Why don't we see modern day propaganda posters like we had back in WW2?
28 posts and 12 images submitted.
>>
Because we live a different age.

Back then propaganda posters were used to motivate people to fight and / or work for their homeland.

There is propaganda in our time as well, but it's more subtle and manipulative. Small details retouched in news, disclosing only a part of the information about certain things, etc.

Yo /k/,

I need a bolt action rifle for a film I'm making. The requirements are a scope, functional "bolt action" (not sure if that's the right term), and that it seems like its from WWII but that last one isn't too important -- it just shouldn't look modern, ya know.

And it shouldn't be real. Having an actual firearm on set leads to more problems than their worth with stuff like permits.

What's the best way to get one of these?

What lowers should I buy for AWB 2.0?

Leftists no longer pretend to care about "what the founders intended." They admit they want the opposite.

Hey guys, random question. Theoretically, how long would an assault rifle stay in good condition if kept in a barrel of grease? I'm watching a tv series called the 100. And in it, the main characters find a 97 year old grease barrel full of guns that magically work perfectly.

>>
>>31741258
Close to all 19th - early 20th century Mosin Nagants have been stored in packing grease at some point. Look hard enough and you might even find a late 1800's marked rifle.

If the suspension material is non-reactive to any of the components of a given firearm and you follow proper sealing procedures you can effectively store the gun for a long fucking time.
>>
>>31741285
What this Anon said. With modern finishes and materials probably even longer. Basically indefinitely for all intensive purposes.
>>
>>31741258
Hundreds of years if properly sealed, maybe longer. People are still pulling nuggets out of cosmoline that still work perfectly well, some almost 80 years old.

SMG is defined by being a pistol caliber, so your question is stupid.

I'm looking for weapons which aren't utterly ridiculous but aren't seen particularly often.
So, not just generic black pistol, and not some stupid shit like Kung Lao's hat in Mortal Kombat. Think Chigurh's captive bolt pistol in No Country For Old Men.

Thank you.

Someone know what model of pistol was used at the murder of Maritza Martin Muñoz in the year 1993 at Miami, Florida?

The picture quality is far too shit to pull up anything meaningful that can identify a particular gun. However, we can see It's a fullsized stainless automatic with slide serrations by the hammer. so it might be a 1911. but i wouldn't bet on it.

No, may be firing more rounds, but half won't hit, so might as well just use one and save the other magazine, or give the 2nd gun to somebody else.

>>31740870
if you're ambidextrous, you can shoot with the first gun until it's empty, then instantly switch to the other gun. it's like having an instant reload

Finally, the Aussie NFA review will be announced tomorrow and it has been nothing but antigun shilling on every new channel for the past 2 day.

Also QLD, the chosen one, has fallen. The QLD Labor government has chosen to propose all lever actions with a cap over 5 rounds to be moved to cat C. This is in addition to several other soul rending restrictions that we will only find out about when it is revealed as a part of the review tomorrow.

We failed. Guns rights in Australia are a thing long gone.

Hello /k/

Due to recent world events, it is time for me to purchase a rifle in order to protect my family. I'd like your help, if possible.

I live in the southeastern United States. I am looking to purchase a rifle at a regular gun store with the following characteristics:

A) It must be combat effective. I am using this to defend my family. I am not trying to scare or maim potential aggressors.

B) I do not mind performing maintenance, but I'd rather it be a medium amount as opposed to a high amount.

C) Reliability is important. I will not be firing the weapon often, but would like to be confident that it's ready to roll when I am

D) I do not intend to modify it immediately (weapon attachments, mechanical modifications), but I would certainly consider it if a major happening ends up not happening in the near future.

I have experience with only small caliber rifles, and various handguns. I am, however, willing and able to hit the range a few times to get acquainted.

Can you help me /k/? I don't really trust anyone else for guidance.

A 12 gauge pump action shotgun sounds like it would fit the bill of whatever you're looking for.
>>
>>31740399
I considered this, but I'd really prefer an actual rifle... partly because I feel a shotgun would be the last thing a rogue president would ban.
>>
>>31740399
>>31740421
I have other reasons too of course. I feel that I would likely be dealing with multiple aggressors during something like a civil war or (god forbid) post-nuclear scenario, and I'd want to be able to deal with them- at range- if necessary.

I was at an outdoor range the other day, and it had a earthen berm as a backstop. It made me think a bit.

That berm must have taken thousands if not hundreds of thousands of rounds, right? And most of them are usually no worse for the wear despite hundreds of shooters constantly shooting at them. Why can't we set up a similar system for our vehicles or for our infantry? Some sort of earthen dirt-based armor that would simply absorb and hold incoming rounds - there's gotta be people looking into this, right?

if your vehicle is getting hit with thousands or hundreds of thousands of rounds, you're doing something wrong.
>>
>>31740266
Or doing something very very right

I suppose you could put a bunch of sandbags on bits of the tank, maybe underneath those anti-RPG grilles that some of them have. I don't know much about military vehicles, you might get better answers from the treadheads.
