broad, hard-to-limit trade
>>50373622
Yes.
Honestly wish I could stay in and start brewing, but a mate has a music gig that I said i would attend.
How does learning magic work, exactly? Are people limited to certain school at birth?
For example, Tanith Low uses Adept magic to enhance her strength and speed, if I remember correctly. Now, if she wanted to and put effort in, could she learn other adept powers such as teleportation, etc?
Could she learn Elemental magic?
I dont remember it ever explicitly being said, but I think people are just naturally attuned to specific types of magic, correct?
>>50373689
Yes, you have to decide for a branch of magic Elemental Magic is one of them. I think there are several branches of Adept magic, and you have to decide for one of them, since necromancers -in most cases- can't do anything else and we never see a teleporter throw energy beams or something like that. Some people though, like Tanith, seem to have a pretty broad range of skills nonetheless
dice?
100, 20, 6, diceless?
Should there be a Cavern of Souls for Planeswalkers?
>>50373314
Lets go with "no"
>>50373314
If that happened, you'd have to ban LoTV and NtH from Modern
>>50373314
If they ever print such a thing then I'll genuinely quite MTG forever. Last thing we need is to push planeswalkers even more.
Hey fa/tg/uys and ca/tg/irls, we got ourselves a wonderful resource on the internet called 1d4chan. It's full of helpful ideas for your roleplaying games, tactics for your wargames, and all sorts of goodness fitting for a /tg/ wiki.
It's also older than shit, with plenty of misinformation and idiocy which makes literally no sense. This is a website which has the potential to be the go-to site for all things /tg/, and I'd rather see it reach its potential than slide into the realm of who-gives-a-shit.
Let's make 1d4chan great again!

Personally, as someone in the HoR Kill Team community, there's a lot of outdated information there. Half those Codex don't have updated tactica and some of them are completely different after the change in community ownership. There's also a bunch of new team mini-Codex like Rogue Traders which are worth an examination.
All of their Warmachine stuff was out of date when I stopped playing. It's probably worse now.
I remember main Infinity page being kinda trash, but not that much has outdated.
We started putting Tacticas for Infinity though. Why should there only be 40k and WFB ones?
What are the most noob-friendly 40k novels? I don't care much for wargames, but the lore of this series fascinates me.
I personally love Ciaphas Cain
>>50372582
Storm of Iron and Eisenhorn are safe bets.
>>50372652
This and "Gaunts Ghosts".
Did the dude that made "World of Eberron" (mash-up between Eberron and World of Darkness) ever finish his thing?
Bumping because iHope so
>>50371909
The what?
First I have heard of this.

Old Thread: >>50366206
What might /tg/s opinion be on allowing players to take monster feats?
Yes? No? Depends on the feat?
>>50371675
I allow Druids to take say, Hover as a feat, or Flyby attack.
>>50371675
Realistically, Monster Feats are no more powerful than standard feats, just have more strenuous requirements. If the character can meet said requirements, there's no reason to prevent them from taking said feat.
Any anons here play LotR LCG? I'm fairly new to the game and am looking for some advice on my decks that I plan on planning through the Khazad-dum scenarios with. Right now, I'm using Lore/Tactics (Bifur, Legolas, Thalin) and Leadership/Spirit (Aragorn, Dwalin, Eowyn). Now, my question is how viable would it be to do one deck mono-sphere with Tactics and the other deck tri-sphere (L/L/S). Do I really even need all four spheres present?
Bumping.
>>50371452
4 sphere decks are generally a bad Idea.
>>50371452
I ran it solo with an all dwarves leadership/tactics/lore deck. Lots of draw and combo. If the tread lives, i can post in a few hours.
Instruct the children not to dream of chivalry and swordsmenship. Instruct them to dream of infrastructure.

This image is aesthetically pleasing.
>>50370721
Go dream of if yourself faggot, That's boring as fuck.
>>50370740
Indeed it is.
Can we get a mask art thread going? I'm terribly lacking
helmets work too honestly
>>50369668
>I'm terribly lacking
If we pruned the thread, would you die?
What's a good way to have a cleric atone for summoning a demon? Or, how does one seek to change their alignment back once it is magically changed in D&D 5e?
Any ideas?
>>50369273
Kill the demon.
>>50369273
What bullshit did the GM pull to shift your alignment, anon?

What is the most ridiculous PC backstory that you ever had the pleasure or displeasure of witnessing firsthand? I got loads of them.
>Dark Heresy
>Deamonhunter who got adopted by Kaldor Draigo and raised on Titan after Chaos buttfucked his home planet
>mercenary that commited Khornate rituals for ten years straight but stayed loyal and never got any corruption because he's that good
>a clone assassin made by heretek equipment
>new World of Darkness
>homeless woman that somehow has enough connections in "the underworld" to get whatever luxury she wants and flies over to the US from Ireland because "she felt like it"
>serial killer doctor that kills only "evil people" and only under the knife, but there was never an investigation after about 30 of his patients dying
>a teenager with a magic sniper rifle that is also the best sniper in the world
>Vampire the Masquerade
>a combat speced Gangrel that somehow cured vampirism
I'll post the more ridiculous ones later.
>>50361736
> >Deamonhunter who got adopted by Kaldor Draigo
Running a game based off the concepts of Holy Grail Wars from the Fate series right now (set in a non-descript Eastern European town in 1985) and I have one doozy of a PC.
>Alcoholic Russian man in his 60s
>Was attending college for a degree in Musical Theory and working as a barman part-time before getting drafted during the later stages of WW2
>Became fascinated with the occult during the war when he saw a Nazi mage slaughter a squad of American troops
>Survived, moved up to the rank of Lieutenant over the course of two decades, and used his influence to acquire reading materials and artifacts seized from Kulak families that were deemed "Satanic" in nature and discovered the existence of magi society
>Kept it a secret out of fear for his life while continuing to investigate it
>Eventually was imprisoned in the late 60s for his public criticisms of the USSR for failing as a Communist society in his eyes
>Let go in the early 80s during the start of the decline of the USSR, returned to his research of the occult, and found the diary of a mage who had intended to enter the next HGW along with some of their personal possessions
>Sets out with a pendent containing enough mana to sustain a Servant for just one week, an absurd number of contraband firearms and explosives he'd hidden before his arrest, a flask of near-limitless capacity he had filled with vodka, and a burning desire to wish for the restoration of the USSR with him at its helm to guide it to greatness
>Currently is residing in the attic above the town's most busy pub, keeping the owner silent via a mixture of bribery and threats
I'm looking forward to seeing how he turns out. He's the only non-magus master in the campaign, and so far he's been getting by purely based off great rolls on deception/intimidation and liberal usage of bombs and suppressing fire - since his Servant and him don't get along great.
>>50361891
>public criticisms of the USSR in the late 60s
