I know Chrysler is shit, but what do you guys think about a 2004 Chrysler Crossfire. All German parts especially cause it's the first year. I'm thinking of getting one.
>no ecoboost
since when are mercedes parts better?
we shit on Mercedes build quality all the time.

Its a car that I hate to love.
If i owned one, I would wear a disguise while driving it.

And it'll seat the same two front passengers as a Charger with similar interior space. The magnitude of setback of the Charger's side windows from the actual side line is laughable. There's a half a foot wide step in the door.

The Fiat has only 24 horsepower. 0-60 in 33 seconds. No, I'm not kidding. Those are literally the specs.

Because driving within the flow of traffic doesn't determine a car's performance limits?
Shit, my clutch pedal is sloppy as hell. Time to look for leaks and probably replace some shit but how do I air it so I can drive it to the mechanic?

Bleed it?

why does that car have two gearboxes?

What do senpai? Tried drilling, think i need carbide. I think my next option is to dremel it out, there's also the punch route.
Here's the bolt.
>>15620955
>>15620977
Looks pretty fucked now that you broke off the extractor in it.
What you can do, and will probably have better success with, is weld a nut on to the top of the broken bolt. The hole in the nut allows you to weld the bolt to the nut by filling. If you lack the skill or tools to do that, take it to a welding shop who can get it done in a couple minutes. Then just use the nut and some liquid wrench to get the rest of the bolt out.
>>15620955
you done fucked.
>>15621013
this or take a torch to it and see if you can pry out the extractor, then drill and try agian.
Why is your dash less pretty than this?

It isn't. :^)

Thinking bout the one.
Take care peeps.
I'm a broke college student who knows nothing about cars
I barely have enough for insurance and gas,
if i bought a 1970s MG would it constantly break down on me?
I want a 1970s or late 60s car that I wouldn't have to sink to much money in, do they exist?
>>15620818
Old British vehicles are utter, utter, utter shit.
Only buy reliable boring cars until you become a mechanic.
Then own at least one reliable car because he who makes his DD a project will often be a pedestrian.
Those cute little cars helped destroy the British auto industry. Just don't. Nothing you can do will make them not junk, though I did see a Harley Evo big twin engine transplanted into one at AMCA Denton.
Those cars broke down constantly when they were new. I was alive then. Have worked on many. Not stupid enough to buy one. Am stupid enough to collect old British motorcycles but none of those are daily drivers.
>I want a 1970s or late 60s car that I wouldn't have to sink to much money in, do they exist?
Not any more. Become a mechanic then go play with them. The vehicle pool is worn the fuck out or quite expensive for desirable cars. "Broke college student" material they are not. They were many decades ago. Anything fun is a fuel hog. Old aircooled VWs are easy to learn to work on but horrible death traps and slow as fuck.
All small cars of the era were shit no matter who made them.
Old trucks from the era were tanks and quite reliable, but you don't want to buy gas for them and anything you can afford will probably need work you can't afford.
If you can take auto shop, do it. It will change your life no matter what you drive.
>>15620818
A car that old that doesn't have at least a few problems will not be cheap or affordable at all.
I recommend you get a 2010 Honda Fit if you're a broke college student.
>>15620818
if you want an older car which won't be a money pit all i can think about is a calssic beetle...
they're about as easy to work on as they come and parts are cheap and plentyful
Tell me about the Northstar V8, /o/
I've heard a few horror stories about it but I've also heard that it was improved at some point. Are any years better than others? How is it to live with? My mother is interested in the Cadillac DTS because she's always wanted a Cadillac and thinks the CTS looks like the trunk got sawed off, so I showed her the DTS and she ended up liking it a lot. It's her dream car but at the same time I don't want her to get stuck with a shit car, or at least I wanna be able to catch problems before they develop.
>>15620788
They don't make it past 100k miles without catastrophic problems. My gramps had one and it hasn't been in working condition for 8 years. Unless you enjoy rebuilding engines I would not recommend.
>>15620788
They are prone to head gasket failures, cracked blocks are just sort of unreliable and dont make to much power either. There is a reason GM sticks to OHV because they tried OHC in the form of the northstar. I highly doubt they will try to use it again untill they reach the absolute limit of OHV development.
they were known for weak head studs and design flaws
Whenever I'm accelerating hard and press my clutch in to change gear the engine revs INCREASE instead of decreasing.
Is something on my car broken?
take your foot off the gas
Yes, swap in ecoboost
Really dumb question but I have to ask:
>>15620663
>tfw pointless passenger seat
get a motorycle
>tfw no car with slightly more weight over the passenger side for perfect lonely driving weight distribution
why not get a cute gf
>pass a left lane hog on the right
>merge over to the left lane in front of him
>let off the gas
>wait until he tries to pass me on the right
>speed up
>>15620620
I do this sometimes too. Also break check them so they are forced to disengage their cruise control.
The other day a silver Tahoe was on my ass when I was on Highway going 80. I sped up and so did he so I did a break check. Turned out it was unmarked highway patrol. He flashed his lights then I gtfo the way and he sped off as I waved and smiled.
I'll shoot your back windows out faggot
While we are on the subject, does anyone enjoy blocking people, by sitting their like a dumbass not know what to do, to people who are driving shitty (blocking the lane) in parking lots and stuff? It's a difficult feel to explain but it's hard to hide my shit eating grin when I have the opportunity to do it.
