is getting a light mounted onto your pistol/AR worth it?
specifically surefire or some other brand?
>>31728132
also what's a good option other than surefire and more on the budget side?
>>31728132
If you want to light up dark areas while aiming your gun, yes.
If you have to ask if you need a flashlight in a situation that flashlights find good use you probably should surrender your guns
Whats your opinion on .45 ACP?
>>31728083
It's a perfectly fine round
It's more expensive than 9mm and .40, on average.
That's really it. It's a round, what do you want from us?
>>31728100
Been thinking of getting a FNX Tactical
>>31728125
Okay, Get one.
Hello, I posted my last AMA on here 2 weeks ago. I am the acquisitions manager of a small defense export firm based in the USA. We are the only American firm working with the Military-Industrial Committee of the Republic of Belarus to supply our contracts. Ask me anything.
What did you have for dinner

I remember you. Tonight I experimented with some cuban dishes.
Why don't the magazines on my CM9 drop free anymore? They did when I first got it but now they dont. I inspected and cleaned the magazines and the magazine well and they all appear to be fine.
What could possibly cause this? The only thing I can possibly imagine is some kind of swelling of the polymer frame. I don't get it...
Pls halp
/k/itty in return
look at the little hole on the mag where the mag release would hold it in place, is there a giant scratch above it? Is your mag catch not retracting enough and just dragging across it?
Does it drop free with the slide open? Does the slide bieng closed matter affect it?
Is there a loaded spring somewhere that helps push it out? If so, inspect that.
Those are all the ideas I have.
>>31728329
I made a video. Maybe that will help someone identify the problem.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=Y5NiwaCqiHs
No there are no scratches anywhere on the magazine
The slide position has no effect on the problem. Even with a full mag and the slide closed it does the same thing.
So I hit the jackpot and my new girlfriend is a model. Downside to this is she drags me to a bunch of suit and tie events. So I'm in the need for a formal event concealed carry for a classy gentleman such as myself. I was thinking a Colt Delta Elite, polished to a mirror finish, with some ivory grips, and maybe have some hardware gold plated; in an alligator leather shoulder holster.
Thoughts?
>>31727830
No, a black gun for a black suit. It doesn't match unless you're dressed as a 19th century oil baron.
>>31727830
>concealed carry
>buying a flashy gun
America everyone.
Stop being a faggot. Get a single action .44 and pay to get it engraved. Get a fine leather shoulder rig. Deep carry a subcompact or hammerless .357 DA. Now git.
>tfw gf isn't all that into guns

I recently purchased an LCP 2013 edition.
I plan on making the following adjustments:
Change 9 lb spring to 13 lb spring
Talon grips
7 rd extended mags
I believe that these changes would makes the gun a very reliable and manageable conceal carry pistol.
Concerning ammo, what would /k/ reccomend to carry in a .380 ACP this size
I've narrowed it down to two carry rounds, yet am open to suggestions.
1. Hornady XTP
-90 gr JHP
-1,000 fps
-200 ft lbs
2. Underwood Xtreme Penetrator
-65 gr XP(custom round)
-1,300 fps
-240 ft lbs
I feel like number 1 would be adequate, and number 2 would be too powerful and destructive to everything in the bullet path. The XP round in .380 goes through 27 inches of ballistic gel after denim, and I'm not sure if this is pushing way past the line of safety.
>>31727501
tl;dr faggot
Go get some hard-cast copper rounds from Underwood ammo.
overpenitration in handgun ammo is a fucking MYTH. if your shit passes through muscle, bones, organs, then out and hits somebody, AND injures them, you took a bad shot and broke gun safety rule #3 (know what is in front of and beyond your target)
listen. you are FAR mar likely to simply miss your target and hit somebody. in which case it doesn't matter which type of bullet you chose.
so get the one that stops threats the best. for .380 that's cnc machined copper hard cast. pussy.
now delete your faggot thread and sell your LCP on backpage.
>>31727501
>buys literally pussiest .380 ever made
>skeerd boolits r 2 powerful and destructive
>pushing way past the line of safety
fucking kill yourself. please literally do it
>>31727531
>>31727631
That's the entire point of my thread. The bullets are designed to pass through a lot of material. I simply asked if it was WAY too much within reason.
Also, why is an lcp a terrible gun? The reason that I purchased it is because it's concealable and can run a 9mm short, which should be enough with the proper rounds.
Meanwhile, on /k/ in 2116...

