is there any real difference between the ptr, c308, and any other NON Hk cetme/g3 clone?
How different could the difference between the century arms and the ptr be? Aren't they all made from the same parts? Aren't all the original parts Hk made? Other than the assembly, which anyone can later fix, what real difference is there?
bumping this good question
>>31482380
Hk didnt make the cetme.
The c308 use a lot of surplus cetme parts.
>>31482425
The C308 is also made by the drunken monkeys at Century. Look at one next to a PTR sometime. The gap in quality is massive and obvious.
What's the next conflict you're hoping to see in the world, /k/?
I'd personally opt for a Chinese invasion of Taiwan or a Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Do you wear earpro when you unload your carry gun into your clearing bucket before going to bed every night? I only started carrying a week ago and I am starting to get a ringing in my ears that I can notice even while driving my pickup (modified exhaust) through busy downtown traffic.

Hey k,
im making a firearm safety pamphlet for my university gun club, i cant find a good picture for the cover, anyone have suggestions?
bump pls help thanks
hows this
I'm buying my first gun /k/. I've decided a pistol/revolver is a tad expensive for me, so I am stuck between a ~300 dollar Mossy 500 20 guage, and a ~400 dollar AR kit. I plan to use it for home defense and for shooting at the range with friends.
Also, I live in Illinois (cook county), so I feel my choices are limited.
I am tempted by the mossy because of the price, but
>no stock
The AR is appealing because of the availability of ammo and such.
Suggestions?

>>31481001
If it were a 12ga I'd say get that. A 12 ga Mossberg 500 is a better investment than a chinese AR.
Get neither. Stuff the money under your mattress and save more.
Why is Russia developing two different tracked IFVs using the same armament ?
One is a 25 tons vehicle, the other is a 48 tons superheavy IFV based on the T-14 chassis.
However, despite these differences, won't they have basically the same tactical role in the end ?
Probably the same rationale as having multiple bradley load outs. One scouting, one for infantry
>>31480821
Well yeah, but why do you need two completely different chassis to do it?
>>31480782
>However, despite these differences, won't they have basically the same tactical role in the end ?
More or less but each vehicle has its own unique strengths and weaknesses.
The Kurganets-25 is amphibious and thus can advance much faster on a strategic level but isnt as armoured as the T-15 which thanks to its armour, isnt amphibious but is able to take hits that would destroy a Kurganets and thus is more suitable for urban warfare.
The image got me thinking, what weapons would actually be suitable for use on Mars? I assume ease of manufacture, high reliability in dusty/cold conditions, and cost considerations pretty much put the Soviet small arms ensemble (AK-74, PKM and derivatives thereof) firmly in front, but I'm open to suggestions. Would it make more sense to field a battle rifle or an assault rifle? I somehow don't think Mosin carbines would be the best option.
By image, I meant this one.
>>31480387
Mosins would be perfect. You can see, and shoot for miles.
AR-15. It can go anywhere, do anything, kill anything, its indestructible. Its a miracle of modern science and engineering. NASA wouldn't be foolish enough to use a lesser gun, which is any other gun but the AR-15.

Sometimes I reload a box of 9mm ammunition and fill one of the cartridges with TATP instead of gunpowder, to see if the black people who keep breaking into my garage will get the message.
If anyone pisses me off at the range, I'll tail them home and then file an anonymous police report.
>>31479286
Why not just reload the whole fucking box and store real ammo elsewhere .
Also why the fuck are you so cool with letting them continually break into your shit.

>>31478651
Hard body armor.
Constrictors kill by biting their victim, thereby latching on, then wrapping around until they are crushed. If they cant latch on, they arent gonna be able to wrap around you.
After that, just knife them
>>31478694
Would they not try to wrap around you if they couldnt bite you?
