Nope. I wouldn't have even before the recall, they had an earned rep for breaking down much more frequently than Aimpoints and ACOGs. Plus they're heavy for what they give and I don't like doing constant battery changes.

I'm not the other dude, but I think logically being closer to the base of the spread would minimize your chance of catching a pebble that spread wide in an unarmored area, but it would be a harsher impact on your chest/gut

I don't sleep with my gear, but I do keep my pistol and rifle right next to my bed.

Sometimes....I like to think I'll need to wear it for a few days at a time. And being in bed with it is the most comfortable place. If I couldn't sleep in it there I most likely couldn't in some muddy hole.

I've been known to sleep with a mosin pouch equipped and a balacalva.