It is a sexy action, too bad the 90 degree bolt lift can be an absolute bitch on a scoped rifle.
To me, its a questiom of sexy old school design vs practical new school.

Everyone and their mother is heavily armed. What would be the result afterwards? Would crime skyrocket or plummet?

Initial violence surge, immediate plummet to low levels.
Both, depending on the area

In a couple days I'm trading my HK P2000 for a Springfield CCO-sized 1911 in 9x19 (RO Compact). This will be my new carry pistol.
I love 1911s and regret getting rid of my last two. The RO Compact is 3oz heavier, and about an inch longer, but thinner, and shorter in the grip. Capacity will be 9 vs the 14 in my P2000. I think it's a fair tradeoff.
Is this a bad idea?
>>31727220
you are a fucking idiot but its your money your life do what you want
>>31727220
I actually like my p2000 a lot. Do you really want to fumble with a safety switch for a ccw gun?
>>31727241
thanks you too
>>31727257
I like mine too. The V1 Light LEM is awesome. I just really want a 1911 again.
I've carried 1911s and have gotten used to the manual safety. I don't mind it at all on 1911s. The only manual safeties I can't stand are the little tab things they stick on Shields and similar pistols, or slide mounted safeties.
Do you guys think that a Russian Chinese military alliance could form in the near future if U.S. Russian relations worsen?
>>31727073
Why would China want to tie itself to that dead weight?
>>31727089
Well Russia supports china in the South China Sea and China i believe supports them in Syria. Plus both of them are being driven towards one another by the U.S.

Is the 6.5 Creedmoor the apex of rifle round technology?
>lower recoil than 308
>300 win mag trajectory
>dat 6.5 ballistic coefficient
>works in AR-10 with a barrel change
>cheap as .308 in stores, easy to hand load
>>31726579
Is this going to become the 10mm of rifle rounds?
>>31726620
naw. It's more like the .357 sig of rifle rounds
>>31726579
>300 win mag trajectory
To a point. Hot, heavy, long barreled 300WM can do some amazing things with the 215/230gr berger bullets
>works in AR-10 with a barrel change
Has limitations; due to pressure signs, people run the 120gr bullets instead of the 140/143gr in the semi-auto's. With any of these ELR rounds, you really need the extra barrel length (26-28") to get the advantages, unfortunately manufacturers are still using the shorter barrels which defeats the purpose.
I still think the round is great, but it has some caveats.
What's the consensus on the Sphinx SDP compact?
I was looking to buy my first pistol, and since I live in a constitutional carry state, I thought I should get a pistol I can carry as well. I was looking into a CZ, but some people here say it's slavshit.
Looking for a metal framed 9mm compact.
>>31726323
>What's the consensus on the Sphinx SDP compact?
>limited aftermarket
>limited holster options
Look into the CZ-P07. It's nearly half the cost, more aftermarket and an anectdotal thing, some people say the triggers on SDP's are pretty meh for the price they command.
Something to consider
>P07
>same manual of arms as the SDP
>Cajun Gunworks action job
>comes right at around ~$750
>but some people here say it's slavshit.
>"slavshit"
This is by no means a bad thing. Still, a pretty stupid phrase that should have died back in 2011.
>>31726323
i just got a cz75 compact and am loving it. i've tried to find things to ruin the pleasure of the purchase but the only thing I can find is the coating on cz's isn't the nicest, it's a little thick. besides that cz's are pretty fucking good in my book. it's a meme brand though so people are very polarized
>>31726433
Is the metal frame worth having over the polymer? What about the P01?
