It looks like it could have been a precursor to the American M79.

Was it an effective grenade launcher or complete shit?

The Germans didn't make more of a lot of things because they got their shit pushed in before they could.

Kampfpistoles, StGs, panzerfausts and MG 34/42s could have been deployed in a similar fashion to a modern American infantry squads to great effect. With new technologies you run the problem of learning how to use it correctly.

I've never looked into this before today and only have looked into it for 10 minutes or so but-

I didn't know knife laws were so strict. I was looking around amazon to buy one and was wondering why all the blades were 1.5-3 inches. That's so small. Then when I looked into it it seems that a blade any longer than 3 inches is illegal in pretty much all states states.

I can't afford to buy a gun for home defense (or at least the last time I looked into it a number of years ago a pistol was $1,000+ and then the ammo costs. I'd never be able to shoot it even if someone broke into my house becasue I'd keep doing the math on how much money I'd lose if I missed) so I figured a knife would be the next best thing but if 3 inches it the max then I'd be better off just cooking the intruders a succulent Chinese meal.

What country are you living in? US laws are nothing like this and firearms can be had for well, well under 1000 usd with ammunition below .30cents per round

According to my 30 second google search any knife blade longer than 3 inches is illegal. Also yes I live in the US. It says conceal carry is what makes it illegal, so does that mean I can have a 2 foot blade so long as it's in my house? Just joking of course but what I mean is would the 3 inch limit not apply if it's in my house?

As for my knowledge on firearms, all I know is what I've seen on a website I saw a number of years ago. I didn't really look too far into it becasue of how expensive it seemed.

when youre old and borderline senile, what will be the last gun you ever want to shoot before you die/go in a home and give your guns away?

Hmm. I'd have to go with a .30 Carbine Blackhawk. Pointlessly noisy- muzzle flash visible on a sunny day, but easy on my gnarled knuckles to cock. And it's an old-man's gun.

nigga I ain't ever gonna be old, at least I won't be if we get full body prosthetics and cyberbrains and shit.

but to answer the question, a bolt .22 rifle. It was the gun that started my obsession, it should be the last one I shoot too.
>>
>>31471239
My first .22.

Young Tommy had better bring it to the death bed.

But also my .243, I refused to sell that back to the man who I got it from on his own death bed, I had best love it until the end.

Greatings from /a/, I have a couple question that I figured /k/ might know the answers to or have information on it.

Is the US military industrial complex able to supply a war effort that has the same mobilizations levels as WWII had? If the military industrial complex can't does the US still have the manufacturing capabilities to reach the levels of industry we had during WWII?

The second question in particular really interested me because during WWII many of our factories were converted from making cars to tanks. Is our domestic manufactoring to specialized to be converted to these tasks. Also for instance do any of our weapons like an Abrams tank take any materials that we no longer produce domestically?

Sorry if logistical stuff like the manufacturing of weapons during war time is not allowed here. I will remove this post if it isn't.

>Is the US military industrial complex able to supply a war effort that has the same mobilizations levels as WWII had? If the military industrial complex can't does the US still have the manufacturing capabilities to reach the levels of industry we had during WWII?
We would exceed the production capacity of WW2 industry easily. In fact the primary limiting factor would be raw materials from other countries.

>The second question in particular really interested me because during WWII many of our factories were converted from making cars to tanks. No, and yes. Lines can be retooled relatively quickly if need be (depending on the line, this is a BROAD generalization) but we do need many different raw materials. Chromium, for example, is not found in the U.S. Nickel is another metal primarily found outside the U.S.

>military industrial complex
military industrial university complex

stop giving the research arm a pass.

>does the US still have the manufacturing capabilities to reach the levels of industry we had during WWII?
no of course not. much of our steel industry didn't survive the 1980s.
>>
>>31470996
I thought we still had some steel production but it was hard for it to compete against the cheap chinese steel because their industries are government subsidised?

Also what do you mean by "military industrail university complex"?

I don't know anything anymore... so a guy goes and kills 5 people with a .22lr in Washington, but homeboy in Texas has a .45 tommy gun but only managed to wound 9 people and no one dies. How does this happen?

>One resident, Jennifer Molleda, said that after awakening to gunfire and dialing 911, her husband left for work as he usually does. Moments later, she heard his car come to a screeching stop.

>"I immediately called him and said, 'Honey...did you see anything — see anybody out in the street?'" Molleda said. "All he was doing was screaming, 'I'm hit. Jen, I'm hit.'"

Because young people are dumb, and do not have personal experience enough to know why doing such things is a bad idea. Like touching a hot stove. Sure, at some level you KNOW not to do it. But until you've burned your hand, the consequences are abstract and distant.
>>
>>31470865
Why though? When I first handed a pistol, the instructor said "Don't point the gun at anything you don't want to shoot at", and my response was "Makes sense".

Will my gun transcend time and space if I shoot this? Will it vaporize anything it touches??
