Its that time again! Go to your local craigslist and find outrageous ads for cars
Bonus points if its a boomer POS.
Starting out; a 1959 rusted "shell" of a caddy. Boomer wants 10k for it, and when i texted him, he just "sold it to a guy who will send his shipper for it".... lmao

Yawn
Thats not a Supra. It says RX7 right in the number plate. It even sounds like a rotary.
Yay, yet another 60-70k performance coupe thats off limits until i pick it up for 1500 down 8 years later
Why didn't they name the FR-S 'Celica'?
Why doesn't Mazda just make a coupe version of the Miata?
Why doesn't Dodge make a SRT-4 version of the Dart?
Why wont Nissan pump out an S16 and take on the FR-S/BRZ?
Why doesn't anyone make small pickup trucks anymore?
Are we ever going to get a successor to the MR2?
Because accountants.
We need more SUVs and crossovers.
small trucks never took off like they hoped
alright,/o/
i need the best offroad car with 4 seats, that's strong enough to withstand minor bumps, however, not too high profile though, i want to drive it in the street without looking like a monster car
any suggestions?

Autonomous driverless racing when

The air foils cover the headlamps? Must look like shit all backlit with less night time visibility.
But this is interesting. I like the idea of autonomous racing better than autonomous driving.
>would they make counter maneuvers somewhat indecisively between passenger and pedestrian safety lololol
>WAT Racingâ„¢ Autonomous Division
>Beat up old Honda Civic with an LS1 in the front and a 13b in the trunk
>The "Computer" is a /g/entoomen rapidly typing in code as its needed
>The other cars complete their first lap before WAT even gets to the first bend
>Just as it enters the curve, the rear bumper falls off, blocking part of the track
>Then the wheels
>Slowly, the entire car comes apart and blocks the rest of the track
>The other driverless cars, seeing the blockage in the road, slam on the brakes, causing a huge pileup
>WAT Racingâ„¢ wins again!
Does anyone else get a feeling of superiority when they drive by a person with a shit old car like a 97 civic or a 2010 Acura?
I also get this feeling when I'm at a red light next to some poor person in a old 2011 camry or some shit.
They mod thier cars and exhaust with things that cost more than half the value of the car and try to make themselves look "cool", but it makes them look like a try hard and ugly ass car lmao

As a V8 fan, i'd still have to say Boxer 12 is the best engine configuration. Unless we can go up to a boxer VR24.
Greeting /o/,
I require your honest opinions.
This morning my wife was driving her 1990 Ford LTD Crown Victoria to work on the freeway. The car has 75k original miles and is in immaculate cosmetic condition. I paid $1400 for it from an old woman that had about a decade of service receipts.
At some point during the drive, the heater supply line came detached and her coolant was pumped out onto the roadway behind her as she drove along. For one reason or another, she didn't notice anything until the check engine light came on.
When the check engine light came on, and she called me to let me know it had come on and she could hear a light "clicking" noise. That's all she told me, so I told her to take it easy and get off at the next exit. I live in a large city, so there is an exit every 0.75-1 mile or so.
By the time she got there, the car had broken down and she pulled over on the side of the off ramp. She called me again to tell me the "power steering wasn't working and there was lots of smoke". Naturally, this is when I got my ass in my car and drove out to meet her.
By the time I got there everything had cooled down, and I started looking for the problem. I found the disconnected line right away, and started fearing the worst. I had the vehicle towed to a shop so they could take a look. They haven't torn the heads off or anything, but they said it's getting shit compression and won't start, and that the engine is dragging when they try to turn it over.
How fucked am I, and if you don't know what do I need to check to know how fucked I am? It's pretty apparent at this point that the engine overheated badly. Are the head gaskets fucked? The heads themselves? The whole top end of the motor, the whole motor? How should I proceed?
tl;dr Horribly overheated a 1990 Ford LTD Crown Victoria, won't start now, how fucked am I?
Pic related.
If it's slow to turn over then the piston has probably grabbed the bore. It's fucked, just chuck a second hand engine in or buy another car.
>>15857712
She probably intentionally crippled it out of spite.
Who would buy their wife such an old car? Women only appreciate flashy shit, she probably felt embarrassed driving that land barge.
>>15857730
This, you're about right next door to a seized engine
Your daily has been replaced with a Fiat Punto with a 1.3L diesel engine making 85 horsepower. Wat do?
Stop riding the bus
Well I'm a Yuropoor now, so probably go on /o/ and shitposting about American cars I'll never be able to afford.

If I had a dashcam, could the police/court/whomever force me to turn recordings as evidence against myself? And if someone happened to cause a wreck and I needed a recording as evidence, could earlier recordings of me hooning on empty roads be used against me?
Also looking for recommendations for cheap dashcam. I don't really need high quality video or sound recording.
>>15857552
>keep a hammer
>destroy evidence
>>15857584
well I might as well not even get one if I'm just going to destroy it. I just want to know if any of you have experience or know what rights are protected with these.
>>15857552
>If I had a dashcam, could the police/court/whomever force me to turn recordings as evidence against myself?
Doubtful but destroy the evidence anyway.
>And if someone happened to cause a wreck and I needed a recording as evidence, could earlier recordings of me hooning on empty roads be used against me?
Would be completely irrelevant and in order to pursue charges they'd need to prove it was you driving among a ton of other bullshit.
Can a complete br/o/ here help me learn how to drive with paddle shifters please? I'd be very grateful.
So I've always wanted to learn since my car (benz) has them, and I want a GT3 in a couple years and I don't want to be a faggot with a GT3 unable to drive paddle shifters. (i get I am a faggot since I cant drive manual or paddle shifters rn, but I am trying to learn and unfaggot)
I stopped on an empty long road today to study how the gears change on automatic. My car has seven gears.
So I started at complete stop, first gear obviously. I slowly accelerated faster and faster and by the time I was at about 60 mph it finally hit seventh gear.
I've always wondered, and am still confused, with downshifting. So after it hit seventh gear I wondered what would happen if I kept accelerating so I pushed harder and it started downshifting and going in sixth and fifth gear. This is confusing to me.
So let's say I am going about 80 mph and want to go say 90 and it's in seventh gear, I downshift to 6th? Like I'm not sure exactly what to do.
And also what if you wanted to just slam the accelerator from 0? Would you just rapidly upshift? Or slam on the brakes, rapidly downshift as you brake? And also I see downshifting revs the engine, how exactly does this work? Wouldn't you rev the engine by not changing gears and before you redline your RPMs the engine starts revving and then you switch gears?
If any bro can help me I would really relaly appreciate it.
you really can't fuck up paddle shifting. is this bait?
How do you not understand the concept of gears in a transmission? Could you not even watch one YouTube video before coming here looking to be spoon-fed?

Thats because I wasnt around :D Lets change this. why did you post this sexy lady? is it your favourite? oh and where are you from if you dont mind
>>15857440
I posted the 156 because I happen to love how they look, and they can be found for fairly cheap. They're one of my options for a first car, and I was trying to get some more info on them (personal experience of more people than just 1 of my friends).
I know they eat control arms and burn oil already, and timing belts really need to be kept up with.
