What's the cheapest car you can buy and gradually improve/modify as the time flies (increase power, install better suspension, change brakes) until it becomes street racing monster and you can go to the track with it?
Pic unrelated
Manual neon
1.3l diesel Punto

This is a pretty stupid quesion.
The answer is any cheap car can be modified. You dont even need to modify cheap cars to take them to the track.
Buying my second car soon and looking for some advice.
Up to now I've only driven shitboxes, fastest thing I've driven had 200bhp and felt like 'wow' quick but not 'omg' quick. I've never been in a car with more than 220bhp.
I'm buying a car that isn't a barge and it has around 380bhp, how fast should it feel? Just wondering as I don't know what to expect, so if I take it out for a test drive with the expectation of shitting myself when I go WOT but it doesn't feel that quick, I'll know something about the car is probably fucked and I should walk away.
>>15843269
It's going to feel slow as fuck. Pic unrelated, third gear
>>15843269
>around 380bhp
not around 400? how does your mind work?
bhp is just a number, if you buy a car only based on its horsepower you're dumb.
Lamborghini Working on an All-Electric Hyper Car
> It'll be named as the Vitola.
> According to several news reports, the Vitola will most likely use the Porsche Mission E's J1 platform.
> It'll also feature the Porsche's superfast charging system.
> The Porsche Mission E uses an 800V battery.
(Pics are just the magazine speculated renders of the Vitola.)

>All-Electric Hyper Car
Who cares.

>not actual existing Rimac tech which they already shop out and runs an actual hypercar
Confused.
If I buy some high performance summer tires (streetable, not purely track tires) but have them on my car on an odd snow-day during the early Fall/late Spring (it happens sometimes) will they fall apart and become useless?
When you crash into something they will
>>15842668
I'm not going to drive those days, I should have mentioned. I don't drive to work. It's just that you're not supposed to store tires in cold temps.
>>15842670
It literally will not matter.
What's your opinion on the Chevrolet SS?
Would you own one?
Yeeeesss.
>>15842493
No. The camaro is already slower than the sienna around a track. That piece of shit wouldn't perform any better
>>15842493
I would if I could
Any love for the E90?
>>15842365
Why do you post an E60
That's an e60
>>15842367
>>15842368
Whats the difference?
There is a guy who owns an evo but also liked to spend time and money on a fucking civic...
Why?
>>15842274
Daily and weekend or track?
Because he wants to?
Maybe he had the civic first and doesn't want/need to toss it?
Maybe he doesn't want to wreck the Evo doing amateur motorsports.
>>15842274
can you feel the [ C O O L V I B R A T I O N S ] ?
>It's pretty warm today
>Its raining pretty hard
>Car has no working AC
>passing cars really affect visibility
>Heat blowing on the windshield only works if its cranked up.
Why cant it just be winter already.
>>15842169
What, too poor to fix your AC, or even have a heated windscreen?
Or even to wipe it with a teatowel?
Fucking poorfag. Go ram a bridge.

>>15842105
Does this count?
>an unemployed autismo drives around in a suit
>guy pulls up in a beat to shit corolla with anime stickers everywhere, gets out of car and is in a suit
Fucking hilarious just thinking of all the ridiculous scenarios
>>15842105
>he doesn't wear snakeskin cowboy boots and a Molly Hatchet shirt with the sleeves cut off when he drives
Anyone know of a dash cam that does not store footage locally but transfers directly to a smartphone?
>>15841939
Stop letting your wife drive your car. Problem solved.
>>15841939
what kind of phone do you have? if you have an Android the Google store has a free dashcam app that actually works really good, my gf uses it all the time. uses alot of data though so if you dont have alot/unlimited on your phone youre screwed
>>15841949
Android. I want to have a legit dash cam but i don't want self-incriminating evidence to be easily available to the authorities
So, I bought this for about $1.7k a few days ago, and it came with the original keys from 1991, and most things are stock on it. But after putting the ignition cylinder to "LOCK", I went to bed this morning, and when I came out to go to work, the key wouldn't turn the cylinder. I figured maybe it just needed a wiggle, but still nothing.
>Tried calling locksmith
>"Only a dealership can help"
Is going to the stealership for a new key really my cheapest and best bet? Can they make a key for a car this old with just the VIN? Because if I have to get a whole new cylinder, I'll be losing the airbags for some damn reason and would rather avoid that route.
>Pic related, the keys I got from the last owner
>>15841833
Nissan can make keys for any vehicle off the VIN, at least here in Canada they can. even if its a JDM car
you wont lose the airbag over the lock cylinder, dont know why you think that. when i was a mechanic we dealt with this all the time, you can get a new lock cylinder with blank key at Napa and go to a locksmith and say you need to get this key/cylinder combo matched, $40 later youre done. thats all we did, only thing is you need your old keys for the door lock cylinders
i dont know if you have to remove the steering wheel on S13 to get the lock tumbler out, even if you do you just unhook the battery for 20 min and the airbag is simple to remove and re-install
>>15841859
Holy fuck those keys are worn.
Did you try turning the wheel slightly? There might be a button too to unlock it
I have an old beat up 1958 dune buggy like pic related. What should I do to it? Everything is pretty rusty and seats aren't perfect, but it's a fun car. Pimp my car, /o/
stance it

>tfw dad had one in his younger days
>exactly like the one in your pic but with dark green metallic fleck paint
>sat in great grandmothers garage my whole childhood
>thought one day it would be mine
>turned 16 and had a license
>dad decides dune buggy isn't safe
>doesn't want me ever being in it
>sells it at an auction for $800
That was 11 years ago and I'm still bitter over it.
Get one of those big fat 4 into 1 exhaust pipes that sticks out the back and an upward angle. Only pic I could find of what I'm talking about, sorry it's a tiny thumbnail.
take a photo and show us
whats the original car?
going to look at a 1991 Volvo 940 GLE tomorrow with 123000 km (I'm in Canada). Has new timing belt, brakes, radiator, engine seals and valve cover gasket. What else should I look for? just looking for a reliable a to b car. pic related, its the car
>>15841663
>Canada
disgusting
how much is the car?
>>15841691
3 grand, its pretty mint, but dealerships rape you money wise up here...BC stands for bring cash
>>15841663
pay attention to the struts and bushings. It's about time for replacement (if they are the originals)
also play with every single knob and switch in the car looking for electrical gremlins.
Are Mercedes S Classes cool, and would you buy one?
>>15841635
someone at my office has an s63 and it looks sweet as fuck but i probably would never buy a car like that even if i could afford it
they are cool, best ones are w126 and w140 imo
but i prefer shit boxes
>>15841643
im looking at used ones and you get get one from 2010 for like 20 grand
Almost hit a pedi today that apparently doesn't understand road signals.
I was turning right on a green light with a "do not walk" hand sign and noticed pedestrians near the intersection so I stopped. I saw a left turning car in front of me which I assumed was waiting for me to complete my right turn so I started making the turn and noticed the pedestrians crossing on the "no walk" signal.
I nearly hit them, motioned to the signal, and the guy started mimicking me. It's enough having to worry about other things on the road but when pedestrians start walking into roads where they are not permitted to do so, driving just becomes a guessing game.
Anyone have pedestrian stories?
>>15841631
Pedestrians are scum.
Gas the elderly.
fuck pedestrians. Basically the entirity of downtown in my city is covered by a university campus and the fuckers can't stop walking out in front of me.
Run his dumb ass over, then sue to fix the human shaped dent he left in your car. Betcha he won't fucking do it again.
