My sister's boyfriend might have dropped a piece of ceramic from a spark plug down the plug hole. A chunk is missing from the plug he removed and can't find it and the engine runs like shit.
I'm guessing I need a bore scope and pray that the cylinder walls/rings aren't fugged.
tl;dr help pls and thank you

Rotate cylinders by hand.
Vacuum on the plug hole.
Alternatively, remove head.
it's too late
Not a spot you want to be in. I would assume you would hear rattling/pinging with the hood open. Shop vac and hope for the best?

What does /o/ think of this guys 99 Nissan Sentra. (All stock besides the exterior btw)
>>15637975
still better than stance.
>>15637991
I dont know anon...stancefags are disgusting, but i think ricer queers are more obnoxious because they all think theyre racecar drivers. (forgot to mention this dudes car is automatic)
>>15638014
doesn't matter. Rice can be removed and is eaily reversible in most cases. At least it's reliable and can drive down the road without destroying itself.
why is the caprice only made in austrailia
why is it only a police vehicle
i want one REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

>le epic frog scream
why do you need a police car, anon? are you compensating for something?
>tfw you will probably never see a rwd sedan from GM again after the SS runs its course
Fuck you chevy! Just sell the commodore with the 2.0t and 3.6 V6. Don't let the rwd sedan die!
>lol bro do you think we should fit the new A4 and A6 with front bias reactive all wheel drive?
Why would we do that it would be shit then
>yea but lol muh profit margins and MPG's lol dude
Yes but if we do this we'll be handing the fast diesel market to BMW
>dude who cares lol if they want proper AWD just buy an S or RS
ok whatever man
Is VAG the shittest company on the planet?
>>15637747
Yes, yes they are
So why aren't you buying an S?
>>15637747
Yes they are. And audi is the shitfest among the VW universe.

How does /o/ feel about test driving cars you have no intention to buy?
>>15637720
My god put it out of its misery please
>>15637720
It's nice until the dealerships won't stop calling you
Finally I just told them I bought a car and then they fucked off.
perfectly fine, just hint to the dealer you're only interested in test drive. sales people get this shit all the time, even on weekend. these phrases work
>i'm still looking around
>I have to go test drive at another dealer
need to find a used car under $10k, preferably sub 100k miles. what should I look for for a daily driver? I've always had American (Chevy, olds, Pontiac) but everyone, especially my mechanic friends, tell me to go towards Toyota and Honda.

Fucking do it faggot.
>>15637679
Post your local Craigslist
Was it just simply due to rising gas prices?
>>15637350
and emissions regulation
and competition from imports that forced the big three to redesign shit quick
>>15637359
This, and a lack of desire to properly retool plants to make these cars.

2012 Mazdaspeed3, out of basic warranty, still under power train warranty until Aug 2017
Blinking CEL after (IMMEDIATLEY after, not during) acceleration (4/5 throttle in 2nd and 3rd while merging on a highway 20 to 70 mph) that turned into a solid CEL a few seconds later.
During the acceleration, quite a lot of smoke behind me.
Codes read P0300 (random/multiple cylinder misfire)
Took it to the dealer, wait for results.
In the mean time I read about this a bit and it turns out it's quite common for this to happen:
Weak fuel pump (weak internals), can't hold high pressure for long
Turbo and direct injected engine needs high pressure under hard acceleration in order to run properly
Low pressure makes the ECU dump a lot more fuel (than needed) which is not well atomized (low pressure) hence the black smoke.
Super-rich (up to 9:1, some people say) condition fouls the sparkplugs leading to misfire
Now, if the sparkplugs are changed (or even cleaned/burned a bit with a torch), the engine will run fine until the next time. And that's cheap and fast.
A fuel pump is expensive (both parts and labor).
I suspect the dealership will try the first, hoping the pump will last until the warranty expires.
What should I do if I'm expecting this?
Should I argue with them (asking them to show me the old sparkplugs, asking WHY did this happened etc etc) or should I just call Mazda and complain?
>>15637330
>took it to dealer for a misfire
All you had to do was do a power balance test and pull the plugs to check them.
If that doesn't reveal anything, THEN you go to the dealer
>>15637351
>car is under warranty (for just a bit longer)
>engine runs fine (no misses, no hesitation), just the CEL
>intercooler on top of the engine/sparkplugs
I can't wait one more year to take it apart!
OP again here:
What's the chance they'll tell me they cleared the code, they tried to replicate it and couldn't find anything wrong?
What are some good RWD cars that are cheap as fuck? I know theres the volvo 240 that go for like 800$

>>15637132
not bad anon. kinda bland imo but a great, versatile truck that should treat you well for a long time. auto or manual?
>>15637404
Auto, they had more or less the same truck with a manual but it had a few scratches, and about 7,000 more miles on it for the same price. And the only color I wanted less than silver, was red, and it was red (not that that makes a shit but still).
I can't decide. TR6, spitfire, mgb, alfa spider, or fiat spider
I want a 70s roadster which one should I get?
Inb4 wat car iz gud
MGB if you can find one in decent condition. Most of the ones I see for sale are rusted to hell though.
I have a tr6.
It is certainly the most gutsy of the 5 you suggested.
The spitfire is pretty underpowered. The MGB as well. The alfa might be the most fun to drive, on the rare occasion it works. The fiat had a turbo charged option in the early 80s.
For me it would be the tr-6 or the alfa. Do you want grunt or poise.
>>15637045
Alfa Spider or Fiat Spider
Everything else a shit.
Model S spontaneously combusts during test drive during a test drive in France on Monday. The vehicle made a loud noise and displayed an alert on the dashboard telling the passengers there was a charging issue, . A Tesla employee then told the driver to pull over and had all passengers exit the car.

Dear /o/,
I went karting today for the first time and it was fun but I sucked so much I can't feel satisfied. I ended on 10th place out of 11. My best lap time was 1:32 while the first place got 1:21. I wanted to believe my kart was slower than the rest but somebody raced with the same kart and got a time of 1:26. I knew I wasn't a great driver but not even being mediocre hurts. How can I improve my shitty driving skills?
>>15636672
Practice^2 and some theory. But mostly practice.
>>15636672
are you fat?

You're fine, keep practicing. Talk to people in the winner's circle about how they do well. You can even take lessons if you're that hell bent on getting good at go carts.
