What's the worst car maintenance you've ever seen, /o/?
>2nd year of uni
>one of classmates uses his father's very old GMC suburban to get around
>doesn't know shit about cars, but he's a very chill dude and admits it straight up
>calls me one night at 11 pm needing my help
>he said smoke was getting out of the hood so he stopped the car and called me
>drive over to him to see what's wrong
>wait till car cools off
>unscrew radiator cap
>nothing inside
>literally nothing
>radiator is so dry I am reminded of the night I lost my virginity
>ask him when was the last time he checked it
>"oh anon I never did desu"
>he got the car from his dad 5 years ago
>5 years
>in a car that needs 17L of coolant to circulate
>5 fucking years
>a fucking baby born 5 years ago would be able to walk, talk and shit in a toilet by now
I showed him how to add coolant and how often he needs to check and add more if needed. To this day I am still baffled how the engine survived this long with it constantly overheating every time it ran. He still has the car and it still runs.
>pic related, same car
> Lady friend of mine finances for an 08 Trailblazer in 2013
> Poor as shit, can only make payments, has a kid after
> January 2016, she brings the thing to my home garage for full service + brakes.
> pads worn down to metal all around, discs are paper thin
> with engine hot, oil is like sludge, comes out of drain like cold gear oil, as black as night.
> me, inquire about service history
> none.
> truck looks like it's starred in an action flick as a stunt car
> still owes on it
>Friend had corolla that was sitting for about a year
>Told them to change the oil and check the fluids or take it somewhere to do it
>They didn't
>Called me up 'hurr smells like burning and it's not running right'
>Go look
>It has no coolant
>It has no oil
>No fucking fluids in it AT ALL
>Put water in
>Put oil in
That was 2 years ago and it's still going today.
Toyota stronk
Friends retarded
I know Tesla makes fast af sedans and SUVs(it's a goddamn minivan in my eyes but they call that way).
BUT how reliable are these cars?
The 2013 Model S was a huge piece of shit, not sure how the newer models are. You'd think they would improve with time but I have heard that they have started cutting corners on the assembly line to improve profit margins.
>>15861849
>that they have started cutting corners on the assembly line to improve profit margins.
That sucks to hear.
>>15861824
>fast af sedans
over 10min BtG with a professional race driver. Making it considerably slower than the Merc S320, BMW 328, Subaru Impreza Evo X every modern hot hatch.

CENTRAL DRIVING POSITION FOR GODS SAKE
Why didn't Lamborghini proceed with the super sedan concept, Estoque?
>5.2L V10
>AWD (7 spd twin clutch)
It's like Lamborghini gave Tesla the idea for the fastest sedan. If the Estoque had been green-lit for production, it would've been the most extreme and fastest sedan ever.
Instead of Lamborghini working on the next all-electric Hyper Car, why not they just do this?
Look how fat and disgusting it became
>>15861421
That looks cool but Lamborghini should never make something that is an SUV or a pick-up truck.
The Panamera.
Dont forget that VW, Bentley, Porsche, Lamborgini and Audi are all the same company.
They own 3 of the 10 fastest four door cars.
Flying Spur 0-60 4.3 sec Panamera S 0-60 3.7sec Audi RS7 0-60 3.2 sec. So they know high end 4 doors.
They all have a different class of luxury but there is not too much competition for high end 4 doors outside of Mercedes.
As for vs a Tesla you got me there.
Hey /o/, Central Europe fag here, thinking on buying one of these.
My budget is 1500 eur, because obviously I will have to spend on the car later on.
My point when chosing were:
-it should look like a fucking ufo
-it should be comfortable af
-it should have an at least ok engine
-i should enjoy driving around the fucking thing
So my question is, with the conditions above, is the BX a good choice? Or is there anyhing out there that I missed?
Also, if any fags here own this thing, how do you like it? Does the suspension cause problems? Is there anything I should pay special attention to when buying?
>inb4 french shitpile BTFO
>>15860717
Just buy an old R19 or Super 5 from a granny.
>>15860729
>Super 5
Nah, I'm 195 cm, and over 100 kgs, so its off.
>R19
They're generally in worse shape than the BXes I found. Also, muh aesthetics.
>>15860760
You're a big guy
How about that one that looks just like a 306? The design is cute

Why do you have such a huge boner for Crown Victorias, /o/?
neckbeards want some illusion of authority so they like things attached to the definition of authority
>>15860392
My first car was a 03 town car. Still have it, very comfortable.
Are they any good?? I really like how this cars look on the outside and inside
>>15860376
I don't know about their newer cars, but I've owned 2 Chevys. I'm not a fan of them. Although it is more about the particular model and not the manufacturer.
