Retainer screws are stripped and rust welded i only have a screwdriver and a hammer what do
Hammer that screwdriver right into your asshole, because you're fucked.
>>15631831
Thanks annon solid advice
drill it out, tap/thread the resulting hole
you could try welding a nut onto it, but I would think it's too risky with a screw like that, and it sounds like you don't have a welder
For the past week my Rav 4 2004 sometimes takes two-three times longer to start after turning the ignition. I'm pretty uneducated when it comes to cars but can i get an idea of whats wrong with it?
>>15631745
Can you be more specific?
There's a million possibilities.
Like when you turn the key all the way it takes longer than usual to start the car?
Well it looks like you have ice cream in one of the cylinders, so start with cleaning that out.
>>15631790
Exactly that, after turning it all the way it takes much longer than usual before the engine actually starts fully running.

Why can't I find any good car deals in the UK?
Even a new Fabia is going to set me back around £12,000.
Is it just me or is the UK car market retarded? Or am I retarded thinking these prices are insane?
What would you recommend for me lads?
>>15631628
Find a pre reg one for sale, much cheaper
>>15631628
A car like that isn't worth getting brand new mate, I know it's nice having a new car but losing 5k when you go to sell it 12 months later isn't really worth it
looking for a smaller 4 door?
does it have to be new or something?
ideas about fun driving, engine, lugging things or brands?

>>Leaving. Just passed pedestrian crosswalk without issue.
>>Woman walking along sidewalk. Makes no motion that she's about to cross.
>Suddenly turns and starts walking across the street, just 5 or 6 feet away from my bumper.
>>I just keep going because I'm close enough that I'll either hit her or she'll stop and wait a sec.
>>Mutters some crap as I drive by. I barely make out "Go ahead and hit me."
TFW Walmartians really expect me to just slam on my breaks for them because muh pedestrian right away.
Sorry but I was raised that you stop, and look both ways before crossing. I would a gotten screamed at as a kid if I pulled what this white trash hog woman pulled.
This also seems stupidly common at Walmart.
>>15631553
And she would of screamed how her back now hurts and she has trouble walking and going outside now because of what you did and she sues you into oblivion and now your insurance skyrockets

California in a nutshell
My gf is looking for a compact suv. So far we have narrowed it down to the 2017 Buick Encore, 2017 Forester, or 2017 HRV. AWD is prefferd but not a deal breaker. She is leaning more to the Buick because its the more luxurious of the 3. Most of her driving is on the Highway to and from work but we do take drives up to The colorado moutains but only once a year. Other than that just city driving and taking our dog to the lake. Which does /o/ think os the best CUV
Interior of the Buick
>>15631531
Do you plan on using it to take her son to soccer practice when she's out with her girls?
Get a real SUV or a hatchback.
>>15631552
But why get a full sized SUV that gets shit MPG and is too large. The hatch backs we looked at were too small
Dutchfag here, I went to the German master race autobahn saturday as a last minute decision with a friend of me. I tried to max out my new car, but I was only able to reach 186 km/h (115.5 mph) (GPS) (with around 220 kg in the car including passengers).
It's a Mazda CX-5 2.0 165 hp, I even did my best by falling for the 98 octane meme (engine has compression ratio of 15).
What did I do wrong? I tried doing it in 6th gear and never in 5th gear, was that my mistake? At 186 km/h the engine was doing around 4250 rpm in 6th gear.
The manual says the top speed is 200 km/h. I would like to reach 200 at least on the speedometer.
Thanks everyone for your input

Is it possible to convert a FWD celica into a 4wd gtfour?
Pls respond

>Is it possible to convert a FWD celica into a 4wd gtfour?
yes. You need to weld up mounts for the diff (or weld in the trunk floorpan from a GT-Four). If you want to pass emissions, you need a pre-1996 car. OBD2 emissions were mandated in America in 1996, but weren't required in Japan until 2003/2004.
>not just looking for a st185
Hey guys, first time posting, 1 month of incessant lurking. Kinda total noob too, but I'm trying hard to learn.
I just got my driver's license and my parents want to buy me a cheap, used car. The problem is that here in Italy I cannot drive a vehicle that has more than 70kW, nor more than 55kW/Ton.
What car would you suggest for being pleasant to drive and all in all good to own? We are obviously not going for performance here.
>inb4 hurr durr Italian get a Punto
I forgot to say
70kW = 93HP
55kW = 73HP
How much can your parents throw at it?
>>15631452
not more than 2000 euros
How easy and expensive would it be to build a track only home-made car from the ground up(like pic related)?
Also, what are your ideas suggestions to make it easier?
>>15631414
This is kind of one of those, if you have to ask it's too much/too difficult things.
I want to make one but have no way to bend tubes nor a welder up to the task.
24 maybe 25.......maybe 26
Hey /o/, since I'm going back to school this year, I'm taking my car and putting it in my father's name, and "selling" it to him. When he goes to the DMV to get it placed under his name, how much should I expect to pay in taxes? Will it be the taxes on how much he "pays"? Or blue book value? (I'm Canadian btw)
>>15631333
Depends on the state but in SC you can list it as a gift, and pay the minimum of sales taxes, you'd still have to pay property tax
>>15632047
Interesting, I'll look into that. Thanks.
>>15632435
Your dad will pay the tax on the price you write on the pink slip. In California if I bought a car off you and you write on the pink slip that you sold it to me for 500$ I would pay about 55$ in fees
>still believing the 'RWD has best handling' meme
It's 2016 and AWD has been a thing for quite some time now.
AWD is the worst layout
its like you cant drive and need a crutch
its like you enjoy pigfat shitboxes
grip =/= handling either
For hypercars AWD is best, your FWD biased AWD 100hp shitbox will get spanked by any RWD with similar specs.
FWD is a joke plain and simple, AWD is a joke until we're talking 300+ HP
>muh drift
>muh oversteer
>muh tail happy
Just posting a few things that RWDlets say to convince themselves that they have the best layout
Dodge avenger 2009
I've been working a minimum wage job and have saved up 3,500$. It's time for my first car.
My grandpa wants to give me his avenger for free, it has less than 30,000 miles. I find nothing appealing about the car, it's slow as shit and I hate the fucking red ass color. My family's trying to make me feel guilty for rejecting it but id rather buy a trans am or something with my hard earned money. What would you do /o/? I wouldn't feel right selling it after he gave it to me either. Its probably worth a good 8-9 grand since its in perfect condition condition with less than 30k miles.
I doubt I can do much about the speed of the car, but can I at least rice it up to make it feel like my own car? Maybe a badass sound system ridiculously retarded spoiler maybe lower the suspension? Tilt the wheels out to the side? I know I'd look like a faggot with these rices, but would it make a good meme car? Aftermarket probably sucks ass on this thing.
I just want something I'd be proud to drive /o/.
Take it and swap the v6 in with your $3500
Hey /o/, looking for a cheap fun car for around ~2000 euros. I live in The Netherlands so no USDM cars.
Currently driving a Seat Córdoba (VW Polo sedan) with the 1.6 SR (101hp) engine but I don't really like it. It's quite boring and I don't like the gearbox and handling of it.
So looking for something with good handling and a good gearbox, don't really care about performance. Already have a motorcycle for that.
Any suggestions?
How handling and gearboxes feel is personal, especially if you're not looking for performance. And €2000 will buy you a lot of cars.
Fiat Punto
You already have a bike for fun. Get a comfortable ride.
