What i really want is just a small piece of metal grate/mesh that i can stuff in between shit in my pack. 9x9in probably all i need for cooking a single hunk of meat or placing a pot on.

Thinking about just ordering a custom sized piece of stainless steel mesh from a random manufacturer. But id prefer if there was an easy way to DIY with cheap shit i found around the hardware store.

Thats good to know. I haven't seen any brown bears but one of the black bears has two little cubs with it every time I see them. This is the closest one has got to me but I just started up my vehicle and honked the horn and he ran off into the bush.

I carry pænuts or almonds, some muesli bars, and usually a few pic relateds. you don't need a spoon, you just peel it open a crack and suck the sweet nectar out. it's a healthy sugar kick and they're d'licious.

I never heard of those. I'm only familiar with tents, while I love the things they do have a few drawbacks.
Is 440 cord okay for making those? Being able to adjust it is pretty clever using the berry I would of just used knotted loops and carbines. Going to try to keep an eye out for amsteel now atm only have some 440 cord. Preferably wouldn't even bother with it if I didn't have to but just for the sake of simplicity I'd rather keep it all one type of rope
