Found a tent cot from Cabelas used for only 80 bucks. It's a bit heavy but i usually dont camp too far away from my truck.

Met a guy on the beach in Mexico this winter who had spent the last 300 days in one car camping all over the continent.
He swore by it.

If you're going to be car camping, why not bring a tent AND a cot so you can have some privacy/room to spread out your stuff?

Are you thinking about bringing it to the Rainbow Gathering?
I bought myself one since most camping I was doing at the time was car camping and right before my purchase I had an unfortunate incident with my tent flooding while sleeping on the floor.. Not pleasant. To avoid that ever again will be worth it by itself. It is pretty heavy though and is more difficult to transport if you don't have a truck or SUV since it doesn't fold as compact as a tent would. I can squeeze it into my sedan but only after some finessing.
Overall it's very comfortable, will keep you dry, and is very fast + easy to set up.

Trampoline Tents > Cot Tents
Apparently it's considered normal to not be able to fit these inside your car.

They set those up to sleep in. They don't travel with them up there.
When I'm not hammocking I use this tent and a Coleman cot. Just long enough for the cot and room for gear underneath and on either side

This. Trampo-Tents being too bouncy is a meme. You definitely won't get sea legs and flail out of it onto spider-infested ground and die.
>T. Not a spider. Really. I'm not.

Whoops! I was thinking of the town
Hell no! They're bulky as fuck, and as >>1032008 implied, they don't fold down very well.