Buy Nissan Sentra instead nigger. Think about your family's safety
>>15860396
Yeah I've been reading reviews only and the majority say that they're awesome cars, but they're definitely not the type of car that you will use on a street race, which is, you know, expected.
>>15860424
Nigga I just want a comfy little car, I always loved this type of designs.
So I'm looking at a few cars from private sellers. I'm just curious about how you go about test driving the car and having your mechanic look at it.
I'm going with a friend, so would I test drive it with the owner in the front passenger seat and my friend in the back? Say I like the car and I take the next step of having my mechanic look at it. Do the owner and I agree on an appointment time with a mechanic, then have him drive the car there, I meet him there and I pay for the check up?
This is my first time doing this, so I'm just trying to learn the convention.
bumping because im curious also
>>15860335
You must first ask the seller if he's cool with you having the car inspected alot of private sellers aren't okay with that. I wouldn't take your friend with you on the test drive just have it be you two and leave your friend at the location you guys met up. After that once you return you guys talk price and decide a meet up time for the mechanic or go straight there if the test drive goes well.
>>15861001
I only say leave your friend because the seller might feel uncomfortable and might not want the 2 of you asking questions during the test drive about the car. No unessessary feed back you know?
What did you do today?
>Changed the Rear diff fluid
Smells like shit and is pretty dark. Wonder how long the previous owner let it go. Drives like a dream.
Visited mum. Said her car was driving a little fucky in the mornings, asked her when last service etc
>Never done it before
So bought pretty much all the fluids and did flushes/bleeds.
Hopefully no seals shit the bed in the next week.
>>15860293
Did it feel like a new car? Whats the mileage?
>>15860303
Just an ordinary 96 Legacy BG4.
Drives like a gutless piece of shit, could do with new rear bushings/shocks and told her that's out of my 'being nice' budget.
I think it was the AT fluid, she drives stop/start (Does about 8000km a year), seems a lot better after that.
why are the Japanese the only ones who know how to make decent and reliable cars?
How come every non Japanese car starts breaking down at 100k miles? This seriously annoys the fuck out of me. Pic related goes 500k miles without a problem
>>15860265
Nice b& m&y
>>15860269
I'm asking a legitimate question. are you afraid your non-Japanese shitbox will be breaking down soon
>>15860280
You realise the tacoma is bultimately by nignogs in butthole Tennessee right?
The name on the title and the signature on it didn't match. Yes stupid of me but I was a first time car buyer. Anyway, I let the guy who sold it to me immediately know that the DMV refused to register it because the names didn't match up.
He said he would look into it and ask the owner of the title to get it fixed since they lived two hours away. A couple days went by and he said that the owner of the car didn't want to deal with it. I asked for my money back and he said he'd drive down there and get the paperwork done. I told him okay. A couple days later I hadn't heard from him so I called him up today and asked for my money back. He said the car was sold as is and I wasn't getting anything back.
So now what are my choices? I live in northern Nevada by the way. The car is from California and I already ran the plates under the stolen car database and nothing came up. I'm still getting the feeling the car is stolen though. I'm completely lost on what to do, any ideas?
small claims court is a possibility.
Although more than likely, you're just a complete dumbass.
The matter seems to be resolved so disregard.
Don't be a dipshit next time
Hahahahahaha
as shitty as the traffic is, this is the best place to drive.
>winding roads
>mountains
>pch
>beaches
can /o/ name a better place?
Lately LA has been ultra congested. it took a routine 15 minute drive an hour today. Plus that nasty humidity we got today sucked
>>15860157
>can /o/ name a better place?
The mountain roads in the picture. Driving in Hollywood sucks and I will sometimes unironically take public transit since parts of Hollywood are gridlock city
>>15860172
Nah man. Just wake up early enough, around 7 am and you can cruise hollywood if you want to. Literally no traffic.
Is installing a turbo kit into an NA miata hard? I'm pretty smart and momma didn't raise no quitter, so I'm sure I can pull it off.
However what made me not so sure is how much room for error there is. Also, do I have to cut holes/ weld/ do other crazy things? All the Youtube videos I see of people installing their kits have basically their own shop.
I'm a poor high school kid who can't afford expensive tools.
Alternatively, how much does it cost for a professional to do it?
>>15859719
Sorry guys I'm in college. I'm really tired and accidentally put high school.
Of course you have to weld ffs
>>15859738
That entirely depends on what kind of kit you get.
Hey /o/
First time poster here. Just wanted to say I like Preludes.
Preludes are awesome.
What are they a prelude to?
