Subaru mech here. This post is to let everyone know that TSB out for sticky reflective dash boards is in effect affecting 2005-2009 legacy and outback models. This is also to remind that anon about his dash a few weeks ago. These things are a Bitch to replace pic related. What I'm currently doing.
Does uv light photodegrade the plastic or something and make it reflective? I drove a Ford fusion from that era before and it fucking sucked in bright sunlight.
since you're a subaru mech, I'll ask you a question that I've needed to be answered for a while.
are the new fa20dit engines reliable? basically I've narrowed new cars down and I'm leaning more toward the new style wrx. I want to mod it after a while and if I'm going to do that I want an engine that won't pop after 30k miles.

Thanks. It's causing serious sight issues while driving on my outback.
i enjoy driving my car.
am i the only one?
>>15868069
yes. this board is for benchracers and bus riders who need an outlet for their fantasy of one day owning a vehicle.
driving like an idiot is fun
commuting is so boring that I hate cars

Hey /o/ I'm looking at a few 1997 firebirds for my first car. It's in my price range and they look pretty nice, in my opinion. Is there any other car that would be a better alternative, or is the firebird just known as a bad car? Any info would help. Thanks
You have to wear a condom at all times when driving one, otherwise any girl that gets in or even touches it will get pregnant

Thanks for the advice.

Great post lad
Anyone notice the strip of blue masking tape on the back of their window? Apparently that's a new thing the boot lickers are doing.

the car isnt expensive enough for me to be triggered
Someone at Toyota convinced the higher-ups that humans want to drive around in cars that make this face.
It looks so pissed off

Reminds me of Emperor Zurg from Toy Story 2.
What does /o/ think of Hyundai? How about Kia? They are both South Korean manufacturers. What is their reputation for reliability? Or maybe even lack of reliability?
My PERSONAL thoughts: I didn't care much for Hyundai till I got one. I preferred American manufacturers like Ford or Chevy. Bit biased towards Asian car manufacturers.
Meh
They are good but even more boring than honda/toyota

>more boring than toyota
I'm kinda hyped for their premium brand Genesis and their performance line (N brand?). Also the Genesis Coupe seemed pretty nice but was way too heavy to consider it.
Is it worth it?
yes.
Gee, I'm not sure OP, because you didn't give us a fucking price.

Rotary is kindve a unique design but holds literally no other purpose other than to be unique

I dunno what the hell this hose thing is suppose to be for on my 94, Ford 302. Can someone help.

Coolant probably.
Exhaust air injection
Assumptions you later found out it was wrong.
Until coming to 4chan last year, I used to think all Japanese cars were FWDs, all European cars were AWDs and American ones were RWDs.
>>15867519
You should really learn how to keep your thoughts to yourself.
>>15867519
I thought all cars in America were RWD.
I thought Scion was the coolest brand, despite only liking two of their cars.
I thought the corvette and GT-R was an apples to oranges comparison.
I thought the GT-R was made by ford.
If you haven't figured it out, I thought the GT-R and ford GT were the same thing.
>>15867519
Until coming here on /o/ I thought American car were good

Sup guys. I dont know anything about cars but i wanna know if a mechanic is fucking me around.
My car is a 2008 Suzuki Sx4 with a 4 cylinder engine. 109,000 miles
Last wednesday my car didn't start. It ran fine the day before. I'd turn the key and it would sound like it was gonna start then id lay off the ignition and the engine would stop.
Took it to the mechanic and he told me that there was a known problem with suzukis and something (i cant remember what) was bent causing low compression. On all 4 cylinders the compression was under 100. He suggested i junk the car as the cost of a new engine is less than the kbb.
Is this mechanic lying to me to get me to junk my car? He said this was a known issue but I've been googling and can't find anything.
By the way, some other keywords i remember are "timing" and "interference"
Thanks!
>>15866916
>Suzuki
>Over 100k miles
Unless you kept impeccable maintenance it's most likely fucked. From what you are saying seems like timing belt went out with a bang.
>>15866916
did he do a compression test? if he didn't do one and is telling you this anyway, go somewhere else. compression problems are something you don't diagnose unless your sure... it'd be like a doctor telling you... yeah, well... its probably cancer
>>15866922
Yeah sounds good. This fuckin sucks. Haha. Thanks for the info tho
How come Mercedes doesn't make reliable vehicles anymore? They used to make W115 which lasted for millions of miles. Nowadays modern Mercedes plastic turds suffer catastrophic mechanical failures at 50k miles. What went wrong?
>Nowadays modern Mercedes plastic turds suffer catastrophic mechanical failures at 50k miles.
I see this is a scientific thread.
>>15866813
Hi Scotty, have you ever noticed that you look a lot like Hillary Clinton?
you dont make money on reliability
